Good points: Superb building, loads of charm and atmosphere, big log fire in the main bar, good choice of beers. Room cleaned and made up to a high standard everyday. Staff helpful. Room decor very good. Evening meals and cooked breakfast faultless. Not so good points: shower cubical (room 19) was the smallest I have ever seen, only just about...

We stayed for a week in July. This was our 3rd visit and we weren't disappointed. The place had just been taken over by new management and you could already notice little improvements. That's not to say it wasn't good before but this time if we were waiting at the bar someone would make sure that we were served. It...

After a lovely autumn walk around Fernworthy Reservoir, we decided to have a late lunch at The Three Crowns. What a great choice. The conservatory was bright, sunny and welcoming. Very friendly and attentive service. Interesting drinks choices Varied and tasty menu. We were delighted with our choices and enjoyed our lunch. Thoroughly recommend.

Super service, imaginative menu, good wine list, very tasty and well presented food, special surrounds blending the ancient and modern, not a bad word to say! There are probably cheaper places in Chagford - which is itlself a lovely old market town - but, in my view, the Three Crowns is the place to go to.

We stayed for 3 nights with our 2 dogs in one of the courtyard rooms. We ate there all 3 nights as the food was so good. Virtually all the staff are very welcoming and offer a high service. The standout lady was the one at breakfast. A lot of thought had gone into the drinks menu - lots of...

We had a very pleasant dinner for four on the evening of the opening of the Chagford Film Festival and a family dinner for nine a few days before. The menu was well thought out and the staff helpful when sorting out meals for the children. The atmosphere is much more upbeat than it was three years before when we...

We recently visited the Three Crowns during our week in Dartmoor. It is dog-friendly and has a lovely atmosphere and good customer service. We enjoyed an afternoon tea here during our first visit, and returned days later for an evening meal. Sadly our evening meal was disappointing for two members of our party, who both ordered the sirloin steak. The...

We stayed 3 years ago and we were delighted with the area and hotel and the food. This time the hotel's communal hallways were grubby and the room we were given was incredibly small, dingy and tired. The food was mainly fine although I did have one of the worst puddings I've ever tasted -chocolate beer cake with smoked custard....the...

The Three Crowns saved my bacon! I am running an online business & launching a new course on Menopause this week, but found the owners of the holiday cottage we go to (which is always amazing, hence us returning twice a year for 18 years) have not been able to upgrade their broadband, so the service has deteriorated especially in...
