Our second visit to Gidleigh Park and if possible even better than the first. Beautiful setting, wonderful house and superb service from all the staff. If you are seeking a tranquil retreat as a couple this is difficult to beat. The restaurant is well worth its 2 Michelin stars.

This was our fifth visit. Superb location with wonderful grounds. Friendly staff and well maintained and equipped rooms. Simply wonderful dining experience, fully deserved it's awards. Thoroughly recommended

The grounds at Gidleigh Park are beautiful and very well maintained. The interior decor seemed dated and the service was less than stellar. We had high expectations for our stay based on other reviews and were disappointed. Take a night in the little town of Chagford.

Could not fault the hotel or restaurant, from the moment we drove up through the beautiful gardens and woodland we were enchanted. The staff were welcoming and friendly, our room was not quite ready so we had drinks and nibbles out on the terrace in the sunshine, taking in the magnificent view, so relaxing. Our room when we checked in...

We had a lovely stay and the hotel is in a most idyllic location. We had a number of beautiful walks with our dog and had a delicious dinner. The staff were all incredibly friendly but not all of them were audible or helpful. Trying to listen to the (very helpful and friendly) waiter explaining what we were eating was...

A spur of the moment decision to re-visit an old haunt, we decided to call in for tea before visiting friends in the area. Thank you, Alex, for looking after us so well and for honouring an earlier promise. Tea commenced with a variety of freshly made finger sandwiches and Darjeeling tea followed by plain and fruited scones. The usual...

We had three nights in The Pavillion a gorgeous dog friendly two bedroomed , self contained suite in the grounds of the hotel and it was super seclusion and serenity. We have stayed many times before in the gorgeous spa suite but this was the best of the dog friendly options available. It stands within the grounds and due to...
