What a fantastic find this hotel was! Very accessible from the A38 and yet you wouldn't notice it's close by. We had a small dog and they only charged £5 for her stay and went out of their way to make a fuss and offer treats which was very kind. Key things for us : - excellent location for the...

A family run hotel close to the motorway but you hear no noise! Upon arrival I was extremely impressed with the way the young receptionist on duty handled a very difficult call. All the staff are extremely helpful. The menu offers great choices of lovely local produce. The attractive restaurant is separated from the bar area by a well lit...

This is a large out of town hotel/bar/ restaurant, just of rage A road. The bar is quite nice with a good selection of local ales. The food can be taken in the bar or the restaurant, and there is a good selection of options including a nice calvary. The family I visited visit often and said the food is...

We booked a carvery for family & friends to celebrate our Ruby Wedding. They didn't disappoint from booking right through to the end of day. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was to its normal very high standard. Can't recommend this highly enough. Well done the Dartmoor Lodge!!

It was very busy when we dropped by for lunch on a Saturday. The place was packed and with two large group bookings as well. Nevertheless the welcoming staff found us a table for two and the service was excellent as was the food. All this despite the bar and restaurant being very busy and we did not have a...

We stayed here over a weekend when visiting Ashburton, the rooms were old fashioned and dated but the beds were clean and the towels are fresh. There is tea coffee and a hairdryer . The shower was hot and bathroom clean although again very dated. We had a lovely cooked breakfast with plenty of food tea and coffee. The staff...

Sunday carvery was quite delicious and heaping portions. Particularly enjoyed the roast pork and the turkey. Roast potatoes were quite good and I really enjoyed the parsnips as well. It was quite enjoyable.

Took visitors for Sunday lunch and couldn't ask for better service, quality of food, and good value for money. You can stick to bar meals, or go for something more fancy. Either way, you shall not be disappointed.
