Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The room was spacious and clean as a whistle. Great location to explore Glendalough. Service was also excellent. Would have no issues recommending Heather House to friends and family. The only fault is no breakfast included but the restaurant next door does great food.

We chose to drive straight from the Dublin Airport to the Heather House. What could have been an easy drive, for first time Americans driving on 'the other side of the road', I'll never know, as my husband didn't listen to me. I digress. Once we arrived, it was a pure pleasure. Traveling from the USA, we were early for checkin.. A short walk (2 minutes) up the streetwise the fabulous The Heather House Restaurant. Charming, welcoming, and delicious! Our first Guinness! The staff laughed at our tales as newcomers to their country, even as I'm sure that they had heard the tales a thousand times before. And even better, remembered us on our subsequent visits over the course of our visit. As guests at The Lodge, we received a discount. A fantastic pub/restaurant down the street. A gas station and deli across the street. Dolores at the front desk. Our standards were raised for the best place to stay while in Ireland.

We felt the restaurant situation was misrepresented in the ads. The restaurant and rooms are a good walk away from each other. In rainy weather you would be very inconvenienced. Our room was very small, and lacked a way to communicate with the front desk. You had to go outside and walk around to the front of the building to speak to someone. No Kleenex in the room as well as extra towels. We booked a higher level room, but it was down two flights of concrete steps, so we had to settle for a room upstairs. We could not handle our luggage and the steps. We would not book here again. We had poor service, a difficult time with the television and no instructions in the room for it or the coffee maker. Too much trouble to walk and try to find someone to help.

A perfect country getaway! We stayed for 2 nights in room 8. We were warmly welcomed and all amenities were provided with charming small touches. Mountain views come free—and even better from the spacious lounges upstairs where one can relax with tea and biscuits. We also enjoyed the friendly restaurant next door. We’ll be back!

Walking in through the door to be greeted by the lovely Dolores I instantly felt at home. The decor at the main entrance is so warm and tasteful. My little apartment, located at the back of main building, was stunning. It was warm, peaceful, super comfortable and had all that I needed including coffee machine, lounge area, comfy queen bed and also some outdoor seating by my door. I am literally thinking of any excuse to go back and stay again. Loved it!

Wow!!! A stunning place to stay! We had a family room and access to two shared sitting and a dining area and the entre place was opulent! It was more like an Italian villa than a Wicklow hotel. The entire place was immaculately clean and everything we needed was at hand - almost. As we were hiking the Wicklow Way early morning starts are preferable and breakfast wasn't served until late (I think it was 9:30am) so we missed breakfast and had to eat elsewhere. However we did eat at Heather House restaurant the night before and had a wonderful meal which we all really enjoyed and we all said we'd be happy to go back again.

Stayed in one of the chalets, sleeps up to five persons. However we booked two persons per chalet. The chalets were decorated to a high standard, toiletries, ample towels, bed linen was top quality, warm and comfortable. Booking was for room only with optional breakfast served in the nearby restaurant. The outdoor area had garden furniture and gardens to sit out and enjoy. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed some time outside. These chalets were spotless with plentiful supply of milk, and coffee capsules for Nespresso machine. Staff were friendly and available if required. This is by far one of the best rental accommodation I have stayed in years. Thank you to all concerned.

Had a fantastic midweek 2 night stay at Heather House B&B. The staff very friendly right from our arrival. The room was very clean with plenty of space for the three of us. As a family room inside Heather House it was lovely to be able to enjoy one of three lounges and a small kitchen area with free access to tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast each morning was a very short walk to Wicklow Heather Restaurant, which was lovely. An outdooor, courtyard makes a love area to sit in if you don't want to go far in nice weather. At the restaurant the staff again were very friendly, and the food was a fantastic start to our day with great variety. We also had dinner there each evening it was so good. We will definitely be back!
