We stayed at Longlands in Sept 2020. Jez and Tammy are so welcoming, very kind and make sure their home feels like your home. Every touch is so well thought out. We stayed in the Long Barn which was perfect for us with kids aged 2 and 6 months - good bathroom facilities, washing machine, well equipped kitchen, high chair, travel cot etc.......The grounds are beautiful and our 2 year old loved the football net, boules court, rowing on the rowing lake and fishing in the stream. We booked two nights in the hot tub, which is SUCH luxury for tired parents. The larder is stocked with lovely food (Cook products to save us having to cook anything) and wine (Jez knows his stuff). There is so much to do in the region and we want to go back time and time again. Looking forward to staying in a Lodge!

really gorgeous, luxury yet down to earth. honesty shop is so handy (and well stocked) and the hot tub experience was wonderful - so much so we did it twice - the kids loved it too! The "tents" themselves were fantastic - we had one issue with the mattress and it was addressed straight away. Jez and Tammy were so helpful on local info. recommend and would return!

Tammy and Jez were wonderful, thoughtful hosts who ensured that we enjoyed a truly magical stay at Longlands that will live long in the memory. The lodge is fantastic with high quality bedding, furnishings and utensils right down to the choice of toiletries. The attention to detail (like everything at Longlands) shines through. The farm shop is amazing and the quality of products meant we were more than happy eating in most nights and sampling the wonderful choice of wine. The location is truly special and the valley offers wonderful views from the deck and BBQ area. The children LOVED swimming & boat rides on the lake. It was great to let them go off on their own and explore the nearby woodland and streams. Would highly recommend the sunset hot tub and again, the changing hut and drinks area was perfectly done. There are an abundance of things to do and places, beaches to see in the surrounding areas. A few suggestions to add to other's recommendations would be surfing at Saunton Sands or Croyde, walking at Watersmeet, Lynmouth and Lynton, marvelling at the breathtaking Valley of the Rocks and fish and chips at Squires in Braunton. Lastly, a special thanks to Tammy for organising a truly memorable surprise 70th birthday lunch for my Father. The barn is a great space for any function and the lunch that Tammy prepared was lovely with local meats, fish and vegetables. In summary, it was simply perfect and we're aiming to return as soon as possible.

This place is absolutely wonderful and I would highly recommend for even the most discerning traveller. It’s a stunning location with only 5 lodges and very friendly, personalised attention with a nice balance of privacy/freedom and support on hand. We arrived late Friday (Tammy was very accommodating re late arrival) and were greeted by a smiling Jez who showed us to our lodge and gave us a quick but comprehensive tour and instructions on how to light the stove/log burner for hot water. The kids were off exploring straight away and met some other children - that’s the instant vibe of this place. The lodge itself is gorgeous - spacious and comfortable with everything you need. White Company bedding, tasteful interior furnishings and lovely toiletries make it a more luxurious experience than many glamping sites. The deck and bbq area both provide beautiful sunset views over fields and out to sea. Things we love - lovely owners who are on hand to advise and their kids make great guides too! - stunning location is even better than in the photos - farm shop with essentials and thoughtful extras - delicious local honey and jam and even a rounders set! - in the area - beautiful beaches a short drive away - lake to wild swim and row a boat with kids life jackets as needed - very child friendly but adult sophisticated feel Things we did offsite - Putsborough was our favourite beach by a long way. Or walk to Middle Beach - best parking on Marine Drive (from Woolacombe and drive all the way to the end) then walk down the dunes for a less busy beach day. - surf lessons with Ollie at Hunter Surf - riding at Dean stables - pizza from the van called Stoned in the Woolacombe car park early evening and sit and the cliffs to watch sunset - Captain’s Table (dinner) and Beachcomber (lunch) both nice meals in Woolacombe - Broadsands beach - you need to brave 200 steps! Sundown drinks at Sandy Cove Hotel Things to note - it’s a very steep climb to the car park and the bbq areas - fine for able/active people and well disclosed by the owners. Not an issue but worth knowing what to expect - we did get a few insect bites including a tick from the long grass so pack the repellent! Thanks so much Jez and Tammy - I hope to return soon and recommend this place highly!

Had a great weekend at the Long barn. The accommodation was great - first rate decor and facilities - and we enjoyed every minute. Stayed with friends who were glamping and shared their bbq pitch and log fire (although we did have own). Great for family and friends. Would definitely recommend.
