We booked a stay here for 2 nights over the Bank Holiday weekend. We had requested an early check in and received an email to say that this would be accommodated. When we arrived there was no doors open for us to gain entry so we phoned to say we were outside & couldn't get in, the response we got was 'why do you want to get in?'. When we were let inside there was 2 men in the bar drinking alcohol at 11.30am which on a Sunday in Ireland is illegal as alcohol shouldn't be sold before 12.30pm... Our room wasn't ready which was fine, we just head off for the day. The owner asked if we wanted to book a table for dinner and said it got very busy so we booked for 8pm. We returned at 7.30pm to check in and were shown to our room. The room was spotless and had been recently…
Really enjoyed our stay for 2 nights. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was great and lots of it pints were super and the young barmaid was very pleasant and helpful.. The very nice lady that made us breakfast also made us lunch to bring up Corran Tuathail. There not much around the immediate area but a little drive kilorgin not to far away. 3 very happy customers thank u
Myself and a friend stayed here as recomended when we were booking a guided hike to Carrauntoohil with Kerryclimbing and it was absolutely perfect! Very friendly hosts, the place is in an amazing location !!!! Accomodation is spotless and has all been refurbished and we had a super tasty meal the evening of our climb. An on site bar for a celebratory drink for getting to the top of the highest mountain too...what an experience and what more could you want. We can't wait to go back to the Climbers Inn for another few days of scenic hiking in the heart of Kerry.
Sadly having to attend a family funeral here in Glencar at short notice, we were fortunate enough that the Climbers Inn had accommodation for us to stay in. My wife and I found the room to be first class, the bed, the shower and the attire of the room was excellent, and therefore enabling us to have a great nights sleep. The full Irish breakfast gave you a good start to the day with plenty of choices to be made. Full credit to the new proprietors who have recently taken over and the staff for a wonderful reception. We would highly recommend anyone looking at these reviews to visit this wonderful establishment. Mick and Julie Foley - Yorkshire, UK
