I decided to stay here with my two small dogs for a stop off on my way to somewhere else. What a good decision that was ! It was my first time in a hotel that said they welcome well behaved dogs so we were all a bit nervous. We were instantly put at ease by the fabulous and attentive staff. We were treated like royalty from start to finish. We were accommodated to eat together outside at their fine dining restaurant. The gardens directly outside our room were out of this world. I was able to sit there with my dogs and have a glass of wine after dinner. Ziggy the resident Jack Russel regularly checked in for a play with my two. We will definitely be back. All the staff we met are genuine animal lovers. I couldn’t rate this place highly enough for a pampered owner and pooch getaway you will only wish you could stay longer. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so special.

Just stayed one night and we were very happy overall. We booked last minute and got the last room. It was at the top of the house and as there is no lift the room is not suitable for everyone. Overall we enjoyed our night. We felt the staff were a bit under pressure as there was very little communication from them. Dinner was excellent and so was breakfast. Reception staff were very friendly as was the lady running the breakfast, but bar staff were a little stressed we felt. We will go back to experience one of the larger rooms as they look beautiful. Very good value for the price we paid.

We have just got back after spending the weekend at Marlfield house to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was our first time in this part of the world for quite a while. This is a very special place and the staff were exemplary in every area. We stayed in one of the pond suites and it was lovely. Just recently opened and the finishes were excellent. We felt we were staying in a private part of the property with lovely views over the pond in front. We ate in the main restaurant on the first night and the food and service was excellent. We ate in the Duck restaurant on the second night and it was a very different vibe but every bit as good and the staff again excellent. Breakfast was also excellent and we never felt rushed. The owners should be very proud of their hotel and their staff and we will definitely will be back. Thnaks very much

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The hotel is both beautiful and homely. This was a birthday treat weekend for my partner and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely time. We stayed in a Junior Stateroom which was just beautiful. The room was huge, the bed was super comfortable, we had a very restful sleep. Breakfast was so delicious and fresh... I love when produce is fresh and locally sourced where possible. We ate at The Duck, which was equally delicious, and with wonderfully attentive and friendly staff. Sitting outside on the terrace, overlooking the gorgeous garden, was so relaxing, as well as playing fetch with Ziggy. All in all a wonderful stay and I hope I'll be back. In particular I'd like to thank Dawn, Savanah and the lovely French lady who looked after us in the bar and at breakfast, for their excellent hosting skills. Alan

We had an absolutely wonderful wedding at Marlfield House in April 2022. It was a day we and our guests will never forget, and so much of that was down to our amazing venue - Marlfield House. From the beautiful grounds and rooms, to the delicious food, warm atmosphere and brilliant staff, everything was perfect. Dawn was such a professional to work with in the months running up to our wedding, and always listened to our quirky ideas and helped us bring them to life on the day while offering sound advice on how to do it right based on her extensive experience. By the time the day came around, everything was in order and Dawn kept things calmly ticking to schedule. A big thank you to Dawn for helping make our wedding such a special day. Also a big shout out to Ciaran who looked after everything brilliantly as the evening festivities kicked in. Throughout our day, we felt everyone at Marlfield was as invested as us in making our day a success - that's not something every couple can say about their wedding venue. Luckily we can though, and that's why we would strongly recommend anyone looking for a top-class wedding venue to visit Marlfield House before they go anywhere else. Thank you Dawn and everyone at Marlfield House: we'll never forget what a special memory-packed day you helped us create! David & Valerie

I can't begin with how professional and friendly the staff were especially Silvana (hope I spelt your name right). Me and my boyfriend had another hotel booked for our 10 year anniversary and they cancelled on us the day before leaving us very upset and disappointed. I phoned Marlfield and Silvana was so understanding and did everything for us to ensure we had a wonderful anniversary at the last minute. We staying in a beautiful pond suite overlooking the duck pond. Everything from the customer service, suite, food and professionalism of staff was outstanding I can't recommend this place enough. When leaving they gifted us a gorgeous jar of home made Marmalade. So many beautiful touches. Thank you all for what I can say was a beautiful weekend. Kudos to the whole team, you don't often come across this service in hotels post covid as most other places standards have dropped, certainly not at Marlfield though. Thanks again and see you soon.

Stayed here in October 21 with a family group. The house is stunning, the staff were excellent and made you feel at home. The food was delicious. The breakfasts were the best I have ever had, great selection with lots of homemade bread and scones. Very relaxing and cosy bar and day rooms to chill out.

From the warm welcome on arrival to every detail of our stay, this was a lovely experience. Our room was not huge but beautifully appointed and boasting a four poster bed. Just the thing for a romantic weekend! The ensuite shower room offered lovely toiletries. The main house rooms are comfortable and invite you to stop, sit and read with maybe a glass of something to sip. And the food! Superb!! We ate in the conservatory on both nights of our stay and agreed that this was among the best dining experiences ever. And, I’m almost ashamed to say, we also had one of their sumptuous Afternoon Teas! But brisk walks on nearby beaches and exploration of Marlfield’s delightful gardens all helped to dissipate any lingering guilt. This was one of the most memorable country house weekends I have enjoyed. I cannot wait for the next.

We spent a week end at Marlfield House recently and we can strongly recommend it. I booked by phone with Dawn. She was a pleasure to deal with. We arrived early and met Dawn who was even better in person. We enjoyed food and drinks in the library lounge. We were then brought to the pond suite situated in the grounds. The suite has everything you need to relax and unwind. We ate in the Duck restaurant one night. The foot, staff and ambience were perfect. We ate in the conservatory the next night. Food and service were excellent. Breakfasts are lovely and provide wide choice. Check out was swift and efficient. It's a place I would very much like to revisit.
