Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very dated old fashioned hotel however is very homely. The nite porter was a lovely young guy. The reception area is dark and dull, the lady there took our card details and we were given no information on the hotel or breakfast times etc. Breakfast was nice and lady that served us was lovely.

Can't help but laugh at the TripAdvisor reviews! Thought it was just us but now realise it's not!
Dear Mrs Monaghan should retire to her nursing home!
She Begrudgingly snipped off a scrap of paper with the WiFi password on it when we asked
Noisy rooms & fights outside on the street at chuckout time (probably not from this pub) and the fire station next door sirens all night
Only saving grace was the fabulous traditional pub around the corner with the fantastic upstairs restuarant can't remember it's name but just around the corner

Receptionist/owner could be a bit more friendly.A comment was made by her how she hoped the room was non smoking. However, that was not to be.The bathroom drank of stake cigarette smoke, which lingered out into the room. Yes, the hotel is dated but found the bed very comfy. On arrival we were told breakfast wad served from 7.30-9.30/10, however on asking the night porter he asked us if we were told 9am. He said its available til 10.30. It was late when we landed back at the hotel and hotel car park was locked so we parked in front of hotel. He was very good, kind and friendly and offered to open the gate. We declined. Breakfast...very disappointing, normally there's a side station of cereal, juice, yoghurts, however everything had to be asked for. We ordered the fry, which was very basic. Unfortunately it wasn't a great experience and didn't get an apology on having a stale smell in the room

We have waitress service in our dining room and display on our breakfast menu that we have Juice, Cereals and yoghurts etc. available for you to order. So old fashioned. Definitely needs some painting, decorating, cleaning would not recommend this hotel to any person. Night porter was very nice and helpfull but was not anyway impressed by the hotel.

“Modern” restaurants could learn a thing or two from Monaghans , it’s a step back in time with good quality home cooked meals! Sure, the decor is dated but the food is excellent quality & flavour. It’s largely an older clientele who dine here , but that’s because they know quality when they taste it! Staff are so friendly and helpful, especially towards older people. We will definitely return , thank you ❤️

My wife and I stayed one night in the Harbour Hotel in Naas while attending a birthday party in another premises in the town. We had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Monaghan herself when checking in. It's a lovely small hotel ideally situated. The breakfast was cooked to order which we loved. Parking was right beside the hotel. All in all we found the experience very enjoyable and stress free.

Well what can I say. Enter at your own risk. The worst hotel if you can call it that, that I’ve ever had the misfortune of entering. Faulty towers Ireland edition. Dirty, dark, cluttered and miserable staff.

ok here i go i visited this hotel, first off the beds were dressed with 1945 blankets hard straw like blankets. every were was dusty and the rust and mound in the bathroom could be dangerous to ones health, the emergence exit was a danger with old furniture, and ladders, paints they also advertise a total different room . I think THE RECEIPT SHE ISSUES ON PAYMENT SHOULD NOT STATE WHAT MY RELIGION IS , her manner to customers is bad she cant lift her head to greet people or talk if i had to pay on departure like every other hotel i would have refused

Where to start. outside the hotel lettering was missing off the name . Reception area was like something from a Hitchcock movie. Dull ,smelly with faded flowers and random clutter with no proper seating. Worn carpets, beer kegs thrown under the stairs. Cot and mattress thrown outside the bedroom door. Room was okay but very out dated. Random coloured towels left in the bathroom. The hair dryer sounded like a jumbo jet ready to take off. Night porter was very nice though but the only thing nice I can say about the stay. At breakfast asked the old lady who I presume was the owner on reception if breakfast was still being served and she looked at me like a piece of filth. I don't understand why any guests would be treated like that The cutlery and plates were outdated even in the 70s. The food was okay nothing great. No orange juice or fruit offered had to ask. On check out nobody could be found at the reception area . out of nowhere a maid came and snapped the key out of my hand and walked off. I've travelled all over the world and backpacked and easily this is the worst hotel experience ive ever had. I would like to say though the old lady should not be allowed anywhere near people she has no manners what so ever and clearly does not want to be dealing with people. im not sure why she has the business to begin with. while the stay was relatively cheap at 80 euro at the same time somebody expects to be treated with respect.
