Having stayed here with our children a few years ago we returned as a couple of oldies. It's still the same fabulous place to stay. We had a great room with sea views and a balcony, a comfortable bed and a lovely modern bathroom. It's clean and welcoming. The staff are lovely and the breakfast are tasty and the food...

I stayed here for 5 nights with my 2 children and we had such a lovely time. I had booked a suite and we were lucky enough to be allocated The Retreat, which was stunning. With its own private staircase, you walked into a large hallway and from that there was a huge bathroom, with roll top bath and walk-in...

Just home after the most fabulous 2 night break in this large quirky hotel. The hotel itself is decorated tastefully. Modern whilst retaining the classic look. Expensively carpeted with comfy seating in the communal areas. Our room was very clean and comfy with views to die for. Lovely toiletries (no biscuits on the tea tray though). The indoor pool area...

Visited earlier this week for the first time. The location is excellent, the room was modern and comfortable with fabulous views and we enjoyed eating in the restaurant. We took full advantage of the hotel's facilities - we really enjoyed the pitch and putt. Although not warm enough this time we could see the lovely outdoor pool would be great...

Spent two nights at the hotel in an extremely large and comfortable suite. It was an excellent size and would have been amazing for a family with plenty of room including a lounge area. The food in both the Brasserie and main restaurant was very good. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room etc was a lovely addition to the weekend, as...

This hotel is almost right on the beach, couldn't get better views or location. When we checked in the girl on the desk was very friendly and welcoming and the decor/atmosphere seemed great. We (my partner and I) both went for massages and I have to say, they were fantastic. I was very impressed. I did find it a little...

I have been on holiday to Woolacombe over the past 35 years and since childhood have dreamed of staying at the Woolacombe Bay Hotel. I finally booked to stay with my grown-up son in September, and hoped that it would live up to my admittedly rose-coloured expectations. Not only did the hotel meet my hopes, but far exceeded them! Firstly,...

Good location with lovely views of the hills and sea. Although next to the beach the views of the sea aren't that great from the hotel because you have the golf course right in front of the hotel rather than the sea. The food at the hotel is very good. Try booking a table for dinner at the main hotel...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Much of the Hotel has been lovingly restored from the mid 1800's, creating it's unique and tranquil atmosphere. High ceilings, chandeliers and comfortable, quiet lounges are a testament to that era, and where first class modern amenities are required, they have been skilfully incorporated into the existing Woolacombe accommodation. We place high value on our staff. Trained to be attentive yet unobtrusive and to provide the kind of personal service that is so often hard to find. ... more   less
