This is a lovely place to stay just outside avoca village. You need a car to stay here and the road to get to it can be tricky to find but once you’ve arrived it’s a home from home! The owners are so friendly and nothing is a problem. Very clean accommodation, comfy bed and a delicious hearty breakfast. It is dog friendly too which is a huge bonus. Ireland should have more place like The Old Barracks.

Nice experience here. Clean room with a nice view, friendly host, three nice friendly dogs. It's on a lane with a pub/ restaurant two minutes walk down the hill and there's another pub and a take way just up the road. Good location for exploring Avoca and Wicklow. Actually had a better stay here than in the next place we stayed which was double the price!

Stayed one night for nearby wedding. Perfect spot in an idyllic area. Was made feel very welcome and had a nice breakfast whipped up in the morning. Would recommend and possibly return. One thing to note: taxis are extremely tricky to get as it's a fairly remote area but location can't be helped.

The B & B looks quite spooky from outside but I love the leaves and plants on the house! First thing I saw was the two dogs which were absolutely adorable very loving dogs. The room we stayed in was really nice loved the colours and art the backyard looks lovely would love to spend some time out there on a nice summer day. Wish there was more tv channels though was hoping to watch the game on tv it wasn't there. The breakfast was lovely full Irish breakfast nice strong coffee and loved talking to Marcello.

Do not be put off by the first impressions as this is one of the most memorable places I have ever stayed in. Unique decor and amazing art gives this clean and comfortable home its wacky character and Michael and Marcelo could not do enough for us, giving us lots of local information and a fantastic breakfast. However, Sorry guys Princess and Achilles are the ones who stole our hearts the most gorgeous dogs EVER! Would have stayed another night if it were available .
