Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very rude staff. Walked around the grounds before going in for a coffee and was interrogated as to why I was there. No other hotel does this! Put up signs if you don't want people walking the grounds. Changed my mind about the coffee and left! Won't be going back any time soon.

What a fabulous Country House Tinakilly is - everything was just perfect - our room was lovely and the breakfast was lovely. A warm welcome to us - we left saying to each other that we would be back as soon as possible!

We are a family of five adults and one young child. We had a fabulous 3 course meal each this evening. Good selection of wines and lovely coffee to finish. We all agreed that the experience from begging to end was lovely. The restaurant was so nicely presented. The staff were professional and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend anyone going to Tinakilliy house for any accession. Well done all.

I have come out of "Review" retirement to share a most awful experience of trying to deal with the management of Tinakilly Country House Hotel. In brief, at a wedding there in early April. Most everything else was fine but there was no hot water in our room on the day of arrival or on the following morning. Only reported it on the following morning before breakfast but was essentially ignored, not even offered any facility to shower before we undertook our 2.5 hour car journey home. It appeared that a full floor of rooms had this problem. We didn't make a fuss so as to ruin the vibe of the wedding party but contacted the hotel subsequently via their webpage, by telephone, by email and formally by letter. No response, not even acknowledgement, received. Failte Ireland contacted the hotel on our behalf but they too were ignored. I wrote a final letter on 19th October and, you guessed it, that was similarly spurned. One would think that such an establishment would engage with customers as readily as they do when they are accepting your money, if only to be appropriately well mannered! It is not surprising that the latest reviews published here are of a negative nature, but the management obviously believe that their customers will accept such behaviours. I certainly will not.

If I could rate it on a minus scale for customer service, I would have. Booked an anniversary meal in the restaurant, confirming it by phone on the day, turned up that evening an hotel closed. This was in mid-August! Despite numerous requests to contact them by phone messages, emails and even resorted to Twitter, still no response over 2 months later. Completely accept mistakes can happen, but it’s how you deal with them determines your attitude towards Customer Service. Used to be a lovely country house hotel but reading other travellers comments, recently something has changed here… and not for the better!

We stayed there last night for a special occasion, I booked junior suite for two nights, on arrival we asked could the heating be put on in our room and they said it would be done , so we went for a drive on our return the room was still frozen and was told the heating had just gone off I explained the rads were stone cold they sent a manager up three rads valves were broken so they appeared with an electric rad not fit to heat the bathroom, we froze for evening , the Tv was broken, tiles in bathroom were filthy, light fittings missing I asked for a refund which I didn’t receive or an apology which I requested by email, this was a wonderful hotel in its day sadly no longer the only saving grace in this whole horrible experience was the food was very good , the bar man it was his second day working there on his own at 18 All very sad

Only a review of management and booking. A summary of my experience is at the bottom. Received a 200 Euro voucher as a gift in March. Used their website to book a stay in April. Four days before we were due to go I received an email stating that they would be closed on the second night of our stay and had left a voicemail informing me of the same. I had to contact them multiple times to state that if we couldn't have both nights we would not be staying. This took numerous calls and emails to get this point across. Looking at previous reviews they appear to be using this practice alot by cancelling regular guests in favour of wedding bookings. I did not know this at the time though. My partner then attempted to book during October to be informed that they didn't have any weekends free until next year. They also attempted to state that the voucher was only for weekdays at which point I had to intervene and stated that it was for value only without restrictions. After numerous calls just to get to this point and staff not calling us back as we requested. Finally a male manager said that he would happily refund the value of the voucher and I gave him all of my details. He said the monies would be refunded on Monday but would call if there were any issues. By Wednesday midday still no refund in my account. I sent a long email with all of the facts and what I was told and requested someone to call me back ASAP with an update. Friday afternoon I received a call informing me that the refund had been processed and should be in my account this afternoon. I asked that I had been told that this would happen on Monday. The lady apologised and stated that she wasn't aware of that at which point I informed her that it was also stated in my email. Summary This is the most disappointing interaction that I have ever had with a hotel booking. The only way to summarise this is to say the following. If you have booked a room not part of a wedding don't be surprised if it's cancelled at short notice because as a single ordinary customer you do not matter to them.

We stayed here for three nights and a wedding. The grounds are just gorgeous and you can tell lots of care had been taken. The staff (Rocio, you're the best!) are so courteous and helpful. Always a smile! The rooms were just great! We had an ocean and horse pasture view. Did I mention we had an ocean AND horse pasture view??? We definitely will stay here again on our next trip. We also thought the rates were extremely fair.

My husband & I were at a family friends wedding on the 30th June. we had a fantastic day and nite The wedding was outside . The hotel is beautiful and the surroundings outside and scenery. We stayed in the Robins nest room. It was lovely and so homely. The staff were great through the day and night from the reception staff through to the catering staff at the wedding. The wedding meal was lovely. The breakfast was lovely and the breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be back again there. Mary and Tommy

Our guests were delighted with their evening at Tinakilly - and wowed as soon as they got off the buses. The garden is an absolute credit to whoever looks after it. I couldn't take two steps without being congratulated about the venue. The Pavilion is a delightful space, the meal was wonderful, the service impeccable, and the Maitre D helpful at every step. Tinakilly will be remembered by all who were there that night. Cameras were hopping!
