....With the babbling brook/river underneath our open window, it was a peaceful and relaxing place to sleep off our jetlag !! Very pretty view out our window and we had a view of the Wicklow Mountains... As the first overnight lodging to kick off our Ireland Adventure, I was very pleased with choosing this hotel. Staff in hotel and Jake's bar were very nice and we had plenty of space to move around inside our room. Food was delish, esp the Guinness Stew I had for dinner and the Vegetarian breakfast !! ... I really felt like we were in Ireland !! Thank You for a lovely stay !! ... I was really happy !! Your staff in the hotel and restaurant were very nice !! Kristin and Eric
The whole surroundings is scenic - from the mountains to the river running behind the hotel (bring earplugs if you like sleeping with the window open). The room was very spacious and the food in the restaurant was quite good.
We were pleased with our choice for three nights exploring the Wicklow Mountains area. The room was large, with two armchairs, quiet and clean, with a large comfortable bed (two singles put together). It was on a scenic river side location, though our room faced the other way. There was easy parking. And it was great to have the pub and pub restaurant on site - in particular we were lucky to be there one night when they had an acoustic music "jam" session. Staff were very friendly. The downsides are those that often come with traditional. In particular though the food was fine, and coffee good, there were not many veggie / "healthy" options for breakfast, with no fruit or yoghurt, or in the restaurant. No vegan options. Lots of beers but the only wines by the glass were from small plastic bottles. The decor was starting to show its age a bit, and the ceiling light in the room didn't work - not a big deal but we did let reception know and it was never fixed (we also later noticed the light above the bathroom mirror didn't work). Breakfast - served by a very friendly and efficient lady - was from 8.30 to 10.30 am, which was fine for us, but might not suit early risers.…
Me and my husband came for breakfast this morning on the way to the stunning glendalough!!! I had the vegetarian breakfast and he got the small full Irish and we also got brown soda bread toasted (MUST TRY). Our waitress Ester was brilliant in every way a very nice girl and you could really tell she loves her job. Coffees were so delicious and food was even nicer. As we left we could see a BBQ starting up and it smelt out of this world. As we were to stuffed we just browsed at the menu and they also had a lot to offer but not quite sure what time it started. The flowers outside the hotel are blooming with looks colour's and smell. Will definitely come back to try some BBQ
We were going to go to another eating place in the village but then the Lynhams was recommended to us. Excellent.Food and staff you could not fault. We had the Irish stew with mash potatoes. To die for.
I came here as a group, civil defense and from start to finish Esther and Anna looked after us to the last. Service was 100%, food was brillant, and the rooms were immaculate. Have to say the service from anna for breakfast lunch and dinner couldnt be faulted anything we asked for was done with out hesidant and she had the crac with us right the way through our 4 day visit. We will definitely be back.
Dropped in for coffee and cake here recently. what a lovely break it turned out to be. the coffee was divine as was the scone. the sticky toffee pudding was simply marvelous. But the lady who served us made our day, she was so witty and charming and obviously loves her job and it shows. Will definitely be back.
Myself and my husband had a Perfect stay in Lynham's last friday night. Ciara welcomed us warmly and explained the Covid procedures that were put in place - we immediately felt safe. Our room was No. 112 - a fabulous newly decorated room in soothing colours with beautiful furnishings and a great bathroom - it overlooked the River so it was quiet. We loved this room and the sound of the water was so relaxing. After a short walk we chilled out and went down to dinner in the River Room - all the tables were well spaced out. Our waitress was Esther and what a Gem she is - she had a big smile and friendly approach to everyone and explained the menu to us and recommended the Wine - 3 Wooley Sheep - an excellent choice. We had the Vegetable Soup and Wicklow Brie for starters - both tasty dishes. For mains we ate - the Steak Sandwich and the Wolf Beer Battered Fish n Chips - loved both but the Fish was amazing. Dessert was the Berry & Apple Crumble - Divine is the word to describe it. We finished with a lovely cup of Cappuccino. The Chef is excellent - thank you for a very memorable Meal. One thing I noticed about the Menu was that they use a lot of Local Products - this was wonderful to see and taste. Also all the tables in the Bar and Restaurant had Fresh Flowers in lovely vases on them - I loved this. Breakfast was cooked to perfection the next morning and Aoife looked after us - She was really lovely and we enjoyed a socially distanced chat while waiting on the food to arrive. She also checked us out. We felt very relaxed throughout our stay. This cosy Hotel is perfectly placed in lovely Laragh near Glendalough for any kind of a break - if you're like us and just wanted to escape from it all or if you love walking or cycling or sightseeing you couldn't pick a better place. Our genuine Thanks to all the Staff - we will return. We highly reccomend this cosy place - All you have to do is go and enjoy yourselves.…
My friend and I stayed here while hiking on the Wicklow Way and it way surpassed expectations. We were greeted by a warm, bubbly staff member on the desk who engaged with us throughout our stay. It was clear she loves meeting people and the warm welcome made such a difference. We ate in the restaurant that evening where we were served by super friendly, attentive staff and felt perfectly comfortable with the Covid set up. Hand sanitisers everywhere and seating a good distance from each other. The food was plentiful and DELICIOUS. I can't wait to go back for another St Kevin's burger! The room was super clean and comfortable. Can't recommend Lynham's enough. The staff really made it.
Fantastic location. From the sounds of the river Glenmacnass flowing past very fast, to the interior, (the life-size Terminator statue in the lobby), were excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was really good and enjoyable. They had a big carvery on with a varied selection With a good cappuccino to sip on.The welcoming burning fire nearby reminded us that it was indeed winter outside and this was a good place to stop by for something decent to eat for lunch.
