We spent three nights over New Year's at this absolutely fantastic hotel. Terrific facilities for the children (pool, tennis courts, playrooms) absolutely brilliant staff and a phenomenal setting. The hotel has had a great re-furb in recent years and the food is a very good mix between the buzzing Village Inn which the hotel owns and the more formal restaurant....

There's something very special about this hotel, a little of a hidden gem! The personal service is second to none, the rooms are spacious, immaculate and enjoy beautiful views over the beach and Atlantic rollers The hotel is situated within its own meticulously maintained gardens which sweep down towards the coast, you are spoil for choice as each and every...

Having stayed in cottages in the village a few times we decided to book into the hotel for a couple of nights stay. The hotel has a friendly relaxed feeling not stuffy at all and the staff are always smiling which is a good sign. They are currently refurbish the main restaurant and judging buy the way they have upgraded...

The Thurlestone is expensive, however the price matches the faultless personal service. It really was excellent! As it was so expensive I felt the rooms could have been better appointed, although to be fair it seems churlish to be too critical, the service really was that good. The spa was very good and enjoyably quiet the week before Christmas. My...

We stayed as an (adult) family during "Twixmas" - in between Christmas and New Year - taking advantage of the lower rates. This isn't our first visit. We used to come to Thurlestone every year when I was a child - along with my grandmother, aunt, uncle and cousins - and we're starting up the tradition again as I came...

the sun, was shining and we had been given a table by the window. The view was amazing. The presentation of the food was excellent - as they say you 'eat with your eyes' and we were not disappointed. The 3 -course meal was delicious. Coffee and petite fours in the lounge afterwards was a bonus. On the downside -...

A group of us visited for a birthday celebration with a wide range of ages. Our bedroom was facing the back of the hotel, and was very comfortable and a reasonable size. Bathroom was large for a hotel room, slightly dated but ok, and everything was spotlessly clean. Loved the little Christmas decoration touches in the room and on the...
