This is a most magnificent place to stay. The house is extremely cosy and welcoming and the staff are super friendly and professional.Great attention is given to detail so that guests can have a memorable relaxing stay. Dinner in both the conservatory and duck restaurant is 5 star. The breakfast is delightful the selection of food and the appealing display is captivating. The cooked breakfast and the selection of breads at the table add to this display. All tables are spaced very well affording privacy and easy movement of staff and guests. Lunch in the bar was very tasty....anothet 5 star experience
Very impressed that local produce is used in the kitchen and the jams and products from Marfield house adorn the tables. The flowers, candles and open fires give a very.homely atmosphere to this lovely building ..

The most magical, elegant, welcoming, personable and high standard venue for our wedding in December 2019. We booked Marlfield in April 2019 for our wedding later that year. We knew instantly after visiting Marlfield that it was the perfect venue for us for such an important celebration. The location itself, the house and how well it is maintained, the food (this was one of the initial hooks for us as foodies along with the amazing backdrop at the back of the house), the relaxed vibe of the house and professionalism of the staff.
Dawn was such an amazing person to deal with and couldn’t help enough to support us on the lead up to the day. She is so efficient, friendly and her attention to detail is outstanding!! She is so amazing at her job and was such a pleasure to work with. On arrival to the house the night before our wedding, Dawn gave us a big hug, took our bags from us, aka took any wedding related prep off of us, and offered us a glass of champagne, we were made to feel so relaxed and welcome. We met Mary who throughout the weekend who told us to make it our home for the weekend which we absolutely did! We had 60 guests at our wedding which felt so intimate within the house. The food (massive compliments to the head chef and kitchen team) is out of this world, we had such a choice of dishes to pick for our wedding and trying the options at our tasting was such a treat! All of our guests still talk about the food and how amazing it was throughout their stay, as well as the wine options!!! We ate in the Duck restaurant also throughout the weekend-equally all dishes were to a high standard and so tasty.
Each and every staff member were so helpful and friendly and they truly added to such a special weekend. The calmness, and relaxed vibe throughout the house is something I have never experience in any other venue, we instantly felt calm on arrival to Marlfield. I cannot thank the staff enough- Dawn, EmmaJane, Greg, the kitchen staff, bar staff, waiters, Laura, Margaret Mary, for making Marlfield our home that weekend and how you all added in your own way to ensuring we were looked after. We have just the most divine memories and photos to remember such a special weekend in our lives. We cannot wait to return, it will be like visiting old friends.
Geraldine & Stephen, 14/12/2019, Marlfield House Hotel

Just back from a weekend trip to Marlfield for my wife's birthday. We stayed for two nights on The Whole Works package with dinner one night in the Conservatory Restaurant and the second in The Duck. We stayed in the Blue Heron Pond Suites - a handful of self contained suites around the pond a short walk from the house. They are absolutely fabulous, beautifully decorated and appointed and very spacious. Bubbles on arrival and heavenly comfortable beds. From the moment we arrived until we left, the ever friendly staff were very polished and always attentive. The food in both the more formal fine dining Conservatory restaurant and the more casual Duck restaurant was first class. An oasis where you could spend a whole weekend and never need to leave. Can't wait to return and will definitely go back to the Pond Suites. Highly recommended.

The food in the two restaurants is gorgeous and the house itself seems nice. The staff at reception were also very nice, as were those in the restaurants. The reason for the low rating is really down to the room - you will see in the photos attached why I rate the room so poorly. The bed was also very uncomfortable with sore backs afterwards. For what one pays for a night or two away in this house, one would expect not be looking out at dirty mops, electric boxes, people looking in the room etc

We have visited Marlfield House on several occasions and always enjoyed the experience. The surroundings are very pleasant and the interiors exquisite. Our evening in the Duck restaurant was up to its usual high standard with excellent menu choice .
The main restaurant however was a little disappointing and we felt standards had slipped a little. The afternoon tea however was wonderful.

We booked at very short notice and had 2 x small dogs with us. A Google search told us The Marlfield was pet friendly. We all (dogs included) got a really warm welcome. We relaxed from the moment we arrived in the amazing opulence, large open fire place, a sense of it being a personal welcome. As normal, our dogs were welcome anywhere except the restaurants. On the 2nd floor, we were given a room with a small sitting room annexed which meant our 'babies' had their own sleeping space too. The Marlfield have their own animal friends there too! Lovely gardens for walks although February didn't show them off. Bring your own water bowls, food and leads as there aren't any at the door but you can purchase them there. Our food was hot and good quality. Rooms beyond comfortable. Staff were 100% amazing. Really enjoyed our stay!

What a treat and what a find! This property is a spectacular stately/country house full of character and grandeur. It has a magnificent setting amongst impressive gardens. To top it all off, the service was exceptional! I cannot fault any of the staff or service received. My stay was everything I expected from a Relais & Chateaux property and more!

When we informed the staff that our visit was part of a birthday celebration, they went out of their way to look after us, treated us to fantastic room upgrades and even provided treats in our rooms! Fantastic touch!

When it came to dining, again, the hotel and restaurant staff went out of their way to cater to our dietary requirements, even providing a dish that was off the menu at the Duck Restaurant. I felt properly looked after!

Our rooms were beautifully decorated and very spacious with big bathrooms and Luxury Floris amenities. Both the Library Lounge and Bar offered a great space for drinks and tea. Breakfast, served in the Conservatory Restaurant was also exceptional. They served the most amazing gluten free French toast I have ever tasted! All the food was fresh and delicious. Again, served with a smile!

This is a truly special place and cannot wait to return. Whether it’s for a special treat or to simply switch off and relax, they get top marks from me! Please keep up the impressive work!!!

Just back from a stay with my mother and sister for a special occasion. I literally do not have one complaint. Reception staff are very helpful pre and upon arrival. Our room was spotless and they accommodated us as a triple which we found hard to achieve elsewhere. We had lunch in the garden of the duck and it was fabulous . The only thing I would say is that it would be nice to be able to just order a single course as we were trying to save ourselves for dinner in the conservatory later that evening. Reception staff did accommodate our request to change to a later dinner time though which we appreciated. There was also flexibility with our table for lunch as we arrived late due to traffic.
Drinks were lovely and it was nice to see nonalcoholic options catered for. The service was very good and we enjoyed the nibbles with our drinks. Lovely walk in grounds. Dinner was fabulous, food and service. Relaxing lounge areas for pre and post drinks. Breakfast also fabulous. This is such a relaxing spot overall, a welcome retreat from a hectic world. Very safe from a covid perspective and the staff just make the experience. I recently stayed in seafield as well and if weighing up both options marlfield trumps on all fronts by a mile and was actually more budget friendly. Highly recommend.

Just stayed the night at one of the Pond Suites to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and will definitely return. The location in the almost tropical garden and the beautiful decor in the suite creates a very tranquil and relaxing experience.
As the restaurants on site were closed it being a Monday night we were brought a charcuterie board and a bottle of chilled wine by Silvana, and she returned again in the morning with an amazing breakfast. Her bubbly personality made for a very warm welcome and she is a skilled driver of the golf buggy which takes you and your luggage to the suite.
Every detail has been thought out in these pond suites, from the restful colours, the enormous bathroom, the little fridge, filtered water on tap and coffee and tea making equipment, not to mention the most comfortable bed.
The only downside is you have to leave, but will do so rested and rejuvenated. Can't wait to return. Thank you.

My husband and I recently stayed at Marlfield house and what a treat it was! From the moment we arrived it was a wonderful experience, starting with Dawn welcoming us and showing us around. The beautiful property is set in secluded grounds, so conducive to rest and relaxation. The team at Marlfield are outstanding and the level of service is excellent. Lunch has wonderful options and one can dine in different locations. The dinner menu was full of choice with a real emphasis on locally produced products. Breakfast was also beautiful with options like poached egg and avocado on sourdough as well as traditional options. We stayed in the Morland room and it was beautifully appointed in keeping with the style of the house. It was spacious with a large en-suite with separate bath and shower. There are lovely walks in the beautiful manicured gardens. We have already made a return booking and cannot wait to visit again.
