Stayed here with my partner and 18 month old for 2 nights. In general was an enjoyable enough stay however a few areas for improvement. Cleanliness of hotel is not 4 star. Our room was definitely not hoovered before our stay, crumbs on floor, used piece of toilet roll in bathroom and even found the back of an earring. Floors in communal areas also very dirty. Nappy bin overflowing in baby changing. I have also never been to a 4 star hotel that don’t provide robes and slippers, its just much easier when going to the Pool especially as very few of the lockers have working locks. Food was good and having different options were great however when in the restaurants the choice of food could be better. When we go away we always charge to the room as it is just so much easier. However I have never been questioned so much by staff it was actually becoming very embarrassing. This has never happened in other hotels. I loved the idea of a child friendly hotel however it should be made clearer that in “off peak” times there isn’t the same activities available. Despite this I would go back however I would suggest major improvements to match a 4 star rating or adjust prices in line with the quality.

I recently stayed at Amber Springs with my family. It was our first time travelling with my 5 month old and 3 year old boys and I cannot recommend their family den suite more highly. My toddler had the most amazing time in the pool, playground and cinema nevermind his trip to the open farm. The staff are so friendly and went out of their way to ensure that every need was met. They offer a wide selection of dining options on site which is ideal when travelling with children. I am already planning our trip back.

Overall we had a really good time away at Amber springs. The place was spotless and always smelt really fresh and clean. I don't have many negatives but moreso areas of improvement that if they applied them it could turn this into a great family hotel. Rooms: We got a family suite and it was massive. All we needed and well kitted out so very happy with this. cleaned daily and everything worked! Food: Overall the food was just ok. we had an all inclusive which was great value for 3 courses but felt that there were shortcuts taken. we ordered chowder with Guiness bread and wheaten came out, ordered burger chips and beans and they said they had no beans left which I find strange given the very next morning there were bucket loads for breakfast. Service was a bit on the slow side and felt that the waitresses were stretched. we only ate in BBG and Burger bar. Breakfast was good but again as an area of improvement I would suggest alternative milks, yoghurts, fresh fruit and not pre cut. hotel overall: family activities are excellent here and random bird shows etc really make this an excellent spot for kids along with the amber park on site. Again area of improvements I would suggest is to facilitate more for kids under 5. i would say in our time there were approx 60-70% of those staying were under 5 and felt there wasn't enough for them the same way the kids club had activities for 5+. soft play gets boring after a day or two. Parents would be with their kids and some stimulus would be nice to have like colouring clubs, games etc . pool was good and clean. I really feel if they improved the food on site, more entertainment for kids under 5 and some shows on site ( even at a cost) it would help to create a magical atmosphere. I would stay again and as I say these are areas of improvements rather than negatives as we didn't have a bad experience with any drawbacks. so overall great job Amber Springs.

Enjoyed our weekend in Gorey at this amazing hotel. Room big and spacious, breakfast and dinner (ate in la farina) yummy. Kids enjoyed the train ride, cinema, soft play, playgrounds and owls encounter, also some other little animals there. Also visited pirates cove and Kia Ora farm. Overall I would definitely recommend for families

We stayed here in August and had an amazing time. The staff are really friendly and helpful. There are a variety of places to eat on site and the food is of a very high standard. The rooms are really lovely and there are so many facilities available onsite including a kids playpark.

Our first stay recently, we got a great price for a one night stay including dinner. The hotel itself is well laid out and the staff are really friendly. The beds were comfortable. The kids enjoyed the playground and the trip on the train. However the hotel could really do with closing the doors for a week and giving the place a deep deep clean and lick of paint. The food in the main restaurant was really only ok? We waited a long time for our food and it was only ok. And as for breakfast - honestly not great. Would like to return again but won’t be rushing back

Stayed here in September 22 with my wife and 2 kids. This is our second stay in the hotel and first time (2 years earlier!) we absolutely loved it, the staff the amenities the food- everything was amazing BUT I don’t know what happened in the meantime! First was the dirt of the place, seams no place was cleaned in the two years since we were there. Most noticeable was the skirting boards, caked in dirt, the pictures, the door frames had literal centimetres of dirt, every glass surface was noticeable dirty, stained dirt not fresh dirt. Two worst was the window in our room, was so dirty I initially thought we had a black out window in the room and behind the bunk beds was caked in dust, dirt, lollipop sticks and sweet wrappers, Wouldn’t expect there to be cleaned every day but looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years! Next the dining; Breakfast was good, had good quality food and lots of it! We had lunch in the main restaurant each day, food was good but basic, only issue was it was the same menu everyday, some variation might be nice! We had dinner in 3 restaurants, 1st up was the main restaurant- staff were lovely and the food was good quality but the flies, the flies were horrendous (yes possibly beyond the hotels control), was like eating outside, food was good but the wait for main courses was far too long, specially with kids! 2nd night was the Italian! Highlight of the trip! The staff were fantastic, good craic and good at their jobs! (Save one who was rude and didn’t want to be there) The food was amazing, service was amazing, none of us left hungry!! We saved the worst till last!!! The burger restaurant, what a disaster! We went in at 5.45 - 4 adults 4 kids- we had only got our mains by 7.30, that long with kids was a nightmare, and worst it wasn’t worth the wait, my burger was dry and tasteless, wife had to eat hers in her hand walking around the courtyard with the youngest. When I left at 7.45 3 tables had no food yet and arrived around the same time as us. I expressed my displeasure to the manager, he said the delay was because the restaurant was so full, there was max 20 people who all had to prebook so don’t know where the surprise was! The staff were rude, uninterested, and didn’t want to be there. The amenities: Pool was clean and staff were very friendly! Petting farm, golf, carts, as advertised no issues. Outdoor play area was small but kids had great fun. Indoor play area was great for the older kids but they need to get a small part for younger kids, just little ball pit or something like that. Maybe repair the netting but the was a small thing! More pressing was the smell in there, only a matter opening a few windows or doors or some air freshener! Cinema: we went on a Monday, film was meant to start at 3, manager didn’t turn up till 3.15, only 15 minutes but had kids in the corridor going out their skin, trying to control them wasn’t fun, no apology offered, bugged me!! I know it’s only small thing but I hate people being late and if it’s advertised for 3 then I believe it should be 3!! The “shop” was small and under stocked, wife had to go back to the room to get drinks for the kids. There was so many small things, that took from the enjoyment of the stay. But the burger restaurant experience ruined the whole energy of our break, the wait, the staff , the food just so disappointing. Hotels aren’t cheap and we were looking forward to this break all summer really was so disappointing compared to 2020, don’t know what has happened with this place!!

The morning after our one-night stay in Amber Springs Hotel, my friend and I desperately tried to find the positives. The beds were very comfy, the hotel corridor was reassuringly quiet all night, the staff were friendly. Sadly, that was as good as it got. The hotel crawled with unruly/bawling children and babies. The quietest spot, though not truly quiet, was the foyer where, though someone was circling and gathering glasses on a tray, we were told if we wanted a drink we had to get it ourselves. Fair enough. Rules are rules, even ridiculous ones. But dear Jesus the dinner... There was not one redeeming feature, apart from the friendly and fun waitress assigned to our table. Starters were chicken wings (bland) and goats cheese quiche (so burnt on top that it was charcoal black and the goat's cheese had atrophied. Main courses were fish pie (fish in a sauce served alongside cold mashed potato and overcooked veg), and a steak sandwich (cold chips, cold steak apart from the middle, which was warm. Also served medium, not medium rare as requested). We ate what we could because we were starving, but nothing could prepare us for the desserts. Selection of ice cream (an enormous bowl of ice cream, most of which had melted into a milky pool) and a creme brulee (watery eggy mixture with greyish tinned cherries on top. I gave the waitress a €10 tip for her cheerful attention and told her the meal was abysmal. And all of this vile food was eaten in the mayhem of crying, shrieking kids. There is nowhere in this hotel for someone without children. No little snug, no adults only hideaway. We took our wine out to the foyer, blissfully quiet now as all the kids were put to bed. Around 10.30, a cleaner revved up her Hoover a few feet away from us and, on finding the hose was blocked, repeatedly banged it on the floor and shone her phone torch down it to identify the blockage. We gave up, went to bed and will NEVER go near that hotel again.

Had a lovely one night stay at this hotel. Rebecca on reception was so welcoming and friendly. She gave us early check in too which was great as we arrived early. Spotless hotel.Great for families and children lots to do. Didn’t eat in hotel so can’t comment but plenty of restaurants on site. Shops and pubs a 15minute walk, less than 10 minute walk to train station. Will Definitely be back.
