Stayed here from June 27th to July 1st with my little boy and my mam. It was a birthday surprise for my son who’s birthday it was on the Tuesday. Upon arrival was greeted by Nessa who was super friendly and helpful. However on Tuesday night we had booked farm burger for my sons birthday. Arrived for our meal and gave in a birthday cake for the end of the evening. Ordered our food and drinks and upgraded our Fries to loaded fries. . When order came out our fries were wrong I told waiter who was happy to change. Waited 20 mins for new ones and when they came out they were not cooked properly still raw in middle. Scalding and I mean scalding cheese sauce( tasted like water ni taste of cheese) and the tiniest pieces of bacon possible were put in. Had these last year standard is gone way down. We couldn’t eat them. Called waiter over again. They said they were calling a manager but RYAN came along took the fries didn’t speak to me and said to the chef: there saying these aren’t cooked but they are everyone else could hear this I was mortified I went over and RYAN proceeded to tell me they were I suggested he taste them and he said WHY WOULD I!!!! The chef who had been screaming at staff just before this who had sweat dripping from his forehead and filthy finger nails just kept shaking his head at me. It was highly embarrassing. I told Ryan I was disgusted at the way he spoke to me and the way he handled the situation and I asked to speak to a manager. He rolled his eyes at me. He has a major attitude!! Aaron came along and I told him what had happened. His conclusion was not to charge for the fries which was fine but myself and my mam who had left the restaurant due to embarrassment from RYANS comments didn’t eat our burgers. I paid the bill and Aaron suggested a free drink to which I declined. My sons birthday was ruined I had to ask for the birthday cake back and we sang happy birthday in the room. Aaron came to me again a while later while I was in the playground with my son said he spoke to Ryan and it won’t happen again. Too little too late. Rooms weren’t cleaned the girl knocked at our door we left for breakfast and all she did was leave towels. Floor was filthy stains everywhere. Duvet was like a plastic bag shabby. On arrival there was stale wee all around the toilet seat! Ants everywhere and smell from drains. I have stayed here many times in the past. But sadly will not be returning. Staff have issues being friendly and professional. No matter what you ask for it seems to be a burden. Standard has gone way down! On checking out girl took the room key cards and said goodbye. Didn’t ask how my stay was so why even bother complaining. Save your money don’t waste it here. Paid €1000 for this trip and I can honestly say I will not return.

Where do I start, came here with my 2 girls 4 & 7 years old. It’s my first night here and the day has been really disappointing. Im sad that I have wasted my money on this trip. We arrived and got lunch. Some of the order didn’t come but we didn’t mind as they didn’t charge us for the items. While we were finally checking in at 4pm the computer system wasn’t working so it took a long time. Got to the room and room key wouldn’t work. Went back and got a new one. In the room the kettle was broken, not in use and the phone was also broken, not in use. Kids wanted to go gocarting, there was one usable gocart and the rest were not working apparently. Dinner time, same thing happened with the order. Drinks were forgotten and we had to keep asking. Got candy floss at the cinema part, my youngest child got sick in her sleep, after checking, hers tasted different to my other child’s tub. It was stale. Room key stopped working again up and down the stairs at all hours of the night trying to get back in. Kept being told we must have locked it from the inside. Until they tried it for the 15th time and it magically worked. Bought a ham and cheese toasty at 10pm to bring to my daughter in the room, waited at the bar for a whole hour for it. I was told ‘sorry we had problems with the grill and then we burnt the first one that’s why it took so long’. I don’t like to be negative about staff, they weren’t particularly bad but they weren’t particularly friendly or helpful either… they seemed a bit clueless. This is only day 1. Strongly considering going home in the morning and I’m gutted that I spent so much money on this place. I heard good things about it and I’m sad for the kids. In saying all this I still haven’t been rude to the staff. I also don’t think a complaint would even blink an eye. Save yourself some heartache and money and avoid this place. I wouldn’t come back unfortunately. I paid over €500 for a family room. I could have paid far less in a better hotel.

Visited the Amber Springs in June 22. Lovely hotel, rooms large, bright and very clean. Great facilities for children. Staff are fantastic. A member of our group became ill during our visit and hotel staff could not have done more to help. They were brilliant. Thank you.

We had a lovely stay in amber springs, great food, great facilities, lovely room. However we all became very ill the night we returned home. My youngest who was 2 ended up in hospital. My friend who stayed 2 months prior to this had exactly the same experience. I'm linking it to the swimming pool as it was the only place where we were directly mingling with people. A real pity as it means we are unlikely to return.

We had a enjoyable trip at the hotel. Staff was friendly, specially the managers at both the italian and burger restaurants, were very helpful and nice to cater for our dietary requirements. Many activities to keep the kids happy and busy the whole day. We didnt need to leave the hotel. The downside is the smell which is mostly around the kids club/playroom/gameroom. Smells like old damp carpet or something. Rooms need an uplift too. We will definately return, if we get a good price. Not worth spending a lot though.

My fiance,2 year old and myself booked to stay in amber springs for two nights. Being honest I was apprehensive on how our stay would go as there are alot of reviews on here stating how inadequate the hotel is especially in regards to its bedrooms, the upkeep of the hotel and so forth. Our first impressions were out of this world. Our little daughter was obsessed with the soft play area which is fantastic for a hotel to have. We booked a superior executive room which was lovely. It had a jacuzzi bath, which we did find needed cleaning as when it was turned on there was a black scum that filled the bath and looked extremely disgusting to be honest. There was no air-conditioning in the room which was another down fall as the room got quite hot at night. The tea making facilities had only teabags and no coffee. Some of the hotel waiting staff were very attentive. There was one evening we got dinner and had to keep asking for our drinks or desserts as they were forgotten about. I had to send back my food on one occasion as the meat was freezing!we found there was a big difference on food quality with the different chefs.I did find the managers in the bar restaurant not as friendly. On one occasion the lady manager walked us to our table just dropped the menus on the table and kept walking which I found quite rude. We had booked a meal in the FHB and when we arrived were told we couldn't be taken until a hour later as they had taken a large table who were 45mintues late and thay delayed everyone else which we couldnt do as ir was too late for our little toddler. With all of this being said it is a fantastic hotel for children. It has a cinema, kids club, go cart track, pet farm, mini golf, soft play area, pool etc. The hotel is a child focused hotel and pump their money into child activities hence why the downfall is on the bedroom side of things. We enjoyed our stay despite all of the little inconveniences as our daughter was so incredibly happy all of the time, we didnt even have to leave the hotel and we even booked an extra night stay which we have never done before. I felt the need to give a lengthy and honest review .

I stayed here in Oct’21 with my partner and two kids (4yrs) and (3 months old) we booked a family suite. It was on the ground floor so that was handy. We we’re super excited! The good:The bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and chatted to my 4yr old and made us feel very welcomed. The facility’s for the 4year old was brilliant. The pool was lovely and calming not many in when we went for a swim. The bad: Our room on arrival was stinking of feet from the carpets. The kids side room with the bunks had ice cream stains all over the curtains. The 4 year old went to the loo and being a gent he is learning to be he lifted the seat to pee and I can tell you now the cleaning staff must never have lifted it to clean it before. It was filthy! I had practically a new born baby with me and covid was still a big deal at the time so I couldn’t believe how dirty our room was. Down to the reception I went to ask to be changed. I was told no they would send a cleaner by ! Not good enough !! Why should I have paid over €500 for a hotel stay and have to call for a cleaner on arrival. I went to the local dunnes to get anti bac wipes as I felt I had to double wipe down the room down and fabreez spray for the stinking carpet (didn’t get the smell to go at all) It was cold Oct and I had a young baby so couldn’t keep the windows open to air it out even. The bottle sterilizing facility’s wasn’t the best the sink to wash bottles in is like an old bathroom. Thankfully we had our microwaving sterilizer with us and used that. Won’t be back.
