This was my first visit to Southern Ireland, this hotel we booked after a google search.
The hotel is a lovely place to stay the 2 owners go out of their way to look after their guests, the internal decor is immaculate and the rooms are more than adequate, very organised and very clean and fresh.
The location is within easy reach of town and close to tourist attractions. The grounds are well kept and are a lovely location to sit and watch the world go by. The breakfast is cooked fresh and is served quickly and there is a lot choose from. It really sets you up for the day.
There is off road parking which is secure.
I will definitely be.coming back there are some.lovely places to visits and walks to do, the parks and old houses to visit are great, we loved the deers and lakes.

Stayed here during a night out in NCW. Carmel & Charlie are amazing, made me feel like I'd been staying there for years. The house is beautiful, it's like something out of a storybook. It's not modern, no way, but that's it's charm, plus no amount of bells and whistles beats proper hospitality. The plasterwork on the ceilings and cornicing is like something from a stately home. I will definitely stay again, even if I don't need to .... ❤

What we loved most about this place were the owners: truly wonderful and very friendly. Breakfast is served by them and you can ask for both continental and typical Irish breakfast.
Unfortunately we had a room with separate beds and not a double bed and the bathroom was after a small space which also opened onto another room and the door which separated our space from the rest of the house did not close, but it could be closed bedroom. The furnishings are fine, but the bathroom is in its original state and only a hand shower has been added to the tub. In general it's fine to stop for a night. The English garden is very nice.

Carmel will instantly make you feel welcomed and at home. She is a wealth of information on the surrounding area and will gladly help you plan any trips. On arrival she helped us to our room and we happily chatted for another 20 minutes. The beds were the comfiest we slept in whilst in Ireland. Such a great price and the breakfast was perfect! We are both gluten free and Carmel made sure we could eat a hearty breakfast before leaving in the morning. Good wifi connection in all of the rooms.
*GF note. The Fitzgerald Woodlands Hotel in Adare is a 15 minute drive and serves great gluten free food and desserts.

We stayed here one night and it was wonderful. We were with our daughter and son-in-law. Our room faced the road and their room faced the fields behind the house. Both rooms were tastefully decorated. We had a huge bathroom, complete with a tub and bidet. From our room we saw a beautiful sunset and our daughter and son-in-law got to see cows that came running towards the house when they thought there was food for them. The grounds are gorgeous. Lots of flowers and a sitting area out front to the side of the house.
The hosts were delightful. Breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious and plentiful. We had a good night’s sleep. The furniture in the common room (part of the dining area) was very comfy. Restaurants aren’t walkable so we drove a short distance to dinner.
The only glitch we had is that we were told upon arrival that it was cash only, which we were not aware of (we had booked through Expedia and did not see anything about cash payments). Luckily there is a Tesco just down the road and we went to the ATM for cash.
I would stay here again if I found myself in Ireland again.

We stayed there on our way to limerick. The home is 15 min from Adare, very conveniently located.
Carmen is a lovely hostess! We felt immediately welcome! The room was clean, conveniently furnished with a kettle in the room. The bathroom was clean and adequate but beware that the shower is very tiny (may be to tiny for a person of larger corpulence). We are traveling. On a motorbike and this was the middle of our stay: Carmen graciously offered her laundry machine, and even took my clothes in when they were dry!
As for the comment about the single room: it may have been a misunderstanding. Carmen had a bad fall a couple of weeks ago, breaking her wrist and brushing her face. Coming home from the hospital, they had to turn down some guests as she needed a couple of days to recuperate. I suspect that is what was meant, even if it may not had been understood adequately. I highly recommend the Ballingowan Housw to anyone.

I was playing a gig in the area and it was amazing service from the start. greeted at the door, asked about breakfast which was nice, there was no problem coming in late from the gig, and the house itself is a beautiful house, beautiful room and the couple who run it are the nicest, most polite and obliging people. great breakfast served, anything you want is there. over all its a 10/10.

We recently had the pleasure of staying in Carmel & Charlie,s beautiful house, the warm friendly greeting we received after a long drive was very much appreciated, Charlie even dropped us to our destination in his own car to allow us enjoy our night out, after a lovely nights sleep in our Georgian style room we were served a delicious full Irish breakfast, in this very professional, very friendly, family run B&B. We will definitely make a return visit, and will recommend this beautiful pink {landmark} house to others.

Carmel was a gracious hostess, welcoming us into her home with a cup of tea and sweet bread. The accommodations were very nice and the breakfast was very good. I would highly recommend this B & B to fellow travelers.

The owner was very kind, attentive and hospitable. She gave us the names of some restaurants in the area to try for dinner and the one we picked was excellent. The breakfast was very good and she was flexible with the time that we asked for. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
