We traveled there as a family of 18, from England and the US and it was wonderful week. there was ample room for the kids to play and romp around the large grounds, all 7 of them. The Castle is a beautiful building with lots of bedrooms (each with its own ensuite bathroom) so everyone could have their own space. The kitchen was spacious, we had no problem cooking for 18 people there. A beautiful dining room. The living room had a wonderful working fireplace. We all enjoyed playing a game of "snooker" in the "snooker room" right off the living room. The back covered patio is a great addition to the home, we found ourselves out there every evening enjoying the cool Ireland air with the outdoor heaters keeping us nice and warm. It was also a great space to have breakfast. We also found it to be a good location to travel from to visit many of the sites in the Irish inland and coastal areas.

Bansha Castle was the perfect setting to celebrate my 80th birthday with family and friends. The accommodation was elegant, comfortable, and homey, and the hosts, John and Teresa were more than welcoming. They arranged a night of music for us that was enjoyed by all and made for a very special birthday party, and also recommended an excellent caterer, Kay Ryan and her husband Shane, who provided tasty breakfasts and some delicious evening buffets for us. It was a week of celebration enjoyed by all.

Delighted that we finally got an opportunity to enjoy this stunning home and picturesque location. Due to stay in March 2020, that was postponed until mid October 2021 but was all the more special after the time apart. It was an ideal spot for a family get-together of 4 families and Granny. The house was toasty warm and welcoming on arrival, the dining table beautifully set - looking too perfect to disturb. Kids of all ages found a spot to be together for games and chats, and adults enjoyed being able to relax with a glass of wine. The house both indoors and out is exquisite, beautifully maintained and presented and the rooms are all stunning. The gardens are perfect with even a little set of goals for the kids to enjoy. There were plenty of muddy boots left by the door. Overall, a wonderful experience and one we hope to repeat. We are so grateful that John and Teresa shared their wonderful home with us.

What a lovely gem of a place. There is such coziness in the place although lots of space for catching up and getting some fresh air walks. Teresa is an absolute lady and willing to assist in any way she can. A really great weekend away with friends.
Rooms are old world and yet modern, without being run down. Fixtures and little touches dotted around the rooms make you feel right at home.
If spending some cozy nights here in during winter, bring some fine wine and food as eateries are within driving distance.
Will be returning again!

We are a family who loves to travel, and this was one of the most delightful experiences for all of us. Our hosts, John and Teresa Russell, were charming, and their attention to detail was impeccable. The castle is welcoming, very comfortable and accommodates all ages. There were 10 of us ranging from teenagers to age 86. The grounds are beautiful. Without exception, every room has a breathtaking view. I knew it would be lovely, but it far exceeded our expectations. You’ll find it situated. Ideally for further exploration by car or train. The small town of Bansha is a treasure, be sure to make friends with the butcher and the pub owner. We enjoyed having a trained chef team come in and demonstrate and prepare an Irish meal for us. Truly a highlight. It was hard to leave, but we came away with memories to last a lifetime. We will surely return. - Joanne Leitch and Family.

Me and my brothers promised my Dad a family holiday for his 80th birthday last year, and decided to go with Bansha after a comprehensive search. We definitely made the right choice, couldn't have asked for more.
We stayed for a full week in August. The Castle is in wonderful condition, all the rooms were a good size, plenty of bathrooms and great kitchen facilities. We cooked most nights, using the kitchen and the wonderful patio area. There were 18 of us in total, 11 adults and 7 kids, but we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. The grounds are beautiful, and we used them a lot, having gotten really lucky with the weather. We had a bouncy castle set up on the front lawn for a few days, which added to the kids' experience. The location is very convenient - walking distance to the local pub in the village as needed. We also did trips to the Glen of Aherloe, Tramore Beach, and Mitchelstown caves, as well as Cahir Castle and a few other spots in the vicinity.
The owners, Teresa and John, were really helpful from the moment we made an initial inquiry online to when we arrived and then during our stay. Anything we needed they were happy to assist, and it was great dealing with them.

From the time we arrived everything was wonderful! Teresa greeted us and took two of us on a Covid safe tour of this, her amazing home! We were a party of 21 and we couldn’t have hoped for better. Each family had a bedroom each, all of which were decorated beautifully and in keeping with the castle’s period. The kitchen is quite small but has everything you could want or need. The lounge and dining room were fabulous but we didn’t use them much as we had fantastic weather for the entire stay. We chose to spend most of our time outside in the garden to the rear. There, there is a magnificent garden with a table , chairs and parasol on the patio. There is also an area with chairs and tables in complete shade and with heaters if you were staying in cooler weather. Here, there is also a barbecue. All in all I can’t speak highly enough about Teresa and her wonderful home. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely love to go back. 💕

We spent seven nights in this beautiful castle in south-central Ireland. Built in 1760, it’s situated on five acres near the picturesque Glen of Aberlow and the Galtee mountains. John and Theresa Russell, the hosts, have created en suites in each of the bedrooms, creating modern conveniences while retaining the antique charm. An unforgettable experience!

We had the best weekend in Bansha Castle, in the most beautiful surroundings. Everything from the moment we arrived was amazing, from the house features, to the outside BBQ area, the gardens, and the local countryside. We had a brilliant music session the 1st night in Nellie's pub in Bansha village, which was just a 5 mins walk away. John organised everything for us. Both himself & Teresa were so lovely to deal with and very accommodating with any requests we had. The beds were really comfy and the local caterers were excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a stay here. I'll definitely be back again! Thank you for an unforgettable trip! :-)

I can’t say enough about Bansha Castle and how wonderful our stay was. We were there over a weekend for my Mums 70th Birthday. I was looking for a house to accommodate 19 of us with a wide range of ages from 1yr to 74yrs and teenagers. The house was so amazing with so much space amazingly child friendly with so much room for the kids to run around. Gorgeous bedrooms big enough to accommodate us all and the various sleeping arrangements with no one feeling anyway over crowded and you don’t hear a thing with the thick walls. The house is so cozy, warm and relaxing it was just brilliant and exactly what we were looking for in a family get away but loads of room so we weren’t on top of each other. John and Teresa are just brilliant. Thanks so much for letting us stay in your wonderful home it’s amazing and I would highly recommend it for any occasion.
