Detailed Reviews
The bedrooms were clean and comfortable: our rooms both had a double and single bed, so there wasn't a lot of room, but would be good if travelling with a child. The rooms were at the back of the building, so face the car park or inner courtyard, so were quiet. The bathroom was a shower room, but plenty big enough. Breakfast was fantastic, with loads of options and very reasonably priced. The food in the pub was also great. You can get a direct bus into Dublin from right outside the hotel and it takes about 45-50 minutes. It takes about 25 mins to drive here from the airport via the M50/N2.

Myself and my partner Niall treanor stayed in your hotel last night for a night,
Have to state we weren't happy from start to finish, lady on reception was no way friendly. My partner was charged 150e where he was quoted 130 when booking the room over the phone, without breakfast, we couldn't reserve a table for food or the rugby which was okay in the end as we went else where, this morning when we had check out it says 12pm online, we got a call to the room at 11.25am saying we've five mins until checkout time.
Which I stated on the phone it says different online. Man on the other end of the phone was so rude.
Not a nice date night away. Then to send a email to be completely rudly ignored.
Will definitely leave an unhappy review on trip advisor as we where not treated like residents

Stay here for two nights last weekend. The food was lovely every time we had it.
Rooms where abit dated but very big and extremely clean.
The downside was the residents bar… there wasn’t one. I asked after last order if I could get a pint since I was staying here and was told not till the bar is empty. The place was still jammed.
Also there was English gypsies going around asking what peoples rooms numbers were in the car park. The smoking area should be open to guests 24/7 to avoid such hassle.

I never ate here because I felt there is no way I could eat anything cooked from here , the staff were fine I avoided any conversation but were helpful when I needed an issue sorted . This place had beds that you can sleep in and they are clean . I would never ever stay here again unless everywhere else in Ashbourne burned down . Hotel should be demolished, it’s older than pyramids & costs just as much as the ritz to stay here . If your standards for hotels are low then you’ll be delighted with this place it’s the most lowball place I’ve stayed in , in years . If this place was cheap I’d actually give it 5 stars because you get what you pay for and I would not expect a lot for my money , but they charge top dollar for a room so I’m not going back ever ………….

I stayed here a couple of years ago and had a fantastic experience. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Ashbourne, with shops, restaurants, and attractions all within walking distance. Plus, the bus stop is conveniently right on the doorstep, making it easy to explore further.

Was staying at the hotel to attend a friends birthday in Ashbourne. Original booked two rooms but cancelled one few days before I arrived but paid for other room in advance of arriving. People staying in the room with me arrived about 9pm and were given a room key. When I arrived about 12:30am I was given a key to a different room. Only when we arrived back about 3am did we realise we had two rooms. When trying to return one of the rooms, the night Manager was abusive and more a less accused me of trying to take a second room I hadn't paid for. At 9:30am the next morning there was banging on my door. When I went down to complain to the on Duty Manager I was told, "it's not our staff", "booking two rooms and then cancelling one is all very confusing" and "check out is 12pm". I've stayed in hotels all over Ireland for business and leisure and this has been the worse experience. I would not recommend this hotel and will never return to it.

Lovely little hotel, receptionist at check in was efficient but young receptionist was very serious. Have to say the bar/dining staff have to be the happiest and most friendly I ever met!!! The food in the bar at dinner was super. Best Seafood Chowder I ever tasted. Pasta and salads and nachos all piping hot too and so tasty. Very reasonable prices for hotel stay and bar food. Covid regulations followed everywhere. Bedroom spotlessly clean. A few extra pillows and little milk cartons for cups of tea and I would have liked a black out blind on window to keep room dark. All in all It’s a lovely friendly and handy hotel for Tayto Park. We will definitely be back.

We stopped off on our way back from Tayto park. Ordered our food and drinks, drinks came out and one of the glasses had lipstick on it. We asked for a new glass but they never replaced the drink just expected us to pour the drink out of the dirty glass into the clean one. We were then brought the bill and asked to pay before we got the dinner. Dinner came out stone cold with lumpy potatoes. Not once did anyone come back to check if we were ok. Very disappointed.

staff appeared to be very nice and welcoming. The down fall was when ordering a drink you had to pay each time you ordered a drink. Even when we ordered a meal we had to pay before even getting the meal. The reason we had to pay before the meal was supply because the food was muck. The standard was very high Until we got the food. Oxtail soup was used for the gravy for the roast of the day. The piri piri chicken was covered in hot sauce. Clearly wasn’t piri piri. The chicken burger was half cooked. The chips clearly were oven chips and were cooked in oil, I don’t think I need to say anymore. AVOID this place.

I think the law is 7.30pm but you could stay in the lobby with the children later and take your drink from the bar.
