Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Coursetown is the best B&B I've ever experienced and have stayed at over a hundred B&Bs. Everything was excellent. Iris and Jim are lovely, helpful, friendly and splendid. Breakfast with fresh baked bread, huge fruit selection and extras are perfect: better than you'd find in a 5 star hotel. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable. The Fox's hospitality is delightful. They are special people. I enjoyed staying with them very much and wish I were there now. Doug Rownsley

I've stayed at dozens of B&Bs in many countries and vote Coursetown the best and my favourite. Iris and Jim Fox are special people, everything is first rate and the comfort level top class. Breakfast is superb with fresh fruit and home made bread, better than breakfast smorgasboards at 5 star resorts. Iris and Jim are lovely, kind, good people who gave me a great welcome. Bedrooms are very comfortable. I didn't want to leave and wish that I were there now. Doug Rawnsley

Revisited Iris and Jim (our last visit was eight years ago) and it was exactly as we had remembered - very unusual in my opinion as most places do not normally keep their standards up. The farm and gardens are immaculate, the bedrooms sumptuous with exceptionally clean and comfortable high quality linen. This level of comfort and cleanliness would be unusual in a 5 star hotel and is therefore amazing to find in a bed and breakfast , albeit a Silver Award status one. The breakfast was freshly cooked using local ingredients, complete with beautiful freshly baked irish bread (Iris gave me the recipe), freshly squeezed orange juice, raspberries and strawberries with cream, assorted fruit salads and cereals, delicious cooked fresh bacon and eggs with all the trimmings, and as much tea or coffee as you can drink. Thank you Jim and Iris for a wonderful stay. We will see you again soon I hope.

This is the ultimate in B&B luxury which knocks spots off so called 5* hotels for its high standards! The welcome you receive from Iris and Jim Fox is beyond compare. Every conceivable thing you might need is catered for before you even have to think to ask for it! The most sumptuous breakfast with well sourced local foodstuffs and homemade bread, soda bread, preserves and wonderful rhubarb and strawberry compote, all made fresh daily. Iris is able to cater for disabled guests with a superbly fitted out ground floor room with walk in shower big enough for wheelchair users. All the bed linen is changed regularly and is of the finest quality, with a choice of duvets or top quality sheets and blankets. The heating is on individual programmes to each room& Iris is keen for you to have your room at the temperature that suits you. The water is beautifully soft. All rooms are thoroughly cleaned every single day. We felt that we received superior, individually tailored service. Jim is a mine of local knowledge and was most helpful in our ancestry search. If you want to stay in Kildare then the Coursetown Country House is a must for anyone. We would not even think to look elsewhere. Perfection is so rare these days, but iris & Jim Fox make a conscientious effort to maintain it and provide a thoughtful and convivial atmosphere.
