After nearly 5 weeks travelling through Ireland Pinewood Lodge was the best b&b. A warm welcome, spacious warm and spotlessly clean room, and a superb breakfast. Mary is friendly, efficient, and most accommodating for all sorts of requests - from a tape measure to space for cleaning and packing up bicycles. I can't recommend Pinewood Lodge highly enough - and for hikers it's right on the Wicklow Way - but make sure you book first!

Great location for anyone walking in Glendalough/ Laragh. Perfect location for walking the Wicklow Way. Very good B&B. We've stayed hete on two occasions. Large well appointed rooms and bathrooms. Very good breakfasts with good choice. Proprietors are professional, friendly and laid back which makes the place feel very welcoming. Recommended.

I wanted to visit Wicklow Mountains/the valley and the old Glendalough ruins, but realised quite late that you can only have around 3hrs in the park if you make a day trip out of it by bus. So, I booked a room in Pinewood Lodge very last minute. The couple who runs the lodge were SUPER flexible: I was able to leave my luggage at the house when I arrived in Glendalough, so I could leave for a hike straightaway, and then they made me a breakfast bag to go, when I told them that I'd be leaving very early in the morning to catch the bus back to Dublin. My room was nice, comfortable and quite spacious, and the en suite was clean, nice and comfy. The location is really good: it's close to the old monastic city and the national park and hiking trails, and it's also really close to

I was coming to Gendalough near the end of a 10 driving trip in Ireland. I called to say I needed to check in late which was no problem. Mary and Michael were great hosts. The rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean. the bed and the pillows were super comfortable! A hot pot was in the room to make tea. Breakfast was excellent. There was plenty of free parking on the premises. The hosts offered suggestions about places to eat and things to do and answered many of the questions I had about the area. The B&B was within walking distance to the two restaurants open late and a gas station that was open until 8pm. Would absolutely stay there again.

We found this B&B to be very clean and well managed. I wouldn't call this a lodge as that sounds like an older place with a big fire burning. This is a modern house with new furnishings. It would be a good place to use as a home base if you were exploring this beautiful area.
