We have always stayed in a travel lodge on trips to Devon/Cornwall Their are basic but always clean and comfortable to stay in. We are down again in may so.we be in a Travel lodge again in st austell which is are favourite travel lodge .
The travelodge is well located for touring, but there are few amenities next door - 24hr garage; limited opening Subway and limited hour (but high standard) cafe/restaurant Hog & Hedge (NB. Not open in the Evenings)
Very comfortable stay, large clean room, TV tea and coffee etc. Bed extremely comfortable. On arrival, greeted by Anne-Marie who went out of her way to ensure everything was ok for us. We had originally booked for our dog to come with us but in the end he didn't and Anne-Marie…
This Travelodge is situated on the A30 and is ideal for visiting Dartmoor and the surrounding areas. There is a place for meals onsite and a superb pub with delicious food is just five minutes walk away.
The Whiddon Down Travelodge is a useful place fr a stopover when leaving Cornwall late in the evening for destinations further up country. The Hog & Hedge restaurant next door does an excellent breakfast to start the next day. We've stayed here before and will do again, no doubt.
"ask for a room overlooking the car park for the quietest rooms. The A30 isn't far away, so there is some traffic noise."
"Quite clean rooms, no issues "
"Rear rooms best."
"Ground floor room was near car park but we were not disturbed by outside noise"
"Choose a room in another hotel"
