What a lovely old house and grounds. If you want peace, quiet and delicious cuisine please go to Roundwood House. Hannah and Paddy were excellent hosts. Paddy is the chef and is so inventive with his meal preparations. I met the most interesting people staying at Roundwood and the camaraderie was delightful. The grounds are lovely to walk and I...

The best part of my stay here was the wonderful dinners and breakfasts. The place was in remarkable condition given it being over 200 years old. Both hosts were very knowledgeable about the history of Ireland and we're happy to help with planning activities in the area. The room was totally silent and dark at night.

The hotel and grounds have an extraordinary sense of history but combined with wonderful Irish hospitality. As another guest said you practically felt like a a member of an extended family-a distant cousin perhaps- arriving for a visit. Also no review would be complete without a word of praise for the cooking. Imaginative, varied and interesting without becoming over elaborate-...

A grey day in April-clouds touching the ground-thick mist turning sometimes into rain- roads waterlogged and busy- And then Roundwood House !! The door opened and our day changed utterly! Rays of warmth flowed out to greet us. We had a genuinely warm welcome from our beautiful hostess Hannah, lovely heat flowing through the entrance hall, a fantastic blazing turf...

Was really looking forward to this stay after reading many great reviews. Before we could unpack our bags we engaged with a bird watcher who informed us a remarkable sound we just heard was a greater spotted woodpecker. Unknown to be ever in that county ever before! A great start and set the trend for our entire stay. We then...

Total relaxation! Two very tasty Kirs arrived before dinner and then WOW! A very very tasty starter, main course and desert arrived, cooked by Paddy...

Fabulous place, birthday party for 20 people, Hannah and Paddy were amazing hosts, I arrived at 23:30 and was greeted warmly. I stayed in the book room in the outside house, bathroom with shower, very comfortable. A great place to unwind from the huddle and bustle of life
