Lawlor's of Naas, Town Centre Hotel is often celebrated for its impeccable cleanliness and charming atmosphere, complete with live music that enchants guests. The central location is a hit among travelers, ensuring easy access to local shops and attractions. However, opinions on value for money vary, with some deeming it overpriced. While the rooms are spacious, issues with heat and noise are not uncommon. The service is generally friendly and professional, despite occasional lapses in efficiency. Stayed on a 2 night B&B and 1 dinner package. We were given a really big disabled friendly room as I'm currently walking with the aid of a crutch. The bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was huge with a level access shower. There were 2 regular washbasins with a further low level one for a wheelchair user. There was even a jacuzzi bath. The food and service were first class throughout. The bedroom decor needs updating but as there's a extension being built, that may be planned as part of the refurbishment. Recommended.

During the Pandemic I have eating in Lawlor's of Nass nearly every day, the food and staff are excellent and so friendly. This hotel is one of the safest places to eat or stay overnight that I have found, because of their attention to hygiene and the safety of their clients and Staff. The management and staff are very helpful and go out of their way to look after you. As a Tour Guide for over 25 years and sadly out of work, I have not written any reviews this year, however in this case, I felt I had to and let people know of this great Hotel.

Wow! Decided to take a few nights away to celebrate my partner's birthday and didn't want to stay in Dublin again. We came across this hotel after reading reviews and viewing the hotel online, booked 2 nights. I contacted the hotel reservations team via email to ask if a room upgrade was possible and a big thanks to Shona who quickly responded with a "yes not a problem" and added a few little touches to the room to acknowledge my partner's birthday. Hotel reception and Vi's bar is stunning with one of the best outside spaces I have come across. Our room was enormous with a massive bed that was so comfortable we didn't want to leave it! The shower cubicle was huge and waterfall shower a dream 😍 We ate in the Bistro which has an extensive menu and was good quality, really tasty and reasonably priced. Also had breakfast in there which is fab. Big shout out to the staff for service and attention to detail and so many of them! Could go on and on about this hotel but do yourself a favour and try it out for yourself. Look forward to returning.

We booked in for 4 tonight however one member of our party got held up with work and it ended up just 3 of us. We were informed upon booking that we would have to order a minimum of two courses per person which under the current restrictions we can completely understand in order for the table to be worth the restaurants time. So no objections to this we each order 2 courses each and 2 cocktails each. The fourth member of our party managed to make the end of our meal (after our main courses) and came to meet us at the restaurant. She then ordered a drink from the waitress who then came back the manager to explain she couldn’t order a drink as she didn’t order food and was actually told “you can’t sit there”. We explained we booked a table for four so couldn’t see why she couldn’t sit there but understood she couldn’t order a drink as she didn’t order food so I ordered the drink. I had ordered my two courses I was perfectly entitled to order a drink. Almost taken back management then proceeded to say “well you can order a drink but you’ll have to drink it” and upon agreeing the woman finished with “I don’t make the rules”. As a waitress myself I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thought this (In my head) but obviously I don’t say this out loud because I have an ounce of customer service skills and manners. We were then watched like hawks from this point on making our experience extremely uncomfortable. I gave my friend a taste of MY cocktail which I had ordered and quite frankly after ordering is mine to do what I want with considering I’m paying for it? And the management the came over, moved my glass in closer to me with her bare hand which had no gloves on (since they are so concerned over covid) and told us we are being watched on the cameras??
I don’t know about anyone else but I do not go out to spend over €100 on dinner to be told I’m being ‘watched on cameras’ as though I’m some sort of criminal. I couldn’t believe how we were being spoken to and as someone who works in the industry (and have been working since covid) understanding the current pressures waiting staff are under I still can’t comprehend the lack of customer service and the idea that a server can speak to a group of paying customers like this.
If you even divided our bill between the four of us it would come to €34.75 each well over the required €9 spend per person. There was no need for the scrutiny we faced or quizzing as to who was drinking my drink that I ordered which I was perfectly entitled to order? As if my friend trying some of my alcoholic drink was going to increase our risk of the spread of covid? Absolutely ridiculous if you want to go out for a relaxing meal I wouldn’t bother with Lawlors under the current restrictions unless you want to be watch, scrutinized, monitored on ‘cameras’ and spoken to as if you aren’t a paying customer by unprofessional staff.

Firstly, I would like to say that while we are delighted you came to dine with us at Lawlor’s, we are disappointed that you are criticising us for sticking to the guidelines laid out by the government. We have had excellent reviews based on our balance between safety and hospitality and are signed up to the Failte Ireland Charter. I completely understand that it was a difficult situation as your guest was late but unfortunately, we cannot bend the rules set out to protect everyone. As citizens, we are all in this together to keep everyone safe and you mentioned that you understand the difficulty currently faced by waiters and managers. We have a great team who have worked very hard throughout this crisis and a lot of the pressure they face is around guests trying to get them to bend the rules to suit individual needs. After speaking to the team member in question, I believe we were correct in our handling of the situation and that your depiction is incomplete and inaccurate. Government restrictions at the moment specify that we simply cannot have anyone on the premises consuming alcohol and not eating a substantial meal and I definitely do not think it is ok to share your drink with a guest not dining with us. Your friend joined your table by entering through a side entrance thereby not having her temperature checked or hands sanitised at our front entrance which in fact puts our business at risk. Additionally, as a waitress yourself, I am sure you will have been through Covid 19 Training at work, so you will know that clean hands are safer than gloved hands and that sharing a glass is not advisable. In these very stressful times, I find it regretful that you have chosen to post a poor review of our Covid practices but we have the best interests of our staff, patrons and the general public at the heart of all the precautions we have implemented.

We stayed in the hotel for a friends birthday on the 18th July and we had a terrible stay as there was no air conditioning in any part of the hotel, we were provided with a small fan in the room which just blew hot air around we literally got no sleep as the room was so small and stuffy, we paid €155 for one night and breakfast was not included.
There were only 2 pillows on the bed and my husband opened the wardrobe to see if there were any more he took a plastic bag out which had an old throw in it and his clothes got ruined by the amount of dust on the bag.
There was holes in the duvet cover, plaster falling off the bathroom ceiling, black mildew in the shower area, broken plug sockets, no tea/coffee facilities, and the TV did not work stations would not load.

We were booked in for dinner in the restaurant but we had to be moved outside as again no air con in the restaurant, the staff were very friendly and the food was good and tasty. I felt so sorry for the staff as they had no air con and it must have been so uncomfortable for them serving and wearing masks.

Thank you Nikki, we are disappointed that you didn't enjoy your stay, unfortunately, as an old hotel air conditioning isn't in place in our current building and it was very hot in July, we supply the fans to try and alleviate that. Great that you enjoyed our Bistro, we have a great team and have passed that on to them. Our new extension opening later this year will have air conditioning and we have a program of refurbishment planned in our current bedrooms but the last 18 months has impacted the speed at which we have been able to do that. I know things are a little different in bedrooms, the limited facilities were in keeping with the Failte Ireland Covid 19 safety Charter and while it keeps everyone safer we appreciate it does impact some elements of your stay. We got housekeeping to double-check all of the stored blankets they are checked on every clean so there should not have been dust in the Wardrobe. We hope you get to stay with us again when you are in Naas.

My second awful experience at Lawlors and definitely will not be returning.

I booked a table for 4 people last night. I had to make a deposit of 80 euros which I was not informed of the amount of the deposit until payment was taken from my bank account.

On arrival we were told we may aswell avail of the 3 course mean for €35 instead of just a main course that would be the same price.

3/4 people ordered roast beef as our main course.
We received pork smuddered in beef gravy.

It was very obvious that it was pork as the meat was grey/white in colour, very tough and completely different taste to beef.
I know what both pork and beef taste and look like.

Once we realised we stopped eating and complained.

I stated it would have been nice to have been giving a choice before just giving a pork dinner.

Our plates were taken away to be inspected without permission.

The manager came out and said "it was beef. There was no pork on the menu."
My younger brother said there was pork on the menu to the manager.

She told me she wasn't going to argue with me and walked away.

All staff vanished from the floor. I could see them in the kitchen behind our table arguing.

The manager was clearly talking about us on the restaurant floor to other staff and management. She told the male manager to come over to us but he did not.

We were then giving our deserts and were completely ignored by staff. They went around gathering plates off other tables asking if everyone was ok but our table.

We stacked our plates and put our coats on waiting for the bill as we weren't allowed to get up and pay due to covid regulations.
We waited and waited.
I had to get somebody's attention after a long while.

We were charged full price for the wrong meals and no customer service what so ever. 160 euros, deposit included.

So rude and ignorant.
I wish we just walked out and left our deposit.

We were all under 25 years old so I feel they thought they could just fob us off due to our age.

On the way back to the car park we overheard a gentleman saying his beef didn't seem like beef either.

Rang to book two tables for 7 people, paid a deposit of €120. I asked why a deposit was needed and was told because of the time of year. When we arrived last Saturday the menu was a set menu of €35 per person which we were not told about when booking. I explained to a staff member that we were not aware of this so she called the manager Karl to our table. This man was extremely rude and insisted he told me this when he phoned to confirm the booking. I explained to him that he did not but he continously insisted and actually bent down to my level when doing so. I was so shocked by his behaviour I had no word's. Our food arrived which was disgusting and extremely disappointing. The Christmas Dinner was not edible and the steak was over cooked. The staff members were very nice and did not charge us for the extra supplement on the steaks. I have never wrote a bad review but unfortunately we were all so disappointed and felt the need. We were all looking forward to a night out and usually Lawlors is such a lovely place to eat and enjoy a drink. I will not be returning here in the near future.

We stayed in Lawlors Hotel Naas on 5th January 2020. The hotel was very busy but the staff were excellent. It was a pleasure to deal with staff that make you feel welcome from the reception right through. We would certainly recommend Lawlors to anyone looking for accommodation in the County Kildare area.

The room we booked was promoted as a Classic room promising to deliver “comfort and a restful night's sleep after a long day…” and providing “everything you need for a relaxing stay.” Internally the room was shabby, stale and somewhat unkempt. We weren’t convinced that COVID procedures underpinned the sparse, careless and shoddy room presentation. Worn out curtains inadequately covered the windows resulting in a streetlight-filled room throughout the night.
The room was excessively noisy. Paper thin adjoining walls meant we could hear both sides of our neighbour’s telephone conversation. Snoring from our neighbour’s room prevented our sleep throughout the night. Noise outside of the room made us feel quite unsafe. Overall any semblance of a “restful night’s sleep” was impossible; rather it resulted in significant sleep deprivation.
The website completely misrepresents the rooms available. I went to the trouble of calling the hotel to verify the room description before booking and was assured that the Classic was comfortable. Recognising that comfort is a relative description, I do however, expect that accurate and authentic descriptions always prevail. The hotel does nothing to uphold the standards of accommodation; frankly it is a disgrace to offer such abysmal accommodation and an insult to the many genuinely good hotels available. We expected more. Overall a dreadful, dreadful experience.

Hi Nina We are so disappointed that you had such a bad experience, as you can see from our other reviews that is not our standard, we pride ourselves on looking after our guests. We have a new extension opening soon with new rooms Air Conditioning and an upgrade of the whole customer journey. It has been a tough year and we are working on our existing bedrooms to improve our overall standard, but we are not where we want to be in all areas yet for lots of reasons. Can you send me your details to sales@lawlors.ie, your experience does not reflect the experience we try to offer guests and it would be great to have the opportunity to rectify this. On my first visit to the country, I stayed at the Lawlors for a few days, a great location in the town have to say. the reception was one of the friendliest I've seen in Europe and they were kind to allow me an early check in even without a notice.
Very smooth check in indeed.
the rooms were decent sized but I have to say that the decor or the furniture was really old, the old carpets had an unpleasant smell to it and the TV had like 10 limited channels.
The hotel as such is good, no gym for your information, but considering the cost its okay for the money you pay.

Hi, go through Sallins village and follow that Sallins Road straight (you go straight at the roundabout), all the way into Naas town. When you reach the Traffic lights in the town centre turn left and Lawlor's of Naas is on your right after Poplar Square. Turn right after the square and just past the hotel entrance take the first left (small lane at the side of the hotel) and press the buzzer at the gate the team will let you in to park. Look forward to welcoming you
