Picked Roundwood House after looking for places to stay when looking at someone's honeymoon choice at Kinnitty. Travelled down from Dublin with anticipation, especially as the weather was so good. Roundwood exceeded expectations in respect of setting, character of house and friendliness of owners, their family and their animals. We were served tea and cakes on arrival and felt we...

We had a wonderful stay at the Roundwood house. If you have children I highly recommend a stay here especially if you love the out doors. We stayed at the Roundwood house to break up the drive from Ballybunion to the Dublin airport. What we found was an amazing outdoor space that our 2 year old could explore and we...

At the end of 10 days travelling around Ireland, we treated ourselves to a night at Roundwood House en route back to Dublin. It was everything we hoped for and more - a wonderful sense of history in the house & grounds combined with comfort & excellent food. Our hosts - Hannah, Paddy & the animal menagerie - were so...

Thank you to Hannah & Paddy for the most wonderful food, hospitality and accommodation. Hannah helped me to organise the whole event for 21 family members, while I was in the UK. Everything was seamless from the minute we arrived. Her food is truly splendid.

We stayed at the forge. It was magical. We kept the fire lit, listened the rain come down in a perfect silence, made friends with the cats and dogs, had morning walks around the house and the along the stunning views of the countryside. There's a library that's everything you would ever imagine it to be, at least for a...

Staying at Roundwood House made for a perfect ending of a fantastic two-week vacation in Ireland. We knew nothing about County Laois prior to our arrival and were pleasantly surprised to find out that there were so much to do there and it was such a pretty place. Paddy and Hannah were excellent hosts, keeping us very well fed and...

I brought my wife and two teenagers to Ireland, intent upon knocking the socks off of them. Thanks to Hanna and Paddy, it was as grand a mass de-socking as anyone could ever wish for. You should have seen it. Socks everywhere. Better still, don't imagine it: Go to Ireland, skip the sterile hotels for a bit, and go to...

Tasty breakfast and comfortable bed. A TV with just the Irish channels would be a bonus. Hannah and Paddy were a delight to talk to. Coffee was served whenever it was asked and a fire was put on for our comfort even though it was July. The farmhouse animals were lovely to watch and would suspect a delight for young...
