Detailed Reviews
The Fuchsia House was the best part of our trip through Ireland and the most enjoyable place we stayed ... by far! The tranquility of the area made my wife and I feel relaxed and refreshed. The views were magical. Breakfast was delicious, rooms were comfortable, and the hosts were very friendly and helpful but let us enjoy our serenity. There is nothing like sitting peacefully in front of a warm peat fire after a day of strolling along rocky coastlines and taking in the sights of Connemara. I highly recommend this lovely simple gem of western Ireland - especially if you are looking to get away from it all. I only wish our trip could have allowed us to stay longer!

Initially, I made two reservations for our stay in this part of Ireland. One at the Renvyle House and one at the Fuchsia House. The choice was important for this first visit to the Emerald Isle. One was recommended for the luxury of the surroundings, the other advised the traveller to refer to a paper map to find them since the GPS sometimes did not function (it did all the time we stayed there). The choice, putting aside any monetary consideration, seemed obvious. A real hideaway was waiting for us.
In actuality the Fuchsia House Bed and Breakfast is easy to find. Just keep driving north/northwest from the village of Letterfrack, until the road, getting narrower and narrower, almost ends on Renvyle Point. The location is also marked by a still standing tower of Renvyle Castle and several informative signs. A hidden, but easy to find treasure if you follow the clues. Yes, treasure.
Our hosts were welcoming but never intrusive. We were allowed to set the tone of our stay. Our room was inviting, the bed a cloud and there were reading lamps, something that has become part of our hotel wish list. Our morning began with the promised breakfast at the time we chose. Not just breakfast but a full IRISH breakfast. We also had access to a lounge and a newly built sunroom, both furnished with comfortable chairs. And outside the sunroom and over the hedges that surround the Fuchsia House was a stunning, yes stunning, view of meadows and the Atlantic Ocean. I cannot give praise enough to our hosts, Michael and Dee. My wife, Peg, and I thank them both for creating this haven and allowing us to share it for a bit of time. We also encourage Dee to pick up her brush again and hope there will be more display of her talent when we make our return visit.

We were quite happy with our stay at Fuchsia House. Dee and Michael were very kind and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The common room was large and perfect for relaxing by the fire but would suggest more side tables be available to set your drinks on etc. Michael was fun to chat with. The breakfast was very good - lots of food. It's a lovely place off the beaten track but still close to town and pubs. Horseback riding at Diamond stables nearby - very fun!

+1
It's located on a peninsula kind of area with ocean views. There's even an interesting ruin of a castle right there. The hostess was kind and served great breakfast. The rooms were nice and affordable enough for the family to have two rooms so we could spread out! When I woke up in the morning, I had a lovely view of sheep in the field and the ocean! Just lovely.

Stayed three nights here while older members of family were staying at nearby Renvyle House Hotel at about four times the price. We had much the nicer time with friendly owners, comfortable rooms and perfect breakfasts

A friend and I stayed one night at Fuchsia House in May 2013. We arrived in doubtful weather and were not sure about the place from the outside, but the moment the door opened and our hostess, Dee, welcomed us, we felt much more relaxed. The room was comfortable, and everything was thought of, and we were made to feel very much at home. They lit a fire in the sitting room which was very thoughtful. Dee is an artist and the rooms are filled with her paintings, which I found delightful and I enjoyed especially the watercolours of the local landscape.

Right from the first meeting my wife & I were made to feel like old friends. Dee the hostess took us to our room, which were what I would call Homely old fassioned. The furniture beside the bed looked farm house rustic, which made the bed ifself fun & true to stle very very high indeed. My wife & I were celebrating Five years of marriage and both Dee & Michael are fantistic hosts.
The house is clean, tidy, warm & has a great friendly atmosphere.
Thanks to Dee & Michael our anniversary is one that will be in both our hearts for a long long time. I would gladly reccommend this wonderful bed & breakfast, host & hostess without reservation.

We celebrated our 5th Handfasting Anniversary on the day we arrived and had looked forward to our weekend and were not disappointed. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, while giving us the privacy to do our own thing. They kindly lit the fire in the sitting room which made us feel at home. Loved our stay. Had 2 peaceful and comfortable nights sleep in our room.
