Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked this beautiful place on Booking.com nearly 3 weeks ago and then today 17th March the day before my trip to Clonacody House staff member Helen phoned me to my mobile to say that they were really sorry "but my room had been cancelled" due to them running out of available rooms and that no reservation was ever received from Booking.com!? I thought it was HIGHLY UNUSUAL that a huge company like Booking.com would take my money for the room and NOT email Clonacody House to let them know that they had a reservation from a guest 3 weeks ago!! I'm a seasoned traveller and have been to many countries and have used Booking.com countless times and NEVER had an issue like this! Very disappointed with this lack of professionalism and cancelling me last minute!! I won't be recommending this place EVER!!

The house itself is nothing short of spectacular, the room was amazing. A huge space with a four poster bed and free standing bath, it was breath taking and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The house is gorgeous but very welcoming. While my husband watched a match on tv I relaxed with a glass of wine and a book in front of a roaring fire. What separates Clonacody from anywhere I have ever stayed was their hospitality. Helen and Michael make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble, we have never been looked after like it. We were attending an event on the grounds and it was so well run, I would definitely say that a wedding here would be very special. The grounds are stunning. I would give it 10 out of 5 if I could and we will definitely be back.

Helen and Michael made me feel part of the family in this beautiful old house in Helen's family since the 30s. My room was huge as was the bathroom with a huge bath and separate shower stall. The gardens are amazing and the trees are really special. It would make an amazing background for a bespoke wedding. I ate in the garden one evening and bought good in Dooks nearby . Breakfast was beautiful and different each day served with a view of the garden. They also rent the whole house to groups. Strongly recommended for a relaxing stay.

We had a wonderful stay in Clonacody House last night. The house is lovely with magnificent views of the mountains. We had spent the day touring around Co Tipperary and were met with a nice bottle of wine to relax when we arrived. We had a lovely room with ensuite bathroom - you could look at a wonderful sycamore tree as you bathed in the clawfoot bath. Our host, Helen, had kindly driven six miles to get food for us ( we had a wonderful Indian takeaway) which meant that we had been able to enjoy the wine without worrying about driving. There are great restaurants in the area but they are just coming out of Covid-19 restrictions but Helen will inform you. She suggested that we visit the local museum in Fethard which was a great idea as it is a gem much of it being devoted to horse racing. The village itself is also very interesting with its almost intact walls around the town. We had a fab lunch in Dooks restaurant in Fethard and then went out to Slievnamon to visit a beautiful garden which Helen had arranged for us. Helen is ably abetted by Maureen in running Clonacody House and the pair of them made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was excellent with fresh berries and the full Irish and lovely breads. I highly recommend staying in Clonacody House.

Spent last weekend with my sister's at Helen's home. I don't normally do B&B's but I'm starting to change my mind!! I didn't book it, so had no idea what to expect. What a warm welcome, a beautiful home, and sumptuous bedrooms. The access to a kitchen was a huge bonus, as we came with supplies!! Huge fires in every room, superb breakfast, all the comforts of home.

Helen is a fantastic host and is so welcoming. We loved the house, the bedroom was comfortable and clean, the toiletries were lovely and, we had a great breakfast. The house is big and there are lovely places to sit inside and out, it is perfect if you are visiting Coolmore Stud, the town is not too far away but you would need a car or use of the local taxi. We would recommend staying here and we will visit again...just to say hello to Helen!

A little out of the way but well worth the drive. Fantastic 300 year old Irish Manor. Our host Helen was amazing, sharing her intimate family estate. Breakfast was the best we had on our tour of Ireland.

Full of charm and comfort. My stay at Clonacody House was like being wrapped in a warm comforting blanket. A welcoming cup of tea and homemade cake were waiting on arrival. The wonderful large drawing room fire was perfect for relaxing in front of. It’s a house steeped in family history going back generations. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a large en-suite and a wonderful view across lawns and fields. The host Helen made me feel so welcome. I didn’t want to leave and will most certainly be going back.

I stayed here for a night in the rush up to Christmas. It was wonderful. Helen and Michael are perfect hosts. Breakfast was to order and served in front of a lighting fire. The fields of South Tipperary kept me company throughout my stay. I strongly recommend it. Cormac

I spent a gorgeous 2 nights with 20 friends ringing in the new year here in 2018. We told jokes by the fire (that our lovely hosts built and lit for us), had a dance by the piano & clinked a sherry when midnight came around! (Well, there may have been 4 or 5 sherrys taken, but it was a special occasion! We stumbled into our 4 poster (felt like a king!) beds at around 3am all laughing about our fabulous night. I could not recommend this cosy, yet impressively grand, house enough. A stunning property I hope to make a return to!
