We had a wonderful stay in Clonacody House last night. The house is lovely with magnificent views of the mountains. We had spent the day touring around Co Tipperary and were met with a nice bottle of wine to relax when we arrived. We had a lovely room with ensuite bathroom - you could look at a wonderful sycamore tree as you bathed in the clawfoot bath. Our host, Helen, had kindly driven six miles to get food for us ( we had a wonderful Indian takeaway) which meant that we had been able to enjoy the wine without worrying about driving. There are great restaurants in the area but they are just coming out of Covid-19 restrictions but Helen will inform you.
She suggested that we visit the local museum in Fethard which was a great idea as it is a gem much of it being devoted to horse racing. The village itself is also very interesting with its almost intact walls around the town. We had a fab lunch in Dooks restaurant in Fethard and then went out to Slievnamon to visit a beautiful garden which Helen had arranged for us.
Helen is ably abetted by Maureen in running Clonacody House and the pair of them made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was excellent with fresh berries and the full Irish and lovely breads. I highly recommend staying in Clonacody House.

The house itself is nothing short of spectacular, the room was amazing. A huge space with a four poster bed and free standing bath, it was breath taking and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The house is gorgeous but very welcoming. While my husband watched a match on tv I relaxed with a glass of wine and a book in front of a roaring fire.
What separates Clonacody from anywhere I have ever stayed was their hospitality. Helen and Michael make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble, we have never been looked after like it.
We were attending an event on the grounds and it was so well run, I would definitely say that a wedding here would be very special. The grounds are stunning.
I would give it 10 out of 5 if I could and we will definitely be back.

Helen and Michael made me feel part of the family in this beautiful old house in Helen's family since the 30s.
My room was huge as was the bathroom with a huge bath and separate shower stall.
The gardens are amazing and the trees are really special.
It would make an amazing background for a bespoke wedding.
I ate in the garden one evening and bought good in Dooks nearby .
Breakfast was beautiful and different each day served with a view of the garden.
They also rent the whole house to groups.
Strongly recommended for a relaxing stay.

Spent last weekend with my sister's at Helen's home.
I don't normally do B&B's but I'm starting to change my mind!!
I didn't book it, so had no idea what to expect. What a warm welcome, a beautiful home, and sumptuous bedrooms. The access to a kitchen was a huge bonus, as we came with supplies!!
Huge fires in every room, superb breakfast, all the comforts of home.

Set in beautiful countryside between Fethard and Clonmel, Clonacody House is an unique and very special place to stay. Dating from the 1780s, it is an impressive country house that uniquely combines unfussy grandeur with a relaxed homely atmosphere. On arrival I noticed that other guests seemed so relaxed and at ease - I soon joined their ranks! Helen and Michael run a magnificent 'home from home'. The bedrooms are magnificent and the public areas are similarly full of charm and warmth. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels - many of them 5 star and excellent - but Clonacody is very, very special!

Thanks to Helen & Mike for a great stay. We hired the house for a family occasion, we made ourselves at home in no time. Beautiful grounds with huge trees, we had sun and rain and the place is equally gorgeous in both. Huge rooms with free standing baths, stunning staircase an lots and lots of history throughout the house from the photos to the furniture.

I may come across bias here as I am from fethard, I took some friends home with me to visit my home town and decided to stay here as there was no room at my parents. Clonacody is an amazing place of Peace and proper Irish countryside. But you are still not to far from one of the oldest pubs and walled towns in Ireland. The rooms are amazing, you can come and go as you wish, chill out in the sitting room, light the fire and play a game of cards. Helen is as everyone says on previous comments an amazing host, I would recommend everyone to come and hideaway here simply a proper retreat place to recharge the batteries with proper Irish fresh air ... If only I could bottle it and sell it.

the house is a proper old irish country house with lots of the original features. I stayed in a lovely room with stripped wood floors a four poster bed the decor was very modern, my bathroom was heavenly and my bath was freestanding in the middle of the room and huge almost the best bath I have ever had. My room overlooked the gardens which were lovely. Helen the owner was lovely and very accomodating when after a rather heavy night did not mind me not coming down for breakfast until 10.30. The dining room was epic painted the same colour her mother had painted it 40 years ago but was timeless, again great decor. Breakfast freshly cooked and delicious. All in all I could not fault my stay for venue, service and the fact you really felt like it was a treat.

Even on the drive up to the house, I knew this place was going to be special. An absolutely beautiful setting and very welcoming reception by the owner Helen who has the place looking fantastic. Only stayed for one night and unfortunately it was a late arrival in the night followed by early departure after breakfast, but really enjoyed my stay. The bed was the most comfortable bed, fantastic and Helen and her partner served a lovely breakfast, exactly as I like it as in you ask for what you would like so there is no piling it on or food wastage. If I had had the time I would have loved to have packed, checked out then had a quick stroll around the grounds and a coffee before heading on the road back to Dublin. Hopefully another time. Wish Helen all the success with her venture, she is doing Ireland (and Tipp) proud.

We stayed at Clonacody, with our horses as our two girls were eventing at Grove the following day. This is a charming country house and Helen provided a delicious supper, followed the next morning by a great breakfast cooked by Mike. The countryside is beautiful and I would recomend Clonacody to anyone who needs a bit of spoiling and rejuvination.
