My husband and I and our two children, ages 5 & 6 stayed in Ventry House B & B over the August weekend 2017. Joan the Bean An Ti, is a wonderful woman and runs a beautiful guest house, spotlessly clean, with true home Irish cooking, including freshly baked hot scones for breakfast. Joan accommodated my husband and I and our children in every way possible, and my two children really took to her! We had lovely chats over breakfast and I have to say, it was a more enriching experience than staying in a faceless hotel! The Guest House is situated directly across from a most beautiful beach, where the children and my husband and I had beautiful long walks and paddles, there is also a renowned bar directly across from Joan's Guest House, which serves good pub grub and has entertainment nightly. We took a fantastic day trip to the Blaskets heading off from Dunquin Pier, where we got a guided tour of the Island from a very knowledgeable employee of the OPW, and also had a picnic on the unspoilt beach, where are children paddled with an audience of seals for playmates!! We visited the aquarium in Dingle which the children loved, and took a trip to the Skellig Hotel where we had a lovely dinner and the children played in the children's club. Our last day was spent picnicking on the spectacular beach at the end of the Slea Head Drive, which is just a sight to behold. I will return to Joan's house and stay again, and I would thoroughly recommend her house to the readers.…
Four of us, from Connemara, Chicago, Leitrim and Dublin stayed with Joan 2 weeks ago. It's very difficult to find words for her lovely manner and fabulous attitude. Unfortunately, we could only stay one night but we will be back (for a longer stay). If you are going to Dingle/Ventry, forget the Hotels... stay with Joan who will make the long drive to west Kerry worth every minute of it. Her home is spotless, her food fantastic and it's just like being at home. Go rabh míle maith agat Joan.
Joan, the b&b owner, is a true treasure. She was so warm and maternal in her welcome. I visited with my two young sons and she couldn't have been more accommodating, understand their every need. We will return this summer after 4 years to use as a base to explore the slea head and dingle; stunning location and stunning lady.
One of the best B&Bs we've statyed at. A beautiful well kept home and garden, all maintained by the hostess, Joan. A lovely woman and very chatty. The breakfast is fantastic, fresh home baked scones, bread, jam. Stayed here with children and they did not want to leave. Great value, will definitely be back.
