Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thank you to all at the Glenview hotel for making our stay for my daughters birthday so fantastic. As she is autistic we forwarded in requests for hash browns tomato soup jelly, etc so it would make her stay just perfect. You accommodated us for everything we asked and that made such a difference. Thank you so much, everything was perfect, and as always the room was beautiful and the staff were friendly and couldn’t do more to help.

Excellent hotel. Lovely staff and lovely rooms. Staff went over and above to help us. Lovely food in the restaurant. I had a fabulous steak. Cooked perfectly. Leisure centre was welcoming. Lovely warm water. I got to use the jacuzzi steam room and sauna.

I organised a family reunion lunch for 16 guests in the bar/restaurant at the Glenview Hotel. It was a challenging event because of the age of some of the guests. As a result, I asked the restaurant manager to change their usual style of service. The manager Frano and the waiter Bruno and their colleagues were, at all times, utterly professional and courteous. They provided us with a wonderful lunch which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Many thanks to the management and staff. RH

My twin brother and I treated ourselves to a pre birthday dinner at the beautiful restaurant here. From the very first moment it was a delight. I called to book a table for two and the receptionist was so warm friendly and welcoming. I had just flown In from Bosnia in Herzegovina 🇧🇦 and was feeling hungry. We were given a lovely table by the window and our server Katerina was so warm friendly and professional. Nothing was hurried or rushed.. I explained it was a pre birthday dinner and Katerina was fulsome in her warm congratulations. I ordered the tiger prawns and my brother the soup to start. The prawns were amongst the most succulent and delicious I have ever tasted. My brother described the soup as delicious . We both ordered the classic chicken main dish with all the trimmings. The chicken was melt in the mouth and the vegetables were just lovely. A lovely surprise for us after dinner. Many members of staff and Manager ANDREW came out to sing Happy birthday to us.The whole restaurant joined in and they showed by how they sang that they meant it.They offered us a lovely plate with petit fours and happy birthday written in chocolate. I was truly touched. We both finished with the Creme brulee. It was so light and was beautifully presented. I truly wish to thank Andrew Katerina and all the wonderful staff at The GLENVIEW HOTEL. Their kindness and warmth in tandem with the excellent culinary skills of the chefs combined to create a memorable evening for both of us. I would confidently recommend dining here to everyone and look forward to visiting soon again. Thank you all so very much.

We booked a two night stay including breakfast, dinner and access to the leisure club. Staff were very friendly at check-in. I was a bit disappointed upon arrival to our room which was dated and in need of a refresh. The nightstand and wardrobe in the room contain various scratch marks and chips to finish similar to other trip advisor postings. The bathroom is also in need of refurbishment. We dined in the Woodlands Restaurant where is the food is professionally prepared and delicious. Breakfast was also served in the same area where you will find a good selection of cold and hot foods. The swimming pool is very popular in the afternoon with children’s swimming classes so it best to check ahead of time if you are looking for a quieter time. You can read from earlier hotel comments in 2023 that they have updated some areas of the hotel but hopefully this will include rooms not yet covered. At the moment I feel that this is more 3 star until such time the hotel has completed its refit.

This hotel on the whole is lovely but there are a few things that make me only give it four stars. Firstly there really needs to be some modernisation in the rooms. There wasn’t a bedside light so you had to turn on the main light to read in bed. Secondly they need to engage in a thorough cleaning inspection, each staircase I was on I found dried chewing gum on the inside of the hand rails, yuck! Views are spectacular, staff are wonderful and friendly, leisure facilities and pool are great but I think the best thing is the evening meal in the woodlands restaurant. Absolutely delicious.

Wow! Huge improvement over the previous stay which wasn't bad. Food at the bar was really good. Rooms were top class. Staff were amazing and friendly. One man band in the bar later had us out of our seats dancing. Would recommend it without hesitation.

We had a delightful time staying here When we arrived, before our check-in time, we were quite tired from long travel and weren't feeling well. We asked for some changes to our room kind. To accommodate these would mean our room would become available later than the normal time because they were completely booked over the course of our stay. It was clear that fulfilling our request would be tricky. In the mean time they allowed us to stay in a cool meeting room with very comfortable chairs. The manager kept checking back with us and offering us free hot drinks or soda. When the room became available we were delighted how large, lovely and comfortable it was, and were astonished at the view. Close at hand were the charming gardens and fountains. Nearby, and filling our view, were two gorgeous mountains and a valley between them. (Note, not all the rooms have this view, but the hotel is designed so that all the public rooms and restaurants do, so you can enjoy this no matter where you stay). The room was very quiet. The location worked out perfectly for us, as we wanted this portion of our trip to be sort of a wind down, and we mostly wanted to see outdoor sites. Everywhere we went was at most not much more than 1/2 hour drive away (Powerscourt Gardens, Mount Usher Gardens, Killruddery House & Gardens, Glendalough, Wicklow Mountains National Park, and south central Dublin). Whenever we needed anything either at the front desk or from one of the restaurants, the people were invariably very friendly and eager to accommodate, and would ask to do more. We ate while we were out, but we did have delicious fish and chips one night in one of the hotel's restaurants.

We stayed for 1 night, 2 rooms for a. couple and 2 grown up children. Reception guy was super polite and helpful, gladly assisted with changing one of the rooms for another with 2 separate beds. Rooms were spacious, gorgeous view from large duble glass window. Not enough lights and almost no separate control. Bed was good and sleep quality was quite good. Bath could have been cleaned much more thoroughly. Water pressure was excellent and towels were nice. Safe in room was big enough for a laptop. Hotel's bar and breakfast were very good, again staff were all very polite and helpfull. Fitness center and pool looked nice, unfortunately had not enough time to spare to enjoy them. Gardens around hotel were beautiful for a short evening walk.

I was part of a large group staying for two nights. Andrew at the restaurant promised us he would look after us, and he did not disappoint. I had an awkward drinks order and he personally went down to mix it for me.
