I’ve never met a more passive aggressive person who works in the hospitality sector! On arrival we were greeted by the owner (think his name was Chris) who spent ten minutes giving out about having to run a B&B and how arduous it was and how annoying the bookings were. Basically hearing someone’s life story about how they hated running a B&B that you were just about to stay in! No hospitality - just smug disdain. We asked about a taxi to a nearby location which was a 3 minute drive but a 45 minute walk. He didn’t offer us a lift or a taxi option. Arrived down for breakfast at 10.25am but was smugly laughed at, and told that we had missed it, as it ended at 10am (we were not told this in advance or at check in, or would have made the 10am cut off) He would not make us any breakfast, or tea, or toast - He told us to walk to a nearby shop for a sandwich ! When we requested a later checkout (which was 11am) we were told it was too late to ask for one! Overall the experience was bad, very pricy for no B in B&B, would not recommend staying here! Nearby hotel Lynhams much better option for accommodation and good food.

Jonathan and Christopher were amazing hosts and so accommodating! We rented out the whole place for an extended family trip. Tudor Lodge was in an ideal location with everything within walking distance and the place itself was beautiful. We will definitely be back!

Pros - Very convenient for accessing walking trails in the Wicklow National Park. The B&B is a 30 minute walk from Glendalough Visitor Centre where the trails start. - Short walk to the 181 bus stop (if you’re getting St Kevin’s bus service to/from Dublin) - Clean rooms - Host was very friendly and accommodating. He allowed us to keep our bags in the B&B before check-in so that we could go on a hike. He also provided us with bowls and plates on request so we could eat in our room. He also gave us some information on walking routes. Thank you! Cons - The shower was boiling hot so we were unable to shower. The water pressure was minimal too. - We were unable to find the host in the evening when we encountered problems with the shower. - Overpriced for what we got. Price did not include breakfast. Overall, a convenient place to stay that was comfortable and served its purpose in getting us close to the National Park. However we felt it was overpriced and the boiling hot shower was unacceptable.

We got a great warm welcome from Christopher and Jonathan. The complex was just how it looks on their website - beautifully laid out. We had three families with us; anyone under the age of 70 stayed in the ample rooms in the main house and we grandparents stayed in one of the wooden cabins (as a place of peace). The cabin was charming but there was not much space around the (very comfortable) double bed in each of the two bedrooms but the private sitting area with TV was worth it. Very comfortable, spacious, house with a sunroom which made a great gathering place for the 11 of us. (As it was a very special occasion, we had booked the whole complex for privacy and Covid security)

Tudor Lodge was very flexible and accommodating when my party was joined last-minute by an extra guest. Good beds and a good shower at a good price. Lovely garden also. Convenient walk from food and drinks.

We stayed for one night in mid-September. The host was friendly and our room was great. We enjoyed our breakfast the next morning before we departed. No complaints, as all was as expected. Close enough to easily walk to the downtown area for dinner. Would stay again on our next trip through Glendalough.

Myself and my partner booked this charming B&B in late August. The host, Christopher was very witty and a thorough gentleman. He was very knowledgeable and gave us directions to the monks path to the upper lake and the jacksons falls. The breakfast was sublime and the room was immaculate. Facilities can't be faulted either. Overall a brilliant experience in this beautiful part of Ireland. We'll definitely be back again.

Over the past few years I have been visiting Glendalough with my dear friends and we have been staying at the Tudor Lodge. Jonathan, Christopher, Jane and Bugsy have become like family to us and we always return happily. The rooms are so cosy, very homely and clean. After a day of hiking, we love going "home".to this beautiful B&B. It is located in an idyllic surrounding. The service is excellent and Christopher is a wonderful entertainer. It is so enjoyable to have breakfast at the Tudor Lodge because he really makes it fun to get up and experience his enjoyable service. The variety of breakfast is super. All freshly cooked and delicious! We can't wait to go back next year. We were not able to travel this year because of the current situation. If you would like to stay at a very peaceful, friendly place where you can re-charge and feel at home, then the Tudor Lodge is the place for you. It is in walking distance to nature, shops, pubs and excellent restaurants. A must if you like a cosy home away from home. Sylvia

Mixed review, there were positives but more negatives. We were greeted with a warm welcome from a flamboyant guy who named himself as “C.C” and we went to our room which was lovely. The next day, we had nocks on our door from C.C asking us if we would like him to attend to our room, which we said no, politely, and we left for our day in Glendalough. Upon our return, we found the room was cleaned but our personal items were rearranged and gone through. The following day during our breakfast he made us uncomfortable by making appoint of sharing the personal details of his competitors and their personal lifes. Which was unprofessional and out of tone with the warm welcome of the B&B. Unfortunately, when we departed from the room, we accidentally left a jacket behind, in which we called him when we arrive home. It was on this call, we found a very rude side to C.C. In which he sounded less personable and rude than in person. We made it clear that we were happy to pay and compensate any inconvenience to return. After several phone calls he promised he would send it asap, he did not send. So, after a month, we called again to see if the jacket was still in his possession and it was. Therefore, we were forced to drive 140 kilometres to take it back. When we arrived the B&B he gave the jacked and became very abusive. Stating there was no post office, although there was one 7 minutes away. The way he spoke, I had to leave in tears. In summer nice house, nice location; at the same time very intruding and unprofessional experience.

We stayed here recently, with our dog in a dog friendly room and I must say it is a great b and b. Great breakfast, clean, quiet and the host Chris is very accommodating and helpful. If you are staying with a dog, combi cafe in Ballinacor is a 30 minute drive away which a nice dog friendly cafe.
