Clean hotel in a beautiful location but rooms are completely unsuitable for wheelchair users. Despite phoning the hotel twice to check and ensure that our room would be suitable for a wheelchair user and being assured that the room was indeed suitable and would meet our requirements upon check in we discovered that the room was not suitable. The room was small for a wheelchair but that is minor in comparison to the fact that there was not enough space to turn the toilet chair, in the bathroom room. In addition the toilet was too high and could not be used. A further issue was the position of the waste flow pipe as it meant when we did use towel to raise the height of the chair the chair could not go back over the toilet sufficiently. The man who handled our check in came into the room and saw our problem. He took note of the situation, informed us that the hotel was fully booked and no other room was available. He also stated that every toilet in the hotel was the same height so every room would present the same issues. The toilet was the biggest issue and we discussed with him how if we had access to a toilet we could manage without a disabled shower. He stated that he would inform the manager, who would speak to us. No one ever came to discuss the situation or mentioned it to us again. Upon check out we were given the impression that a more suitable room could have been found but no one had been informed of the situation. We have never experienced such treatment and certainly expected much better from what is supposed to be a four star hotel which catered for disabled individuals.

The setting is spectacular although the hotel itself is tired and in need of some attention. Our room was spotlessly clean but there was no shower curtain in the bathroom. We were attending a function and the meal was excellent.

Although a lovely hotel with beautiful views. The three days we stayed we had to wear our coats every time we sat in our room 109. We did notify staff but the explanation of the boiler being on a timer was not helpful as the heating was not on the whole of our stay. Will not return.

Myself and my new wife had our wedding reception at the Glenview on August 27th of this year. We viewed so many hotels as a potential venue but nowhere came close to the Glenview. The setting is wonderful, with breath-taking scenery and a lovely tranquil atmosphere. The day itself was fantastic and we were blessed with good weather which allowed us to take advantage of the lovely gardens for photographs and to just relax in. The reception and function rooms were beautifully done out for the day. The food was delicious and every plate that was served to our guests was cooked and prepared to the same very high standard. As for the staff, I can't say enough for them. Every single person we dealt with, receptionists, bar staff, waiters & waitresses etc couldn't have been any friendlier or more helpful. I'd like to especially thank Rachel who organized our day. In the final run up to the event I had to make lots of little last minute changes to the guest list and seating plan etc and she was absolutely brilliant. Ourselves & our guests had a great time from start to finish and I can't wait to go back and stay here again. If you're planning a wedding or a few days stay in Ireland's east then look no further than the Glenview hotel.

We visited this hotel again this year because last years service was so good. And again we were not disappointed. The hotels location in the picturesque Glen of The Downs is the first thing noticeable when you approach the entrance. You’d never tire of looking at this from the raised patio seating area. Morning (coffee) Noon( tea ) and night (G&T). All of the team are smart, pleasant, informative and attentive. The rooms are bright spacious and clean. The food is always beautifully presented wether it’s the restaurant or bar / lounge menu you choose. The staff can’t do enough to accommodate allergies. My wife availed of the leisure club ( pool and gym ) and commented that it’s excellent. Prices are more than reasonable for the service and standards here. Well worth a visit to co Wicklows premier hotel.

Dear hotel team, we have just returned to berlin from our trip to ireland and would like to thank you for the wonderful stay. The rooms and the garden were beautiful, we especially enjoyed the breakfast with the wonderful view. The evening meal was healthy and cleverly prepared and everyone was so incredibly friendly - even if we rarely understood something straight away thanks to our language skills. we would love to come back and say thank you. we wish the hotel and its staff all the best.

My wife and I stayed for three nights on the over 50 package which was half board. The room was great and the view from it was right through the glen. I used the gym and did the forest walk each day. My wife, just out of hospital, stayed in the hotel and found it very comfortable. Very well located for trips out. The highlight is the staff who could not be more helpful, especially Gary and Andrew in the restaurant in the evenings. Helped my wife with adjustments to the menu and nothing was too much trouble. The evening meals were as good as we have had anywhere. We will be back soon.

We stayed here for 4 nights in an “executive” family room. The room was great for space as we had 2 adults and 4 children in the room but it definitely wasn’t executive. Bathroom was tiny and old fashioned with a 1970s shower head. The room itself was very basic, no wow factor and there was a lot of wear and tear in the room with carpets, chips in skirting boards etc. Breakfast was good and Tara the waitress was fantastic, always a smile on her face and nothing was too much trouble. We dined in the restaurant on 2 evenings as the menu is very limited in the bar, the food was good but I felt €44 for an 8oz fillet was far too pricy. Yes I know prices have gone up for good but I haven’t seen a €44 steak on any other 4 star hotel menu over the past few months. Overall the stay was fine but between the accommodation for 4 nights and dinner on 2 nights we spent near €1500 and it definitely wasn’t worth it. I brought up my issues with the room to the girl at reception when we were checking out and she said she’d let maintenance know - that’s not good to us when we are leaving. Their website states that we would not want to leave the room as it is so luxurious- we unfortunately had no problem in doing so.
