Having read other reviews I was a bit unsure about this. Yes it's a bit cluttered and could do with a dust, but it's trying to be post office, a B and B, a local shop and a pub so it's going to be cluttered. It didn't feel one a tourist trap as so many of these places in Devon...

As there was 6 of us plus 4 dogs we couldn't get in the Ferryboat Inn, which as it turns out is very small! Having asked if there was anywhere else we were told there was a pub up the road, asked what is was like the answer was "no comment". I mention this as we weren't sure what to...

Very messy with junk in every room. The greasy food which is served is from the freezer. Leaving the cardboard delivery boxes by the front door was a big giveaway! Excessively mouldy carrots left outside the kitchen door on top of the piano, slightly worrying! A building which has potential but is manned by grumpy and untidy people. Clean sheets...

we had not been to Dittisham near Dartmouth for nine years and it was great to be back in the area. the red lion has changed through necessity and now incorporates the post office and the local shop as well as the bandb and pub restaurant It is definetly unlike any other pub, but that is its charm the beer...

Firstly, I agree with the previous comment, that this is a community pub that serves not only holiday makers and visitors, but a community that actually lives there! More villages need this sort of facility instead of sterile, faceless pubs all serving the same trendy food. I love this kind of eating too, but the Red Lion is unique in...

My partner and I recently stayed here for 2 nights and cannot fault the room (8) for cleanliness and the view. We did find the ensuite arrangement a bit unusual - arched doorway with only a curtain - but the bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast very tasty. The saw no sign at all of dog faeces. We found...

Thank you to the team at the Red Lion for making our break in Devon really enjoyable. We were a large group, we all said we couldn't fault anything during our four night stay, excellent food including daily fresh fish and lovely breakfast, large clean rooms with good views and we felt very well looked after. All set in a...

Visited here on Saturday afternoon with a group of cyclists. It was like walking into a Western Saloon in an unfriendly frontier town. The village is fine, it was the total lack of customer care that was borderline unfriendly in the pub that was the problem. I thought we had walked into a private party, we were looked at, and...

we visited this pub and were disgusted by the amount of dog faeces next to the terrace and on the lawn, how anyone can eat a meal outside is beyond comprehension.I would give this pub a definite miss.I have awarded one star too many. This pub/ grocers/ post officice should be shut down.

How this place has changed as it is part social centre, part shop, part post office, part hotel and B+B. We had excellent beer, excellent food and breakfast. Our bedroom was a decent size and the bath was lovely, something I rarely have. I would visit again .
