We stayed at the Mill End Hotel as a stop over on our way down to St.Ives and wish we had stayed longer! The hotel is in a lovely peaceful setting for accessing some lovely walks. It is a dog friendly hotel, with a boot room that the dogs can be cleaned up after their walks.

We called in here for a high tea, the food was excellent and the hotel is very quaint. You are met by caring staff who get the balance just right between being attentive and leaving you too much alone. What would have made this excellent was if the food had been taken off the

Our German shepherd came with us and was made to feel thoroughly welcome. She got some doggy biscuits as a treat on arrival. There is a separate room with towels for the dogs to dry off before going back to your room. The room was lovely. It’s in the middle of nowhere so

Thank you for your kind words and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry if you felt cut off but most guests find our location actually quite accessible compared to some Dartmoor hotels with Chagford just 5 minutes away and the A30 so close with miles of walks from the doorstep. We hope to see you again another time

Is there disabled access in the hotel?
HI We have a junior suite with ramp access and a wet room shower room suitable for disabled guests with an able bodied helper. The hotel internally has 3 steps from the public areas to the bathrooms so the best option is to call us to discuss before making a reservation

are you within walking distance of any good pubs?
You are about a 5 minute walk from a pub. Think its called The Sandy Park Inn. We had a great time there as my sister had her wedding at The Mill End and we escaped for a couple of hours. Good range of real ales. Staff were very pleasant. Food looked good when it came out. It's a 5 minute walk from the hotel but no pavement. Normally its quite a quiet road. No street lighting either.

Are children welcome
Thank you for your enquiry. Yes, children are very welcome at Mill End! There is plenty for everyone to see, enjoy and do here in the glorious Dartmoor National Park. We don't have a children's menu in the restaurant, but your little one(s) can always enjoy just one or two courses from our main menu (or a light savoury supper which can be served for children at 6pm if that's better for you). We have a Family Room, which has a double bed, a single bed, and space for an extra fold-out bed if required. We also have several other rooms which can accommodate a fold-out bed. Please don't hesitate to call us on 01647-432282 if we can be of assistance. I do hope that you'll visit us at Mill End - you'll be very welcome! Kind regards Mike Coombes Managing Director Mill End Hotel
