We recently stayed in the Killeshin Hotel for 2 nights as a family of four. Firstly, the good points: 1. Breakfast was good and plenty of options; the kids loved the pancake maker. 2. We ate in the bar both nights, food was excellent. 3. I had requested a quiet room, which we were given, at the end of a corridor. It did overlook the main road, but we had no other guests passing by the room. 4. Plenty of complimentary parking. 5. Good wifi. Negatives: 1. The cleanliness of the hotel is not good enough. The floor of the bar was dirty with food and the lobby had dirt on the ground/on the armchair. More attention to detail is required. We found drinks belonging to previous guests behind the curtain in our bedroom. 2. The desk in the bedroom, it is in a 'T' shape, so a large portion of the desk juts out towards the beds, and it was awkward and in the way. 3. The pool area is dated and in need of a revamp- the water was extremely cloudy and made using it uncomfortable- we only used it the once. 4. (Some) Staff need more training. On both mornings at breakfast, two different staff members passed me tea/coffee over my 2 year old sons head. This is a safety issue. (some) Staff at dinner seemed uninterested and almost like we were bothering them. 5. Beds weren't great , they seemed old - one side was very soft and the other very hard. Well worn it seemed. The drawers in our room, were not on the runners and were a danger for our young children as they are very heavy. I spoke to reception on our 1st day, and I was told someone would look at them. The next day, still no one had shown up. I had to say it again, and the F&B manager came to our room and agreed it wasn't good enough. He had no maintenance staff at that stage, so he advised us not to use it at all. It was really disappointing that having raised an issue, no one came to fix it originally. The F&B managers hands were tied at that point, as he had just found out about it. As a gesture of good will, he looked after us at dinner that evening and he dealt with an issue as well he could. We stayed in this hotel a number of years ago, and it unfortunately has dis improved. Most issues we encountered were attention to detail. Simple things, that added together, left us with a negative experience of the hotel.

We recently stayed at this hotel for one night to celebrate a personal occasion. We were checked in by a very pleasant, mannerly, respectful lady who was very professional. Our bedroom was perfect. It was very spacious with a comfortable bed and pillows. What we noticed was how clean our bedroom was and the nice fresh scent in the bedroom. The bathroom was also very spacious with a good shower and nice toiletries which is a nice touch. We had a meal in the restaurant where we were served again by a friendly, polite, respectful, helpful and knowledgeable member of staff. What we noticed was his overall knowledge of the restaurant and recognised how he treated all couples in the restaurant the same. The food was excellent, we could not recommend it enough. We had drinks in the bar, which had a good atmosphere and live music (Saturday Night). The bar staff were very busy at stages throughout the evening/night. However, they worked as a team and they communicated well with one another in providing a good service to the customers. In the past in different pubs/hotels a busy bar affects the service given which was not the case here. The bar staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. For a busy hotel, there was no noise heard during the night The breakfast provided was also excellent. Plenty of options which were fresh. I went at 10.15am which was busy. Although breakfast was almost finished, the staff kept providing fresh items to the hot buffet. I was impressed with this as my experience of hotels at breakfast time is not like my experience at the Killeshin. The staff at breakfast were helpful, friendly and polite. Overall we were very pleased with our stay in the Killeshin Hotel and will be back again in the near future.

Last month my wife and I stayed I this hotel for 2 nights on a bed and breakfast basis while in Ireland for a family wedding. While the public areas of the hotel are attractive and well maintained, the same cannot be said of the rooms - or at least the one in which my wife and I stayed. The bathroom tap was extremely stiff in operation. My wife found it difficult to work the tap, and it produced a horrible screech when adjusted, as did the bathroom door when it was opened and closed. While we reported these issues to reception, nothing was done. The washbasin was cracked, and the bath had quite off-putting dirty brown scratches in the surface. The towel rail was missing. The bedroom furniture was in an extremely poor state of repair, with drawers difficult to open and close. The undersheet to our bed was too small. Matters were not improved by the fact that our room overlooked an internal area where there was some sort of party going on both nights. To cap it all, we were then woken at 4:00am on one of the nights we stayed, by what sounded like a fight in the corridor outside our room. We had little sleep! The breakfast was of a reasonable standard. I was reluctant to pass comment on this website without first seeking some sort of redress from the hotel. I therefore emailed on 24 August seeking the hotel management's comments. In the absence of a response by 3 September I sought Bord Failte's observations, again by email. I am surprised and disappointed that 10 days later I have still received not received the elementary courtesy of even an acknowledgement from either source.

My husband & I spent one night in the Killeshin Hotel, check in was easy and the room clean. We booked a table in the bar that night. The hotel was full and the staff were under extreme pressure. There was only one person working the bar and maybe three staff. Families on both side of us had to ask for food that had been order 40 minutes previously and not arrived. I asked for a few items on numerous occasions but they never arrived. My husband had to bring his glass back to the bar if he wanted a drink as the staff did not have time to clear glasses. The man beside me eventually had to get his own knife & fork it did not arrive with the food. The staff were really nice & apologized for the delay. It was obvious they were under so much pressure. I spoke to the duty manager the following day and outlined my concerns, she said she would have somebody phone me that day. No call. I emailed the Hotel Manager and again outlined my concerns for the staff but to date (nearly two weeks later) no reply. It is obvious the management did not want to receive constructive feedback - what a pity

We stopped here e route to Killarney after getting off the Belfast Ferry. The hotel was comfortable and clean. There appeared to be a function in the restaurant so had to eat in the bar although we had booked in on a DB&B basis, the food was good and plentiful but some of the staff could do with a bit more training. Overall a good stay.

Date stayed 23rd - 25th august 2022. We as a family wore planning a city break away from our expensive city Dublin. We booked a different hotel then decided to changed to the killeshin hotel. This was due to the great deal that they wore offered for our family for 2 nights for 2 adults and 2 kids which included breakfast for both Mornings, family room, a evening meal for one night, plus one activity. From the minute we arrived at the hotel we wore met with most beautiful staff, very friendly and very welcoming. We had lunch and dinner the first night and the food was to an amazing standard, great portions and great selection all the family wore happy. I would like to make a special mention to some amazing staff members, especially the waiter/barman Luke who went above and beyond to make our our little girls feel so special and welcome. This guy was so charismatic, kind and just a genuine lovely guy who is an asset to the service industry and key asset to this hotel having returning members. He was absolutely amazing. I would also like to mention Deirdre and the reception team who also made our girls feel like they wore part of the team. The hotel meets every need you want for a budget friendly few nights away. Amazing food. Genuine kind staff in all areas. Nice clean rooms. I was very impressed.
