Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed here with some colleagues for two nights on a business trip but it was so amazing I would come back for a holiday! The house has such character and charm with massive rooms and bathrooms. My room was full of books which I loved and on the top floor with stunning views. Helen who runs the place is so warm and welcoming she makes you feel right at home. The bed was unbelievaby comfortable and breakfast was delicious. (I also met Paddy the neighbours' cat outside who is probably the friendliest cat I've ever met) This place was was an absolute god send to come back to after two long working days. I hope to be back soon!

After 10 nights in Northern Ireland and Ireland, the four of us agree that Clonacody House hosted by the lovely and fascinating Helen, was the best of the best. Ireland is magical, but with the flood of tourist demands in the last 25 years, some B&Bs and Hotels have gotten nicer, but more generic. Helen's 300+ year old home is beautiful, but with character and grace (like Helen herself) making the stay more than a nice bedroom, but a true Irish experience. Go out of your way to stay there if you can, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Today myself and my cousins spent a lovely afternoon in Clonacody House having afternoon tea. Helen and Michael were wonderful hosts who along with the generous amounts of delicious food in warm relaxing surroundings made it a fabulous experience. We were all very impressed and will definitely be back.

We stayed here for one night and had the afternoon tea which was just amazing, not your typical afternoon tea of cakes and sandwiches which was a delight! Plenty of tea available which was perfect and all food was freshly prepared. We were made to feel completely at home thanks to Helen and Michael who made our stay so enjoyable. Bedrooms are beautiful as well as the en suite, decor throughout the house is fabulous and views outside are picturesque. We will definitely be coming back to Clonacody House! Gemma & Roisin

Had the pleasure of staying in Clonacody House for the weekend. From the moment we walked through the front door, i was in love with this place. The ambience created by Helen and Michael was superb. The smell of the wood burning fires, candles flickering everywhere and the character of this very fine period property made our trip to Tipperary very special. However, I have one complaint!!!! The beds are too comfortable to leave. I would highly recommend this house.

We visited for a family get together. Host was extremely welcoming and the location is very picturesque. The house has been tastefully restored and is located down quiet country lane in the middle of farmland. Facilities are very clean and workable. Would love to try the accommodation some time!

Clonacody house is a hidden gem outside Fethard . Helen is a marvellous ,this house is a credit to her hard work and determination. Comfortable bedrooms with deep sunken baths.. Heaven. It isn't often I rush to write a review of somewhere we've stayed but Helen is such a delightful and warm hostess, our night's rest was so comfortable and the breakfast so delicious that I felt compelled to. After driving 500kms around Ireland looking at horses in the cold and rain, my husband and I fetched up at Clonacody House. Lying in our deep free standing bath, warming the bones and looking at the lovely view across the garden to the far hills was total bliss. It is rare to find such a winning combination, but Helen's formula is just that. We only wish we could have stayed longer chatting round her dining room table after breakfast but we had many more miles ahead of us.
