We stayed here last weekend to celebrate my son's confirmation (2 adults, 1 teenager, and 1 almost teenager). From the moment we arrived, the staff were amazing. I've never stayed anywhere before where literally every member of staff we encountered, couldn't do enough for you. Special thanks to the lovely waitress in the restaurant on Friday who went above and beyond. Our 12 year old didn't like anything on the menu, and she checked for us and arranged for us to get something from the bar menu instead (as they weren't overly busy that evening). Food in the restaurant was amazing. While service in the bar was a bit slow (staffing issues, just like everywhere else at the moment), the staff were friendly and helpful. I was a bit worried when we first got our room, as it was on the ground floor, facing directly out to the inner courtyard which was very noisy. But once evening came, this settled down and was very quiet. Pool and changing rooms very clean (showers aren't great but adequate). Overall a very enjoyable stay.…
Stayed for 2 nights recently. Very friendly staff, especially the staff at breakfast. Only ate breakfast in the hotel and it was excellent. Decor was also lovely in the diningroom. Was very disappointed with our double room.. The pillows were extremely uncomfortable and really need updating. The sheet was strained and the cold tap in the bathroom did not work. I really expected more from this hotel considering the price. However the hotel location is excellent, staff were very friendly and apart from the room everything else was good.
My now husband and I got married here on the 20th of May. I do not have words to describe how grateful we are to everyone in the Ashdown hotel. From the moment we booked the hotel for our wedding, we knew we had made a fantastic choice. The wedding coordinators Eimear and Catherine deserve huge recognition for their titles as they went above and beyond for the both of us. No query was too big nor silly, they were super responsive and always had an answer for me. Both ladies were so good to deal with me and my 101 emails. I would recommend getting married at this hotel for these 2 ladies alone! The venue itself was beyond what I could have imagined on the big day! It was one thing to pick and choose the different things to design the room etc but to actually see it all done up on the day was magical. They did everything to a tee and we were both just so impressed with how it turned out. The ladies in reception were phenomenal. I know I was in constant contact about rooms not only for ourselves but for guests etc and I have to give Rebecca a huge shout out for dealing with my emails and phonecalls. She dealt with everything so professionally and made it so easy to organise bookings! Huge thanks to Rebecca and all the ladies working in reception! The staff in the Rowan restaurant were so lovely every morning we had breakfast (we stayed for 3 nights overall). There was a young lady in particular I want to say thanks to. I believe her name was Lydia (I'm so sorry if I got that wrong) but both mornings we had breakfast when she was working, she was extremely friendly and so kind to everyone at our table! Everyone was fantastic and all of our guests who stayed said that all the staff members were amazing, so thank you! We had a dinner the night before in the Ivy and a BBQ the day after in the Coach bar. Both meals were so good!! Everything was perfect and I want to say thank you to everyone who took care of us on both occasions. We had the most magical weekend in the Ashdown for our Wedding and words cannot describe how thankful we are. We are so excited to return here for our 1st Anniversary ❤️ …
I stayed at the hotel last weekend and it was my third time to stay here, fantastic hotel, every staff member is so friendly and helpful. Swimming pool perfect for kids, lovely food and cocktails. There was a wedding and function on that weekend and the nights were so quiet we didn't hear a thing sleeping either night. Peter working in the restaurant was so kind and friendly, nothing was a problem for him, very helpful man!
Family reunion of 12 people. We spent 2 nights in the Ashdown Park Hotel on weekend of 20th May. From the minute we arrived to check out we all had a fabulous time. Staff were so helpful. Special mention to Amy in Reception Reservation Team, and also Restaurant Manager Peter he was so friendly and helpful. Our 4 rooms were very large and spotless. Dinner and Breakfast were top quality and delicious with a huge selection.. Would highly recommend this hotel.
My father and I stay for two nights in the Ashdown Park Hotel, Gorey, The hotel is lovely - large, clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast. Good health club and places to relax. The staff were so helpful and friendly incl Iolanda, Zaragh, Ghosha, Lisa, Anita, Martina, Patricia, Mila and Catrina. Great place to stay!
We stayed here on Saturday 21st as we were playing at a charity event which was been held in the hotel. We were on the go all day and had a long enough travel down to Gorey but after the event ( must of been 2am) I asked the night porter would of be possible to make us up a sandwich as we haven’t eaten in hours and what did he do…. He went off and made us a pizza , what an absolute hero- this is what you call going above and beyond. All the staff that we’d encountered, were friendly and lovely. The hotel was nice and clean - we’d not issues at all. We will return for a more relaxing visit next time and we definitely recommend this hotel. Thanks
The staff were all extremely nice can't fault that but we stayed the weekend for my sons 8th birthday . We were put in room next to other rooms with wedding guests they were extremely noisy all night long from 11 had a girl banging down the door next door screaming to be let in an cursing for at least 15 20 min mailed reception no reply that stopped then they woke us up 2 morn blasting loud music fighting shouting slamming doors even banged on our door assuming we were in the wedding party I opened door and gave out told them stop been loud did nothing this went on and on the room phone was not working to call someone an I didn't feel comfortable walking out of the room passed them drunk people that were going in and out to go to reception we eventually found number on app as no one messaged me back when I complained on both occasions called after 3 and were told the wedding guests were just winding down they weren't they were haven after party which we said so someone came up an told them turn music off an keep it down they waited little while then put music back on an continued on what they were doing I got 2 hours sleep all night we were all exhausted the next morning on my sons birthday.. should be seperating family's from party guests or at the very least monitor the noise levels of roudy guests and stop it b4 it starts and need better ways for guest to communicate if we'd have had no credit we would not have been able to call reception in the first place. We paid alot of money for a weekend here and weren't very happy.…
There was no air con in the room. Had to leave the window open. The noise from passing traffic kept me awake most of the night. Went for breakfast. Ordered scrambled eggs. They came STONE COLD. Asked for brown toast. Got one slice of brown the rest was white. No one came to ask was everything alright. Not a good experience won't be returning.
We booked this break back in January for all the LADIES in the family to have a night away together. The package included dinner and two treatments in the newly refurbushed Spa. The spa is tastefully decorated and very Zen. It's a Voya and Environ salon. The therapists are very professional and well trained. The relaxation room is a lovely space and adds to the whole experience. My facial, was one of the best I've had and I have to mention Joanna, fantastic therapist and asset to the Spa. Dinner was on the Rowan Tree restaurant. Led by Peter, the service was excellent and efficient. I had the lamb, delish! The mashed potato is to die for, just a quick FYI, the veggies were a bit soggy and over done.. We had a set menu but there was no bother in me ordering a cheese board instead of dessert (small suppliment) again plentiful and nicely presented. Logan did amazing cocktails! Special mention to Kate and Tiegan for their service in the restaurant. We sat on and we were not rushed even though the restaurant and hotel was busy, we were free to sit back and relax, the same at breckfast: Which was equally well served and presented. Check- in was efficient but busy. Receptionist was on her own, yet she managed very well and multitasked professionally and efficiently. Attention to detail must be noted. Think her name was Kate. From checkin to checkout it was a lovely relaxing experience, all the staff were friendly and attentive, food on the whole was delicious and menus varied. Rooms comfortable, clean, well appointed and calm... We'll be BACK SOON, Thankyou…
