Came here a few years ago and absolutely loved it. I was worried it wouldn't live up to our memories but shouldn't have worried. Friendly, relaxing, convivial. Great food including fab breakfasts, and all for a very reasonable price. One of my favourite walks ever takes in the lovely, rushing river and surrounding forest, then some time looking around Lynmouth,...

This Inn was set in a remote valley in Exmoor yet only 6 miles from the coast. It was very relaxed and welcoming. The room was homely, comfortable with all we needed for our stay. The food was excellent, very tasty and great value and went well with the local cider. Some good walking routes from the front door. Staff...

An enchanting pub with exceptionally good customer service and comfortable rooms, which ticks every box. Highly recommended for a relaxing break away (or a good local craft ale) in an authentic and beautiful Exmoor setting.

We spent 4 lovely nights at the Rockford Inn, cannot fault this Inn ,so cosy and friendly with great food which is well presented, and a good selection of local real ales . The rooms are spotless, and nothing is to much trouble. This inn is ideally situated for exploring Exmoor. Can thoroughly recommend The Rockford Inn. Tony and Sheila...

It's about an hours drive for us to get to Rockford but always worth it. We tend to park up, usually, at Countisbury and make The Rockford Inn our half way stopping point for a pub lunch. Usually visit 3 or 4 times a year and have always enjoyed the excellent food, beer and hospitality provided. Cotleigh beers from the...

Another amazing return visit to destress from a long working week. Staff friendly and accommodating as always making us and the dogs welcome. A perfect starting point for many superb Autumnal walks! Food seemed even better than before and a lovely atmosphere in the bar, which was virtually full. A family crisis meant that we had to urgently return home...

Its a neat trick when a pub can feel welcoming and relaxing when you are the only customers there. This was us at the beginning of service on a misty November mid week lunch time. Food and service excellent. We returned at 1830 on Saturday evening to find the pub packed out mainly with residents. Once again the welcome is...

An excellent pub with accommodation, ideally situated for those who want to explore north Exmoor on foot. The pub has excellent beers and delicious big portion food, both ideal for finishing off a days walking. The accommodation is comfortable, clean and as good as you'd hope for in an old country pub. Breakfasts are well cooked, substantial and have all...
