Beautiful house rooms beautiful very clean . However we were disappointed with the breakfast , not a lot on the plate . Close to roundstone and Clifton lovely scenery . Kathleen is a nice lady also her daughter .. there is nice scenery in the area roundstone only has one small grocery shop though . Area is peaceful enough quite rural countryside which is very nice if your looking for a quiet serene stay .

The rooms overlooked the picturesque sea... The breakfast included great coffee and world class home made preserves.... But all was eclipsed by the hosts Catherine and John who provided the best in professional and personally pleasant concern in helping their guests. If there is a heaven, I hope they are in charge

Catherine was a very pleasant and helpful hostess. The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. Breakfast was great. We would stay again. Roundstone village is about 1 Klm away. Dining out in Roundstone has limited choices as it is only a small village so go out early to find your eatery. We found the top pub to be value for money. The beer was cold and the food was good. Roundstone is well situated to explore Connemara.

I'm not a complainer by any means. I've been to five B & B's this week and I feel obligated to tell what I experienced. We pulled into a nice looking house with a very nice view. We enter, and the hostess is distant and only focused on payment, which is understandable, but she didn't ask how we were, if we got in all right, or anything polite before jumping into payment, after which we were let go to unpack. She later asked us about food, and by then she began to be a bit more polite, telling us about the upstairs viewing room. We asked recommendations, she told us to go to Ennis. However, if we had wanted to go to Ennis we would have booked a B and B there, instead. We went into Roundstone, which did have a neat variety of foods, although our hostess told us there were only three. The room was sufficient, as it had all of the basics, but nothing more. It was also a bit cramped for two people, considering it was a double room. Didn't see any horseriding or golf nearby. Just quite sad at the wholeheartedly misleading advertising.

Thank you for staying at Ivy Rock House. I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay and I would like to address a couple of points you raised. It is not my policy to request payment from guests upfront but some guests do like to give me their voucher for payment upon arrival and if that is the case I oblige by taking it. We have a wonderful selection of restaurants and pubs in the village of Roundstone of which I always recommend to guests to visit. Ennis is a considerable journey (over a 2 hour drive) so I would not recommend that someone would travel so far especially when there are such good places to eat so close by. Again I am sorry to hear you were disappointed but I do feel there may have been some confusion in relation to some of your points raised and it is a pity that I could not have addressed them directly with you at the time. I do try to make my guests feel very welcome and appreciate when they choose to stay at Ivy Rock House.

We spent three great nights here and enjoyed three great breakfasts. We felt very welcome and Catherine, the landlady, was helpful with tips of where to visit. She was so kind to post on clothes we forgot and left in the wardrobe! The room with en suite was very clean and comfortable and the views were fantastic. Just a short drive from Roundstone, it's an ideal location to explore Connemara.

This by far was the best bed and breakfast i have had the priveledge to stay in. The views were fantastic, the area outstanding and the facilities were excellent. Very spacious bedrooms and bathrooms with a large communal living room looking out at a fantastic view. Tea, coffee and endless supplies of chocolate biscuits were always available. The host Catherine was so friendly and kind and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were delicious and filling, lots of home made condiments and breads, plenty of selection and the biggest fresh coffee pot i have ever seen. This bed and breakfast made my holiday!

We had stayed here 6 years ago and to choose it again for our 2013 trip was a 'no brainer'. This time we stayed for 5 nights. The house and grounds were in as new condition. The room and bath were clean and well furnished. The common room upstairs has a breathtaking view over the water to Innishnee Island. The breakfast room has the same view. The breakfast was a complete Irish breakfast or custom order. The owner, Mrs. Burke, was always accommodating and asking if there was anything we needed in addition to what she already provided. This B & B is what all other B & B's should be judged by.

We recently stayed in Ivy Rock House for a weekend. It was located close to the Village, with great beaches only a few minutes drive .
The guest house is located on a large site with nice gardens and a great view of the sea.
We had a lovely large family room, with a spacious ensuite, again overlooking the sea. Our hostess was lovely and very helpful. We had a lovely breakfast, along with some great home made scones and home made jam! The dining room also has views of the sea.
There is a private sitting room for guests to enjoy with fabulous views, well stocked with coffee, tea and treats.
Would definitely go back again and would recommend it to anyone.

This B&B has a great view from the front rooms. The breakfast room is charming and the food is good. A tea station is set up 24/7 with snacks in case you want something outside the breakfast hours. The rooms were clean and well decorated, the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was tiny, but I found that was typical for an Irish B&B. There is a nice patio area set up next to the parking area where you can enjoy the water view. I was there in May, and the flowers were in bloom. It was beautiful.
