We only stopped for lunch but would like to return. We had one of the best ploughman's we've had in along time. We asked them to exclude celery and were offered an alternative. The hotel looks lovely and clean and they were dog friendly. Set in a lovely location if the accommodation is as good as the food and service...

Thank you for your kind review which we very much appreciate. The ploughman's lunch is a very popular lunch dish and guests always comment on how generous the portions are. We are very fortunate to have such wonderful surroundings which attract customers throughout the year. Hopefully we will see you again in the near future.

I have passed on your comments to Hayley and John as well as the other staff who were on duty during your stay. Thank you for your comments about the quality of the food - both evening meal and breakfast. We work very hard to ensure that our menus reflect the local area and that we maintain consistency of quality....

Asked for beef burger with no chips, did not get offered anything to compensate, it was dreadful, £25.00 for two meals, NEVER again, had to wait seemed like ages to get served at the bar. Nice posh place but WHY do people HOG the bar??? Why do they not move away and let someone get served????

Thank you for your review of your evening meal. At The Hunters Inn we have two bars, a busy public bar, that is frequented by lots of locals and walkers alike predominantly for drinking, and a restaurant bar where there are no bar stools and there is always plenty of room. If you had booked a table in the restaurant...

Attended this on saturday night - what a great evening, good music, good beer and a really friendly atmosphere- our party of seven had a really good evening, We thought the whole thing was well organised, barely had to queue at the bar as we tried lots of ales and cider, the garden made a natural arena so we could...

Thank you for your review about the Beer Festival. It is a very popular event with all ages, including family groups and we see the numbers grow each year. The gardens ,as you say, make the perfect back drop to the stage creating a wonderful arena for the musicians to play in. Everyone had a great time, sampling the huge...

We only stopped off for a light lunch having the beef sandwich and vegetable panini. Both were excellent and the staff seemed equally so. Very clean and welcoming to dogs which is not always the case. Menu has a good selection of vegetarian options Highly recommended

Thank you for your kind review which we do appreciate. The inn has been very busy with walkers and their dogs who we always welcome. Thank you for your comments about the menu which I have passed on to chef and the kitchen staff.

Your comments are very kind and appreciated by all here at the Hunters Inn. The ploughman's lunch that you mention is very popular and a light bite that we keep on throughout the year. The staff take a pride in the welcome that they give to customers and it is good to know that this is appreciated - thank you....

My wife and I popped in on a wet Sunday evening whilst returning to ilfracombe, intending to have meal after first having a "drying off" drink. Entered via Bar and waited for a young chap who had seen us enter to cease entering details on the electronic till. He just kept pressing more buttons without any eye contact or so...

I am sorry that your experience was disappointing and would like give you some background information. Having made some enquiries I learn that the young chap concerned was unwell and had to go home before the end of service. He had been moved off waiting duties to the bar as he was unable to cope with the level of service...

We first stayed at the Hunters Inn 30 years ago and have been back a few times now over the intervening years. Last time was 5 years ago when the new dining area with picture window had been created. We have just returned from a stay over the August Bank holiday. Wow it's got even better, the bar has been...

How wonderful that you have visited the Hunters Inn so many times over the last 30 years. Over that period there have been many changes as you say, and we have very much continued in this vain. We have invested time and money into the fabric of the building because we feel that the Hunters is living history, a place...

Your comments are very kind and much appreciated by all the staff. If you want a destination that is away from it all then the Hunters Inn will certainly fit the bill! Traffic and crowds we don't have, just clean air and beautiful surroundings and at the end of the day a pint in the warm surroundings of the Hunters...

We stayed in sunflower lodge. It's attached to the hotel but fine self catering facilities. Which worked well as the bride stayed with us on the eve of her wedding and prepared with us next morning - lots of tea coffee - and champagne. The setting is spectacular, the staff most obliging and friendly. All was so well thought out...

Thank you for the review of the Hunters Inn that you kindly posted. It was lovely that you could all stay together, the night before Lisa's wedding in Sunflower Lodge.
