We have been visiting The Sloop for at least 25 years and on our annual January week in Salcombe we headed over to Bantham for Sunday lunch. After a bracing walk on the beach we headed to the pub for our 2.30 booking. Our table was ready reserved for us and as usual the place was full providing a nice...

Situated so close to Bantham beach, the Sloop Inn is a welcomed pit stop after a walk. The staff we met and served us were so friendly and work tirelessly. Its has a really warm atmosphere and we all felt relaxed as soon as we entered. The beef roast dinner was utterly delicious, beautifully presented and didnt take long to...

What does a person wanting a beer look for ? A pub. Right. What does a beer drinker look for in a pub ? Good beer. Right. I drank the first and realised the over charge either by intent or accident when I ordered the second. Ambiance? Oh so tired. Warmth. Sadly the pleasant log burner did not compensate for...

We go here for a meal at least once when we come down every year, a great cosy eating place. Get booked in a couple of days before you plan to eat as it gets real busy especially on a Friday/Saturday and Sunday Lunch. Cant recommend the place enough!

5 stars aren't enough! We were very lucky to get a table at this busy pub restaurant. The Sloop is the exception in an area where I have low expectations of mediocre carvery meals with food being kept hot for far too long. Four of us had freshly cooked roast beef, which was served rare and absolutely excellent. The other...

Really nice little pub with some amazing food (esp seafood dishes). A fine array of ales and very friendly folk at the helm. We stayed in a rather quirky but very comfortable room at the back of the pub. The inside of the place is done out like a boat / ship. A bit weird at first, but I liked...

Firstly... Dog greeted & looked after Secondly... Fabulous Vino Thirdly... Best Roast I've had all Yr. Closely followed by their delectable Sticky Toffee Pud & ice cream. Always Book & sit in Bar the Bar area. Take a stroll to the Beach after then back for more open fire, dogs & vino. What more could you ask on a Sunday....

Great location for walks with the dog onto the part of the beach that dogs are allowed on all year, I think the restrictions are lifted after September, but there is plenty of the beach open all year for dogs. The Sloop Inn is a little gem, the rooms are basic but adequate, however we didn't spend much time in...
