We stayed here for one night when visiting Glendalough. The lodge is in a great location. The bedrooms were comfortable and very clean. There were some lovely common areas where we could sit and chat or read. There was always tea and coffee with biscuits available. We were made to feel so welcome.

Absolutely horrendous experience, myself and 4 staff members brought our 4 residents with an intellectual disability on their very first holiday ever, booked online and then rang to confirm, because of the men's needs we would need the house to ourselves. So we confirmed that we booked out all the rooms so it would be only us in the house. When we arrived there after driving an hour and a half, they told us that there was other people staying in the house therefore we weren't able to stay! We were left outside with no where to stay. No apologies the manager was so rude on the phone! No hospitality at all! We asked if the men could use the bathrooms after a long drive. We were told to be quite (3/4 men are non verbal) one of the staff tried to stop one of the men from moving! We were left outside the house for over an hour trying to find somewhere else as it was the men's first holiday so we didn't want to go home and ruin their experience! Not even offered a drink of water on such a hot day. Left in cars trying to sort everything out! Absolutely disgraceful for these men to have to endure the disregard and embarrassment of being stared at, hushed, and preventing from walking within the premises!

Would highly recommend for couples or families. Trooperstown Lodge is an amazing place to stay the Lodge itself is spotless and full of interesting pieces of decor. Erica who works in the lodge is one of the nicest people we have ever came across and made our stay all that much better. Thank you so much.

We stayed at Trooperstown Lodge as part of our honeymoon trip around Ireland. It’s a lovely place! It wasn’t exactly as expected though. It is definitely a nice B&B, but I have to admit that I thought a 4 star lodge was something different. Breakfast is available in the restaurant 2km (ish) away. It is not included in the price (weird for a B&B we thought, although we knew this before we arrived, but that was when didn’t realise it was a B&B) and is not worth the money, and they prefer it if you eat it outside at a table in the car park (this is probably negotiable). Lynham’s hotel in Laragh is better for breakfast. Trooperstown B&B is lovely, there are large communal areas where you can borrow a book or make a cup of tea (no tea-making facilities in our room). Erica, the lady who works there, could not have been more helpful and was a constant presence making sure we had everything we needed. There is a free taxi service from The Wicklow Heather restaurant which we used a couple of times and it was very handy. We walked from Laragh to Trooperstown a couple of times and there is a pavement all the way. You’d need a torch if you were to walk this way in the dark but we felt safe enough and it only takes about 20 minutes. Nearby Glendalough has lots of excellent walking trails. We were there during a spell of good weather and we saw herds of wild deer and goats.

A really really lovely place to stay. Erika our host was superb, so kind and attentive and genuine. This lady deserves an award as best host ever. She looked after us so well, nothing was left to chance. Looking forward to a return visit soon and that recipe for goulash!

Stayed here over the weekend with friends, Erika was the most amazing host! So welcoming and helpful! The property was gorgeous aswell, everything was spotless. The owner of the lodges (not sure of her name) drove us to the restaurant in Heather Lodge for dinner and one of the restaurant staff drove us back to Trooperstown after dinner aswell. Such an amazing place, so scenic, there were deer roaming around the property both days we stayed. Overall was a fab weekend and we’ll definitely be coming back again!

I accosted poor Ericka last week with our wedding guests and ourselves. I loved her so much that I had to avoid saying goodbye when we left so that I wouldn't cry. An amazing host, a very clean, and well-ran ship in a gorgeous setting! Not to mention, the food at The Wicklow Heather is some of the best food I've eaten on our lovely little island. Quiet,

From the minute we arrived, we were so well looked after. Erika was the best, always making sure everyone was comfortable, she really made the experience for us. The room was comfortable, clean and a great size for the price. It was very easy to get shuttled to and from the main restaurant which was absolutely fantastic as well! We will definitely be back here again
