We arranged a stay at Coast Guard B & B after spending an afternoon in Roundstone, spotting Coast Guard B & B on a quiet street a couple blocks from the center of town and talking to the owner Trish O"Donnell. We stayed there 4 nights. I would describe Coast Guard B & B as comfortable, homey, welcoming, spacious, quiet, lovely views, reasonably priced... just what we look for in a B & B. The location is 1 lot back from a quiet road, yet only 2 blocks from the town's very active main street. There is ample parking at Coast Guard B & B (a scarce commodity in Roundstone). The B & B is not on the water but has a nice water view from all three bedrooms on the 2nd floor. The bedroom we had was a corner room, windows on 2 sides, nice water view. Bedrooms are spacious and en suite. Bathrooms are large and well lit with skylights and the showers have good water volume. Our beds were comfortable. The breakfast room was pleasant and the food ample and well prepared. Trish and family were very welcoming and helpful with information about Roundstone and the region -- helped us take care of a flat tire and find lovely trails to the beach that only locals know about. Thank you, Trish and family.

The bedrooms we stayed were good and spacious, very important with small children.
We were made feel welcome and really enjoyed getting a good rest and tasty breakfast after our time exploring Connemara.
Patricia was a great host to our family of 6.

Stayed in Coast Guard B&B for one night. Very comfortable spacious room and spotlessly clean. Trish and Tom are very welcoming. Stayed in October - room was lovely, cosy and warm. Offered good choice for breakfast. I would highly recommend this B&B.

Where to start. Dated, shabby accommodation - to be honest, to me it felt dirty. Nosey owners. You couldn’t stir outside the room or appear in the vicinity without one or both launching an interrogation. Stone cold shower, which apparently was the fault of an electrician who had turned the hot water switch off. (If you have an electrician in and also paying guests you need to check all is as it should be when the electrician leaves!!) We requested a travel cot for our one year old and what we were provided with was truly disgraceful - a stained and torn item which wasn’t safe for a baby to be in for a few minutes, never mind all night. We asked if breakfast could be earlier than 830 as our children are early risers (6am) but there was no budging. We didn’t fancy hanging out in a grotty room for 2.5 hours so said we’d check out early without breakfast and to be fair negotiated a reasonable discount in exchange. But that this accommodation should be paid for at all is a disgrace. I’ll be back in Roundstone, it’s beautiful. But I’ll book earlier and stay somewhere else.
