We stayed here for a weekend and was pleasantly surprised after reading negative reviews. We stayed in a deluxe room and was very spacious and a nice sized well presented bathroom with heated floors. The bedroom itself ýy but could be an amazing hotel by updating the rooms and beds.

I stayed here with my husband and 2 children. We arrived at hotel at 5:30pm. It didnt look like what i expected it to be from the outside, its supposed to be a 4 star hotel i thought (?) - this could not be true. It seemed like there was some sort of a function going on there and a few people were dressed up in the lobby and i could hear and see them on the balcony when walking in. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist, the lobby was very nice. The bedroom was clean and everything seemed ok, the shower was great, and the room was lovely and warm because the heating was on. Later we went down to the bar to have a few drinks and my kids wanted a bite to eat. We were directed to the "beech bar"....i thought to myself that this could not be the hotel bar? It was like the bar on Fawlty Towers except no windows at all - we called it "The Dungeon". No background music or anything - so quiet, old and very dated and dingy. We stayed here for a good few hours (as with 2 kids we couldnt go too far), the man that worked behind the bar was very friendly and chatty, really nice. The kids ate food from the kids menu and it was ok.
The following morning we went down to have our breakfast, surprise surprise - we were back in "the Dungeon" (beech bar) for breakfast - it was so uncomfortable with the low puffy old chairs and pub tables to dine on - i was not impressed at all with this. This room has to be the most depressing room i have ever seen. I thought at least there would be a proper dining room to eat in, but no. There was continental breakfast laid out on a table, however the bread/juices/glasses etc were slow at being kept topped up when empty. You had to order your hot breakfast. My husband and i ordered 2 full Irish breakfasts and the kids ordered sausages and rashers. We were waiting 35 to 40 minutes before our breakfast came out. I wondered did they go into Dublin to cook it. Saying that, the breakfast was nice. My husband asked could he have a portion of beans, they landed out with an egg cup size container with about 10 beans in it, all scummy looking from being heated, i burst out laughing when the waitress put them on the table - id swear they were taken from a leftover plate that was across from us as i had seen leftover beans on their plate at another table. Anyway that was our experience. I would not stay here again. Saying that the staff were extremely nice, friendly, and helpful, our room was nice - but the "beech bar" and dining for breakfast in the morning again in the "beech bar" completely put me off, it depressed me - a very poor set up of a bar/dining room. This bar needs to be renovated and updated asap and a proper dining area put in place! How its a 4 star hotel is beyond me.

The hotel is so pretty from the outside. I haven't stayed there but we had lunch there recently on a Saturday in their Beach Bar which is in the basement. Don't be fooled by the exterior. The interior is a weird mix of nasty, tacky, bright and classy. The main entrance is made of horrible old automatic doors but they lead into a nice, bright lobby with friendly staff.
The Beach Bar has no natural light at all. It very much feels like a basement. The decor dark and depressing. The most annoying thing is that they have low, comfortable sofas and armchairs with round bar tables that are far too high. When seated, the tables are at chest hight (and I'm not short). The seats give no support so you have to sit on the edge of them to reach the table or sit back and not reach your food. This is the worst seating I'v ever experienced. The waiter was very nice and friendly but I personally don't like to be called "my love" by people who don't know me.
One of us ordered boiled ham and said it was good though the portion was small. Two ordered the tuna melt wrap which were lukewarm and had a white watery liquid pouring out of them. Not good. Two of us had the cod goujons and and chips. They looked great but the fish was grey and kind of soggy with no flavour at all. The breadcrumbs were tough and they were chewy. The chips were greasy and soggy. This was really bad food.
Desert was a bit better. Sticky toffee pudding was good but the toffee sauce was burned. I had a meringue nest with cream and berries which was poor. The apple crumble was good. Coffees were good. I will never eat there again. This is a pity because their food used to be tasty and fresh (though tiny portions). Now it feels like there is no love in the place

My partner and I decided to have something to eat here before going to the cinema next door for handiness sake as naas town on a Saturday evening can be very busy the movie we went to see was at 8:50 so by arriving at 7:20 we assumed we would have plenty of time, upon arrival my first impression was that it was a bit dreary and there were only two other tables occupied on a Saturday evening, the waiter a tall middle aged gentleman was very welcoming pleasant and professional, they had a movie meal deal menu which we decided to order from I ordered the burger which I asked for no cheese or sauce and if it would be possible to have some onions on it instead ( I foolishly didn't think it would be any trouble) the waiter noted it down and called it back to me I seen him write it down otherwise I would've assumed it was down to it being forgotten, however when it came it had no onions and the *burger sauce* was oozing out all over the plate, the waiter was very apologetic took it back to the kitchen my partner had his long finished by the time mine came back which defeats the purpose really of going to a restaurant together, instead of making a fresh one the "chef" decided it would be more economical to fry both the burger and chips again when the waiter came over to check if everything was ok I informed him it was not very nice and there were still no onions he was again very apologetic and went to speak to the chef who refused to put onions on the burger as they are not listed On The menu as being on the burger had I been informed that they refuse to give onions I would not have ordered the burger as I wouldn't have had one without them, the clearly embarrassed waiter again went back to the chef who still refused to give onions, seriously though is it that difficult to slice an onion?? The desert was nice but the main was absolutely disgusting,
Management should have a word with the chef who clearly has an attitude problem sadly in this establishment which has a great location and could do a booming trade the attitude from the chef is take it or leave it, maybe if Maudlins shopped local they could find onions for less than €1 per bag and would no longer need to ration them we visited on the 13th of June

We stayed here for 1 night. This is a very average hotel and is no way deserving of being a 4 star hotel!. Very overpriced, food was average, service was average and i would not stay here again. The hotel quiet shabby and is in need of a revamp!.

Me and my partner are well travelled have stay and ate in many many places but never had such a bad experience as at this place. From the moment we arrived, the room was ok, bathroom was disgusting with mold and dirt. But we were only here for the night so we didnt mind. Dinner was booked for the evening in the 'award winning resturant' and after a long day of shopping and driving we were both very hungry and very excited to get dressed up and go for a nice dinner to celebrate his birthday. We had an hour or two to kill and with my partner being a arsnel fan we went to the bar to watch it. This place was filthy, and the whole atmoshpere was uncomfortable. Just as i finished the sentance 'thank god we are going to the resturant for dinner' . A member of staff comes over to inform us that in fact there was a change of plan and we have to have our 3 course dinner in this bar before eather of us could speak she walked off leaving us speachless. Right away we went to reception to try get a better understanding of what was happening. A different member of staff informed us that 2 staff members called in sick so the resturant had to be closed so basically there was nothing they could do. Dinner and breakfast were both purchased before we arrived but there was no way we were eating in that dump. We took our money and went to a wonderful resturant just outside of naas had a proper meal and drinks serviced by nice TRAINED staff with MANNERS, we had also paid for a late check out but the next morning we got up much earlyer than planned went without breakfast and left. We couldnt have gotten out quick enough. Cant believe a place like this exists!.

We stayed at this hotel on a family break away with two other couples. I was told when booking that the cottages accross the road were available and assured they were "of the same standard" as the hotel. This was a HUGE mistake. The cottage was freezing - the radiators didn't work & knobs were broken so obvioously hadn't worked in quite some time. We brought this to the attention of Barry @reception before we went out in Naas and he assured us that he was going to sort it out with portable heaters & that it would be "like a sauna" when we came back.

Unfortunately when we returned at 2am the room was even colder than when we left jt as there was a blow heater now blowing cold air around the room also. The sheets were damp when we got in & there were no extra blankets - there wasn't even a duvet on the bed! We didn't sleep all night & ended up sick the following week from our stay.

We did bring this to Barry's attention when checking out - he advised us that we "should have contacted them earlier about this"- we did!! The previous evening when he told us it would be sorted. We didn't know who to contact @3am that could rectify the problem& had been told the hotel ws booked out (when we booked the cottages!!). We asked for this to be reflected in our bill (€99 same as hotel stay!!) but were told it was too late as invoice had already been printed & system could not be edited - i find this hard to believe. He told us he "could do something for us again" and told the other party with us (who checked out later) that he would send on a voucher to compensate us.we have not heard from Barry or the hotel. We have family in Naas and will bever stay here again - not only that but will actively encourage others not to use this hotel either.Do yourself a favour & stay elsewhere

We were accommodated in the so called chalets or lodges, which are the small houses directly opposite the reception. Our room was dirty, cold and dingy. We made several calls to the reception but they were not in the least interested, they did not offer to come and see the room for themselves or provide extra heating or blankets. We stayed as part of a DealRush voucher so we ate our average dinner at the hotel (restaurant staff friendly and did their jobs well) and then we rushed back home. Luckily we live in Dublin so it was easy for us to get home. I was never so glad to see my own bed. Other friends have stayed in the main part of the hotel and seemed to fare better. Risk it if you wish...

Nothing special stayed here just for one night very pricey and staff were a bit rude rooms very small and very cold, no heating working, would of got a better night sleep if I slept on the floor the beds were 2 single beds 2 make a double and one of the matrasses was all 2 one side and the other was like a brick and the quilt was very poor. Breakfast was horrible and even tho it was included in the price it was very pricey. Could get a lot better for a lot cheaper. I wouldn't advise people to stay here unless they necessarily had to! It got very noisy as well during the night with people just loitering outside the room door.

Would never again go near this hotel. I paid € 49.00 - to share a twin bedroom for b&b - with a plug in heater in the corner! Absolutely disgracefull way to treat people- apparently this is an ongoing problem- pity no one warned us in advance. No manager on Sunday morning to deal with complaints?? Joke of a place

No, the important things like the service, the food etc were all very good. The comments about the general upkeep and maintenance of the hotel just reflected my own personal observations and not meant as a criticism. My wife and I both enjoyed our stay in the hotel.
