I was here for 5 nights and had a fantastic stay. It's a superb, big house with very peaceful and relaxing surroundings in a great location. The bedroom was very comfortable and had a lovely ensuite. Kitchen and dining area is super with everything that you need. The owner Libby is so friendly and welcoming and makes you feel at home straight away. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.
From start to finish the service was incredible. Libby is an amazing human with such a big heart. The bedrooms are perfect, the dogs on entry are a bonus! The grounds are beautiful and the decor/artwork is sensational. Libby prepared delicious fig cinnamon rolls for my breakfast. 10/10 I definitely recommend.
From the minute i looked at the website,i knew i wanted to stay here and boy,it did not disappoint! Libby could not have done any more to help make me, and my service dog, any more comfortable. We were travelling for one night from cork for a event and i was finding it very difficult to find a place that would accept my dog. Even though Springfield was booked out for that night,Libby offered us the Sitting room, with a pull up bed. I honestly would have slept anywhere at that stage!! We arrived on the day,up the beautiful drive, with amazing gardens and paddocks on either side. The house was even more stunning than the photos, inside and out. And our room was magnificent. The bed did not look out of place at all in it and it was one of the most comfortable beds i have slept on while away. There was tea and coffee down the hall when we arrived with beautiful, homemade biscuits that really hit the spot. Libby's own dogs were lovely and so well behaved. The 2 great danes love to greet you when you arrive! I had breakfast with the other guests the next morning in the formal dining room and again it was perfect, with lots of it and the most beautiful pancakes. I will definitely be back to try out the actual rooms!!…
A step back in time into this wonderful mansion. Clean, very comfortable beds and a lavish breakfast. Libby, the owner, is a generous hostess who went out of her way to make our stay superb in every way.
Superb service....Libby is a gem. Amazing welcome and home made treats on arrival. Such a picturesque location and beautiful accommodation combined with a truly special destination. The breakfast was delicious and varied and the facilities were excellent. Very high quality, you must have a walk around the grounds and look at the animals.....the stunning (and incredibly friendly) Great Danes may join you. Wonderful stay
From start to finish our experience in this B&B was unpleasant. Upon booking we were required to pay 100% up front and any cancellation would result in a 50% loss of money - the strictest cancellation policy I have ever come across in any hotel, hostel or B&B in Ireland. That was no problem as we had a wedding to attend. About 10 days before our wedding Libby got in touch to explain that there was a problem with our room, that it would not be ready for us to stay in and she would give us a full refund and that we could sleep in a 'sitting room' that is sometimes used as an emergency bedroom. At this stage we had little chance of securing alternative accommodation so we agreed. Three days later Libby was back on. She had moved rooms around and suddenly we had a room and no refund would be needed. All seemed to be in order and she kindly agreed to give us a 'bottle of bubbles' for all the inconvenience. We arrived to Springfield at 4pm and were shown to our room by a very nice man. However he insisted on taking our breakfast order there and then for the next day. Not ideal after a long drive in the heat to be deciding how many sausages you would like to have in 18 hours. Anyway we got that sorted and took a look around the room - it was horrific. All of the extra duvets, quilts and sheets were being stored in it. Essentially we were paying €120 to sleep in a hot press. This, combined with the fact all of the wardrobes were full of clothes meaning we couldn't hang anything up made us feel like we had been conned. Libby did kindly provide us with tea and cake and dropped us to our wedding but took this opportunity to explain to us that we had taken someone elses room which made us feel about as welcome as dry rot. To crown it all off we got back at 2am to discover that our front door key did not work. Thankfully someone let us in but being able to get into a B & B is a basic requirement. Even Basil Fawlty never had that problem. Breakfast was very average. I strongly suspect that the butter was rancid but at that stage we just wanted to leave. Libby's constant chatter about the joys of pecans as an anti-inflammatory was unwelcome. She would be better off concentrating on getting the doors sorted. To cap it all off we never did get that bottle of bubbles. Just another problem in a litany of problems. I cannot imagine there isn't somewhere better to stay in Celbridge. It was genuinely one of the worst experiences I have ever had.…
Staying here while attending a wedding nearby. Absolutely wonderful stay in a beautiful b&b. Very helpful, including dropping me off at the wedding venue. Breakfast was a delight in the dining room, and the Great Danes were a nice bonus too!
Thank you Libby and Adrian for our wonderful stay at your home. We felt very relaxed during our visit as we played for the wedding at Celbridge Manor Hotel - a very convenient location for the hotel and so quiet and restful. Wonderful rooms and the breakfast - we loved your cinemon buns on the journey home. We will be back Mike for Woodsiders Ceilidh & Barn Dance Band (Southampton UK)
This b&b is fantastic. I brought my girlfriend from Canada home to Ireland for Christmas and this was by far the best accomadions we had on our trip. The house is amazing, there is a very relaxing atmosphere and we both felt like royalty. The owner Libby was a fantastic host we felt very welcomed when when arrived. The rooms are decorated to match the time the house was built and they are very clean. The breakfast and home baked treats were delicious. With everything said I will return here again when I get married this fall and will most likely book rooms for my fiancée's family too, so they can experience such an amazing place.
Had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful house , just a stone trow from Dublin city in a beautiful part of the Country , The House is beautifully decorated in the period that it originates from but with all modren standards , an ideal place to stay while on holiday or just a quite night away. Host Libby can never do too much for you , You will enjoy!
