Nestled on 1,000 acres of undulating Irish countryside, dotted with ancient woodland and glittering lakes, Castle Leslie Estate is one of the last great Irish Castle estates still in the hands of its founding family. Located in Co. Monaghan, Ireland, the Estate is only 80 minutes from Dublin and 60 minutes from Belfast. The Castle (21 individual guestrooms), at the heart of the Estate, offers authentic original interiors and old-style hospitality and is a complete respite from the world. The Lodge (50 guestrooms) is the social hub of the Estate and brings locals and guests together in an atmosphere of conviviality and comfort. The two-bedroom Old Stable Mews is the perfect spot for families and groups that want the convenience of hotel living combined with private luxury home rental. A host of activities are on offer including horse riding, pike fishing, boating, walking trails, archery, clay target shooting, hot air balloon rides, falconry and spa treatments.

Spent a really lovely overnight in Castle Leslie recently. This is not our first time to stay here – lucky us! There is always plenty of parking, and as usual, check-in was handled promptly and professionally. Our room, in the lodge, was huge, and beautifully decorated in olde world style. It had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable overnight stay. There was a sanitising gel dispenser on the wall in our room, and it was good to see a plentiful supply of dispensers all around the lodge where we were. As part of our B&B experience, were invited to a bubbly and canapé reception at 5pm in the castle, so that was a nice little addition to our evening. We dined in Conor’s bar, and opted for two courses - Tempura Monkfish and Tempura Vegetables for starters, and Cajun Spiced Chicken Burger and Duo of Irish Lamb for mains. Oh the food here never fails to please, it was cooked to perfection and served on very interesting crockery – so lovely and different so see meals served on crockery that is other than white!. A couple of G&T’s helped to wash down this lovely food. It’s so peaceful here at night time that you can’t help but have a good sleep! Breakfast was another delight – a decent buffet for cereals, pastries, fruit, cold meats etc. with hot breakfasts cooked to order. We liked the new layout in the restaurant, and the introduction of dining booths. Loved the new upholstery too – different themes and colours (including tartan) which was very interesting. We headed out for a short walk around the estate before checking out. We loved our overnight stay here and will definitely be back. The standard of customer care here is consistently good.

We had a fantastic couple of days staying at Castle Leslie. The staff are great, the grounds are stunning and the castle itself is wonderful! Afternoon tea was super as is the breakfast and Snaffles Restaurant is a must. Overall we had a memorable experience and I would highly recommend Castle Leslie... worth every penny!

Rooms in the lodge all have a luxurious feel and are quite large. We ate in the lounge bar and restaurant both nights and the food was excellent. We were quite surprised at the quality for the lounge. The breakfast was outstanding, with good buffet options and a large menu to order dishes from. The Estate is very relaxing with lots of walking paths and the Castle has many nice rooms to visit and relax in. Would recommend if you are looking for a relaxing break and to be cut off from the outside world. The best part is the customer service, the staff are well trained and extremely attentive.

This was our first time to stay at Castle Leslie. We stayed in The Lodge, in room Pluto in mid-January. The welcome received set the tone for a wonderful stay. The room was beautiful with temperature control, the most comfortable bed as well as a beautiful bathroom equipped with toiletries of a really good standard. Attention to detail is of the highest standard and no request is too much for each and every member of staff. Dinner in Snaffles restaurant was a treat and breakfast offered everything to a really good standard. The Spa treatment was excellent and the tranquil surroundings of the relaxation room including the use of an outdoor hot tub all make sure that Castle Leslie is a great place to stay. The estate offers beautiful walks and a visit to the Castle for the tour is a must. When we return, would definitely like to stay in the Castle itself which offers a completely different but equally great experience. Thank you to all. Looking forward to a return visit.

Absolutely superb. Have stayed quite a few times before but this time really stood out to me. From Tania on reception who was very helpful, to Enda who did a superb tour of the castle, to Thomas who gives a firm back massage to the blonde lady who did my Eminence facial (unfortunately cannot remember her name). All top class. Can’t wait to return. Breakfast was outstanding.

Beautiful Irish Country Estate. Here for a short stay, very warm welcome. Staying in the lodge, short walk to the Castle, wonderful experience. Ray ensured we were well looked after and filled us in on the history of the estate - thanks Ray. We ended our evening with a very good meal in Snaffles Restaurant washed down with some excellent wine under the astute guidance of a very knowledgeable sommelier Daniel - thank you Daniel and all the team in Snaffles.
