Mary was the most personable, kind and gracious host. The room was comfortable, spotless and quiet and the breakfasts, some of the food made by Mary herself, substantial and delicious. Bansha House is both traditional and modern and at the core of a racing horse farm. The horses are lovely and so are the grounds. My three nights here were splendid and if I return to Ireland this is where I’ll stay.

We stayed 5 days at Bansha House and had a quiet and charming stay. The places lend themselves and the welcome of Mary and her Irish breakfast are of high quality with homemade jams. We were able to radiate around and visit the area by going to the sea Mary's advice was always wise. His smile and dynamism won us over. Thank you, Mary!

This is not a guest house this is a most beautiful home that Mary invites you in as family not as a guest. I have been lucky enough to travel the world and been in some fancy hotels in my time but this experience in Bansha is top class. If you want to feel at home and not away if you want the best welcome, accommodation and breakfast this is the place/palace for you. Thanks Mary we will see you soon

What a pleasant surprise this place was! Situated in between horse farms the grand old house is absolutely beautiful. Bansha House is run by the 84-year old Mary, who is just lovely, makes a great breakfast and makes you feel right at home. She has interesting stories to tell and loves to hear yours.

We had an amazing stay in Bansha House. I was so excited to stay here because the exterior reminds me of Longbourn from the BBC Pride and Prejudice. The home was charming and the hostess even more so, offering lovely conversation and valuable insight into local attractions. We had a delightful stay!

From the very warm greeting my wife and I received on arrival, coupled with the cup of tea and homemade porter cake we enjoyed in the kitchen of this 280 year old house, we knew we were at home and relaxed totally. We met the lady of the house, Mary, a true lady in every sense, her son Ed and her friend Margaret as we chatted over the cup of tea. Our bedroom had an en-suite and a really comfortable bed. The view from the window displayed the lush Tipperary countryside, complete with a beautiful rose border, an oak tree and horses in the field. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed a delicious Irish breakfast which included homemade bread, cake, stewed rhubarb and jams. I would definitely recommend this classic Irish B and B.

This B&B has it all: An old country house, a very charming hostess, a cosy livingroom with open fire, lovely rooms with beautiful views, comfortable beds and delicious breakfast.
We really enjoyed our stay in Bansha House in early January. The house is located in a picturesque rural setting in county Tipperary. Mary Marnane was very helpful with tips, recommended the best restaurants and helped us planning our sightseeing tour. Though the rooms did not have a television, there is a big one in the living room for guests to use (with many different channels). Attached to the house is the flat racing yard of Mary's son, with excellent training facilities well worth having a look.
If you would like to experience the rural Ireland, stay here.

This is a charming estate house full of horse racing history and hosted by one of the best hostesses that we have encountered. Mary made us feel like we were old friends and gave us the benefit of her local knowledge to send us to a marvelous restaurant that we would never have found on our own. We only stayed one night, but could have easily stayed on for more. The room itself was comfy and quiet and the grounds are spectacular.

When you arrive, you pull down a long driveway with horse grazing on either side. YOu arrive at this beautiful house in the middle of the Irish Countryside and Ms. Mary comes to greet you. We felt so at home. Mary welcomed us, gave us some great pointers on where to go and what to do in the area and even introduced our little one to her granddaughter. A great place to stay!!

Mary is the most welcoming host, her beautiful country house is the perfect location. The homemade bread, cake and scones were so delicious. The breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or full Irish were the best in the whole of Ireland. I will be back again. The perfect country estate with beautiful gardens and the horses in the lush green paddocks were relaxed and enjoying life.
