A very friendly, family run inn, set in beautiful countryside, where we enjoyed a short stay. The food and facilities were both excellent and the room had everything we needed. We appreciated being able to control the heating and open the window at night. There are some lovely walks directly from the front door.

We were looking for an iconic inn, located along the Coleridge Way (which we were hiking) and this lovely inn was exactly what we hoped it would be. Not only was the room comfortable and well-furnished, but the pub and restaurant are absolutely topnotch: the ales and gourmet meal were fabulous.

Simply perfect, Country pub with a homely feel. Very welcoming & relaxing. Many guests had dogs, if you want somewhere to bring your four legged friend then this is it. Lovely food, all usual pub favourites plus a specials board. We found the portions quite large & delicious. Parking looks limited but proceed down the lane on the left that... More

We stayed here for one night whilst doing the Coleridge Way Walk. From checking in we were greeted cordially. The accommodation is situated away from the bar with its own guests sitting room. When we stayed there were quite a few guests staying, and it is an extremely dog friendly place. It is situated in a lovely location in Exmoor... More

This is the third time we have visited this place in the past 20 years. First visit was fantastic. Second was a disarter and we checked out early. Now the staghunters has been turned around into a great place to stay and eat with extremely fair rates. We stopped with our dog and was made welcomed along with the assorted... More

Up on reaching the area we wanted to visit we decided to stay as it is so nice! As nothing was available we were send here where there was a room free. Rooms are a bit basic in a way but adequate. Ours had a balcony of sorts where it was nice sitting contemplating life. I did not appreceate the... More

We stopped in by chance for a meal 5pm and spent a lovely relaxed hour in the bar before the food service started at 6pm. We enjoyed a top notch meal at very reasonable prices. The venison was superb! would definitely recommend.

We stopped by here at the recommendation of a family member (who referred to The Staghunters as the best pub he'd ever visited!) and we were not disappointed! The menu is sizable and has something for even the fussiest of diners, I opted for the Gammon special they had on offer and have never seen a gammon steak so big!... More

Excellent meal (Sunday lunch) which was hot and very tasty with good portions. Veg could have been a bit softer but no real complaints and will definitly go back. Friendly bar /waiting staff and is dog friendly.
