We stayed there for a long weekend and were not disappointed. The pods are small but well furnished. The views are lovely with a great sense of privacy. The sound of birdsong is wonderful. We ordered the breakfast box which was tasty. One evening we had the grazing box from a local supplier in Gorey which was scrumptious. Ben, the host, was friendly and helpful. It’s a great spot for a break away from everything or for exploring the Wexford coast.

Tara Hill Estate is simply stunning. Ben and Vanessa have devoted a lot of love and care into The Wild Rooms. They have thought of everything!

My only regret is only booking one night. The views are breathtaking. We stayed in Stormchaser and could not have been more comfortable. We were blown away by the room and views.

The beach is approx 1 mile away, perfect for watching sunrise/sunset. Gorey is approx 7 minutes drive away and has everything you need.

We would highly recommend staying here to anyone. It's the perfect way to unwind and connect with nature or recharge. We will certainly be back.

Tara Hill Estate is an amazing experience for the soul. From when you drive through the gates up the steep entrance to the car park and begin your journey.
There are three private pathways to three beautiful, private, modern units.
As you climb the steps I would recommend that you look back to your right over the sweeping green fields all the way down to the sea. The view is stunning.
You are also looking down on The Lodge which is so tastefully done and the courtyard is attractive and requires a visit.

As you get to the top of the roped steps your appointed Wild Room appears out of the hill. It is impressive. You have total privacy and it is designed to just frame your view of the sea. I feel they could utilize the view better and I hope they will.

The interior is clean, modern, functional and well equipped but still manages to have ample charm. The space is compact. The bathroom is modern and the shower is amazing.
I love the bathroom mirror! It is just one of the things that helps demonstrate the time and planning that has gone into this clever space.
The bed is SO comfortable with lovely, quality bed linen and fabulous pillows, the type you wish you had at home!
There is a lovely seating area in the window both inside and outside but your view is partially blocked unless you are very tall.
They have been ever so clever when it comes to the lighting by going the extra mile and creating mood lighting. It really works!! I defy you to be anything other than zen here.
As it gets dark you lower the blinds to have your cinema experience which leaves you giggling with the luxury of it all and if you are as obsessed by sea views as I am you can just wind it down enough to have your screen above and your view of the sea still below until it gets dark enough that you can't see it anymore until you wake up to the most breathtaking view in the morning.
They send you all the information you need and it is easily accessible in your guest app.
I would highly recommend you take a stroll up to the picnic viewing area where you have a spectacular view of all the landscape with an abundance of tall eucalyptus trees dancing behind you and sweeping land down to the sea.
There is a lot more potential for this area of the Estate and would love to see some TLC put into it, to see what is yet to come.
I did the walk down to the sea, down the lane just opposite the Estate. It is approx a mile, but felt longer, especially on the return in the heat and up the hill. But it was worth it! You arrive on Saleen Beach which is the start of a very long stretch of beach and it is stunning! However, as recommended by Ben and Vanessa check the tides as I was almost cut off from the ramp leaving the beach as I hadn't paid attention to the tide coming in. A bit of rock climbing and crisis averted.
The beaches all along the coast here are beautiful white sandy beaches that must be seen. Kilgorman is a delight where you walk along the little lagoon and emerge out into the sunlight and a stunning beach. Ballymoney Bay is a good hike and not for the faint hearted but a nice cove. Clone is a big, long, impressive stretch of beach. All these beaches are a short drive from Tara Hill.
Shopping in Gorey is a real treat for the women especially, with an abundance of boutiques. There are shops to suit every budget but The Dressing Room is a must.
Make sure to include lunch in Partridges or The Book Cafe or ideally both as they are not to be missed.
Only 6 mins away from The Wild Rooms is Seafield Hotel. I was put off by the amount of houses and apartments surrounding the hotel but when I actually went into the lobby I was blown away. It is a beautiful hotel but shame they have the drive in looking like a badly planned housing estate.
And why I mention Seafield is because for a mere €30 you can use The Thermal Suite in the Oceo Spa. I highly recommend this, it is a fabulous experience and ties in so well with The Wild Rooms experience.
Tara Hill Estate is a great location for so many wonderful things around and about.
This place should be top of your list if you want a break from it all or to revive your soul or just to stop the world for a little while. This is a beautiful part of the world and The Wild Rooms experience makes it all the nicer. I will definitely be back 🤞
