Couldn't have asked for more. Lovely food, friendly and attentive service with reasonable prices. We stayed on the Travel zoo deal but will certainly stay again. Great beer and atmosphere in the bar comfortable and welcoming and you can eat in the bar or restaurant depending on which suits you. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We were lucky enough to have a three night Travelzoo break here. On such occasions we will normally eat at the hotel on the first night then subsequently experiment elsewhere. However on the first evening we had a 4 course taster menu which was so nicely prepared and balanced that we chose to eat in the 2nd night......and then the...

Quite a good choice, well cooked and presented. The service was polite and efficient, and the meal arrived quickly. The menu wasn't too adventurous and there were no surprises. Beer was excellent - Otter draft.

Hello and thanks for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed your meal, but am sorry that our menu wasn't adventurous enough for you. Most of our customers are very happy with what we have to offer. It just goes to show you can't please everyone! We agree, the Otter Ale is great!

We stayed two nights on a Travelzoo deal, the first of which was a Sunday. As it was quiet in the hotel that night we ate in the bar which was much cosier. The food was extremely good and we especially enjoyed the tapas starter and a very tasty soup to follow. A rich boeuf borgignon followed. We were pretty full...

We have just returned home after 2 nights spent st Lifton Hall. We used it as a base for touring both north and south Cornwall. Our room , which we understand had been recently refurbished was very comfortable with all the amenities you would require. We ate in the hotel both nights and enjoyed the dinners very much. The breakfasts...

We have just spent two nights at this hotel and really enjoyed our stay - visiting Dartmoor and the surrounding area. We enjoyed a really delicious four course taster menu as part of the deal and it was delicious - the spiced coconut and broccoli soup was amazing and I loved the dessert - pavlova meringue with honeycomb ice cream,...

I ate at this cosy restaurant last night with some friends I was visiting. They are regulars at this lovely restaurant and I understand why. A warm welcome was followed by a delicious dinner. The duck spring rolls were meaty and tasty. The ravioli was delicious. We were full but I managed to find room for a yummy brownie. A...

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for two nights 18/19th April 16. We were looking for a base from where we could explore the North and South coasts of Devon and Cornwall and this hotel, set close to, but well away from the A30, was ideal. The hotel has lots of old world charm, as does the village...

We stayed for 2 nights on a Travelzoo deal and were very impressed with both the hotel and the restaurant. Excellent value. Every member of staff we met was very friendly and welcoming, food was excellent and the room was beautifully presented. Went for lunch here on Easter Sunday. Nice traditional surroundings. Very welcoming host who looked after us (7) very well. As well as the traditional Sunday Roast of Beef, Turkey or Pork there was a good choice of alternatives for those who did not want a roast. I had the roast pork which was excellent. Vegetables were served in piping...
