We booked to stay in the 2 bedroom cottage on the farm. I went with my boyfriend and his Nan and grandad as they wanted to go and see family, old friends and go back to where they originally come from/grew up.
We arrived early and didn’t expect to be able to check in since check in was at 3. We only drove there to see where it was that we were staying but we were greeted straight away and made to feel extremely welcome from start to finish.
Mary came to welcome us with freshly baked scones. She showed us round the cottage and explained everything to us, also answering any questions we had and seemed genuinely interested in the reasons for our visit.

The cottage itself was lovely and felt like a home away from homes. We felt very safe during our stay.
The views were amazing, the best being the cows walking the field on the Saturday morning. You can literally see/hear them from the cottage and it added to the experience.

None of us wanted to leave to come home. Would highly recommend staying either in the cottage or even the b & b itself (as I can well imagine it to be just as brilliant of an experience as the cottage).

Thankyou so much for sharing your cottage with us Mary & Vincent. We had a lovely few days and where we stayed had a lot to do with that. We can’t wait to come back.

When we reached it was late in the evening and Mary was out. Her son was so welcoming and went out of the way and gave us tea, juice and scones. We had a lovely time there and the breakfast was fab. Great hospitality. We left and did not realise that we had left an item of clothing behind until it arrived in the post. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

First of all, I'm about to spend my night here, but I already feel compelled to say what a delight it has been so far. I'm overnighting as I've been in Kildare for work; and I'm travelling back to London later today. It took the cab driver a little while to find it, but we called Mary for directions and the solutions came straight away!

Greeted by a lovely smile, offer of tea or coffee, shown to my room and a bed I knew I was going to fall into and rest/sleep soundly. Not only was tea ready folks, scones with butter and jam were present too. I've been lucky enough to stay in some swanky hotels, but this personal touch is second to none.

My room has all I need; well stocked bathroom, tea making facilities, loads of biscuits, comfy bed. I'm looking forward to taking photos of the place in daylight in the morning.

The only drawback for me, not for them, is that I'm coming here for work only at the moment and, because it's quite far from my workplace, next time I will have to make do with somewhere closer to work. But I will definitely recommend this place, 100% 😘

We have just had a weeks stay at Beech Lodge self catering - I am a permanent wheelchair user and everything was great for me , I easily coped independently which speaks volumes for the cottage. Apart from that the cottage was spotlessly clean and Mary made us feel very welcome particularly with her super scones and jam - we would recommend the cottage to anyone wishing to stay in that area - even the weather was good. Thanks again Mary.

I was advised by a friend to not plan on traveling a great distance on my first day in Ireland. Ballindrum farm is within an hours drive of Dublin Airport. The countryside is just what I imagined Ireland would be, green , beautiful. Mary was friendly, and welcoming when we arrived very early. Our room was clean so we were allowed to check in early. We stayed in a family room. Very clean. The B&B Is an actual dairy farm. The breakfast was wonderful. Really, why would I stay in an hotel , when I could stay in someones home.

We stayed at Beech Lodge from 2nd - 9th June - this is our 3rd visit in less than 12 months and gives us a total of 6 weeks holidays in the Lodge. We use the lodge because it is convenient for our needs, rather than a one off holiday destination. It is always beautifully clean, tidy and welcoming. Mary and Vincent have always gone out of their way to provide the small extras (like a Christmas tree - @ Christmas) and have always been accommodating when an earlier check-in etc is needed. Ballindrum is a very picturesque and convenient location - only a 5 min drive from town (Athy) and 60 mins from Dublin and only about 90 mins to the coast. It is an ideal base for touring the east and south east of Ireland. Our boys love it - calling it their' country home'!

We booked to stay here after reading the reviews and were not disappointed. Mary is very welcoming and had tea and scones on the table before we'd unpacked. As it was quiet she even offered us use of an extra bedroom free of charge as we were a party of 3, we had booked the triple room but this gave us more space. Everything was very clean, the bathroom was fine and spacious. Breakfast is cooked to order and very good, homemade jams, fresh fruit as well. We wanted to escape from Dublin for a night and the farmhouse is well located for a visit to Kildare and the Irish National Stud which I also highly recommend. If you are looking to stay in the countryside near Dublin then this is the place to be.

There are not enough words to express the way I feel about this true lil gem of a Bnb, Mary and her family/team are the warmest of people, nothing was too much for them, and you knew it came from the heart, if you’ve never been to Ireland, then this is the place to start your Irish journey, I will certainly be returning. My family and I were on a search of our history, and Mary and the team went out of their way to help us out, I don’t think I’ll ever experience this type of kindness and hospitality anywhere else, so Mary from the bottom of my heart I send you love and thanks for just being the person you are, Hi to Caroline and Vincent for me xxxx
