Renvyle House is a four star, historic country house, family owned and family run. It first opened as a hotel in 1883 and is spectacularly located on a 150 acre estate on the shores of the Wild Atlantic Way (midway point of the longest car touring route in the world). Renvyle House is known for it’s “air of otherwordliness” which we believe is a strong and unique selling point and something of which we are very proud. Our emphasis is on customer service “friendly combined with professional” and we believe this plays a large part in why Renvyle enjoys over 55% repeat business. The hotel resort grounds include a private lake, a beach, woodlands, gardens and numerous activities on site including tennis, croquet, outdoor heated swimming pool & Canadia Hot Tub, fly-fishing, canoeing and more. Renvyle House is also well known for it’s good food (Tim O'Sullivan is our award winning Executive Chef). Renvyle House always has a warm welcome guaranteed for every guest.

What's not to love about Renvyle House Hotel. I first drove down that laneway as a young 20 something with my now wife. Let's say we are in our mid 50's now. Back then, it had a clear mystique and when we walked around the premises ( too young with not enough funds to stay) - there were a few famous people loitering by the pool which only added to the sense of prestige. We visited for coffee and drinks several times since, but this is the first time we treated ourselves to a stay. Our room was fab and spacious, at the back of the hotel overlooking the beach, with windows on two sides. The food was first rate. We had the set a la carte menu on one of the two nights and it was simply superb, washed down with a fine and affordable bottle of Tempranillo. The breakfast was also brilliant. Cooked to order, and with an excellent buffet of cereals, fruits and bread, in a very comfortable dining room. The bar area does bar food which we had on the other evening, and again, it was first rate and reasonably priced. The proximity to Renvyle Beach is also excellent, and you can swim at the back of the hotel as well, though we preferred the 2 minute drive to the sandy beach with the most glorious views over the Connemara Mountains and across to Clare Island, Inishbofin and north wards, the tip of Achill Island. Taking the bathrobes made the beach visits all the more comfortable. The pool area is great and the clientele is a rich mix of families, retirees, and couples. The hotel also sports a few tennis courts and a nearby lake where you can take one of the hotel's boats out for a row if you're feeling suitably inclined. The hotel has a rich history from its owner Oliver St John Gogarty and his merry band of house guests which included Yeats and Lady Gregory amongst many others. There is a clear vibe around the place. The staff are experienced and friendly. The service is professional and unfussy. many of the younger staff are from the four corners of the globe having come to Ireland to make a new life for themselves and have all been schooled in the unique ways of Renvyle House. And they all look like they love their workplace. And why wouldn't they. Manager Linda brings an air of quiet knowledge and advice about what the best things to do locally, though there are few reasons to leave such a place , except to walk in the astounding nearby landscapes which is a must. All in all we loved it and look forward to returning their very soon. One of the best few days and nights we have spent in a very long time.

I travelled to Renvyle staying two nights in a single room with breakfast on September 10 and 11th. Checking in was a quick and painless experience and I quickly went upstairs to unpack. The room was excellent, spacious and clean. Including all the amenities I required. The bed was fantastic, spacious and comfortable and I had a relaxing sleep on both nights. There is a nice lounge just as you walk in, creating a relaxing comforting atmosphere. I decided to get food in the bar on my first night and had an excellent dinner with fresh fish of the day. I enjoyed the meal with quality of a very high standard and a pleasant experience all round. The service was excellent. I then proceeded outside and had a pleasant walk around the outside area. There are several comfortable walks around the hotel leading down to the sea. The hotel was a good base to explore the Connemara area and the experience as a whole is one I would recommend. There are many other facilities available to guests such as the outdoor jacuzzi and the hotel is animal-friendly if you are travelling with your dog. Overall this was good value for money with an excellent breakfast provided to start your day. I will be coming back to stay here next year with a few trips already planned.

I enjoyed two nights at this homely hotel in a beautiful setting with a lake, beach and sizeable grounds. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. The turf fire in the lounge (unfortunately needed even in June) added to the coziness and comfort. A few rugs in the lounge would help absorb the sound as the floorboards are quite creaky.
Both breakfast and the bar food were very good and the latter, reasonably priced. There is also a more formal restaurant, however I didn’t eat there so can’t comment on it.
The single room was a good size, with no single supplement, which is appreciated. The bed and pillows were comfortable and I slept like a baby both nights. The shower was good although it would be nice to have Voya or other Irish products rather than ones made in England.
Overall, a very nice hotel that I would recommend and would return to.

Renvyle House hotel has a unique setting in front of the mighty Atlantic! It's a gem for people who really like to relax. There is a lovely walking path on the hotel grounds you can do every day... There is a lovely beach nearby and you can walk for hours to explore the Renvyle penisula. Such a natural beauty! You can relax on a bench and just listen to the waves and the birds. It's so peaceful. If you stay longer, a car would be advisable.
The hotel manager came to pick me up at Letterfrack! She always had a word for her guests. The ladies at the reception were helpful at any moment. Lovely service in the restaurant and the bar! Even the luggage was brought to the room! I really feel welcome!
The room was nice and clean! In general, I prefer rooms without carpet, but I felt well and the room service made a great job. It was calm at night, I had a good sleep.
The breakfast was amazing...A great range of Irish breakfast and continental products. It's offered till 11 o'clock! Best bread ever!!
Most of the time, I took dinner in the bar. The food was great! Perhaps, more vegetables could be added to the menu:-) Great Irish music several days in the week.
The restaurant has a great atmosphere, calm, piano music... Great food with local products and high quality.
The lovely fire gives a special moment when reading or have a drink...
Thanks for a great week in August! I'll come back!!

This is our 3rd stay at Renvyle. We stayed for the first time over Xmas, where majority of families are repeaters and have been coming for years. Although we were newbies for Xmas , everyone was really friendly and many a conversation had over a wine or a whisky.
Accommodation was good, just need coat hooks for outdoor coats in the room.
The hotel is just by the Atlantic, so beach walks , early morning dips are the order of the day and plenty of other walks to do.
The hotel is also dog friendly. Only place they are not allowed is the restaurant and the bar. Drinks and food can be served to you in the lounge area, just by the peat fire with your dog, our usual spot
Xmas time - they have a timetable of events - musicians, theatre or guided walks.
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and a mobile sauna. Outdoor Jacuzzi has a lovely view over the Atlantic
Food, well get ready to add a few notches to your belt. Dinner is 4 courses and exceptional quality. Breakfast is a leisurely affair, mix and match things on the menu. Lovely way to start the day. Staff are really good and are always trying to ensure your stay is as good as possible. Our dog loved Andy, who seemed to have bits of chicken for the dogs staying.
As dog owners, and not staying at Xmas, we would eat our meals in the lounge. You can decide how many nights you want to eat in the restaurant and other nights in the lounge or somewhere else
The hotel is a stress free zone. We will be back for another 4 nights sometime. Love to repeat Xmas break again in a few years time. Pre booking a year in advance is advisable, for Xmas - I am not joking

This is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The location is amazing, the hotel itself is full of character and charm and the food in both restaurant and bar is excellent.
A theatre performance in the library and a harpist in the lounge added to the atmosphere on our first evening.
The communal areas were quiet and relaxing - no loud music, televisions or noisy groups. In fact the bar and lounges seem to be for the exclusive use of residents.
The complementary decanters of sherry in the reception area were a lovely touch.
This place really is outstanding and I will definitely be back.

I’d been to Renvyle a long time ago and absolutely loved it. It was a real delight therefor to spend Easter here this year and find that on my return it not only met but surpassed all my expectations. The setting is spectacular: the hotel is set right on the sea with a long stone beach and lakes directly outside the front door, and some stunning sandy strands nearby. Inside the wood panelling and log fires are cosy and welcoming, with olde worlde charm. There’s a relaxed country house feel about the place but the service is first rate - discreet and totally professional. The food was fantastic - conjured up by a French chef I believe. The restaurant team were a delight, all gracious, pleasant and efficient. I slept in an extremely comfortable room with terrific views over the mountains. I totally relaxed over the past few days and cannot wait to return

Every visit to Renvyle House is one that is enjoyed. We first stayed there for a wedding in 2018, and since then, have stayed with family and friends, or just to have food in the bar and to walk along the Connemara coast. It has become a firm favourite, and is considered by us a home from home. The beautiful surroundings outside are matched inside, with artwork and furnishings, that alone are worth visiting to see. The open turf fires, outdoor heated pool, award winning restaurant, are among a range of experiences. But most importantly, I find the incredibly accommodating staff feel like family. For the service, experience, location and comfort, it is worth every penny, whether you're young, old or anything in between.

Natural beauty, wonderful hospitality, and fantastic dining. Renvyle House is all that and more. The manager, Anne Marie, has such genuine charm, looking after guests and her staff with care and an easy efficiency. She made sure my teenagers felt welcome and that they knew about the many activities—swimming, boating, table tennis, climbing, roaming around the place. We also enjoyed the herb garden, the lake, and a long walk around the property. Watching the sunset over the sea was incredibly peaceful.
My favorite spot was the pebble beach pre-breakfast. My daughter loved her window seat in the “artist in residence” room. My sons enjoyed climbing the rocks at the edge of the sea and exploring the huge lake. And we all loved the hang-out spaces (multiple lounge areas, inside and out) that encouraged conversation, card playing, or having a drink or a cup of tea. We visited in August 2022, with many families, couples, and singles of all ages. But we never felt crowded or rushed at Renvyle. The staff are wonderful and helpful.
The fine dining restaurant was impeccable. Delicious and sophisticated food— to our surprise, the entire 5-course menu changed every day. AND when we ate in the pub, we could order a la carte items from the restaurant’s menu, in addition to the pub fare. So many choices!
Our rooms were in the simple arts and crafts style, (as is the hotel overall) with plaid wool drapes and coverlets. Beds were fine and the rooms very clean.
The location makes it easy to get to hikes in Connemara and about 10 minutes to Kylemore Abbey.
Renvyle House is one of the most magical places we have ever stayed. It is beyond just a hotel. We were planning our return trip before we left. We can’t wait to bring more members of our family there next time.

While booking with Irish Ferries, the offer came up to include two nights at Renvyle House Hotel. It was off our route and time schedule but looked good so we took it. On arrival in the car park, Anne Marie the General Manager and Ben the Sales Manager, happened to be there and immeditaley came over to introduce themselves and welcome us. Later on, as we were going in, Ben was in Reception and took us through to our beautiful suite! What a surprise, absolutley fantastic. What a lovely hotel in a most beautiful location. Staff very friendly and on wandering around I went over to the Receptionist for a chat. So friendly and welcoming across the hotel. We didn't want a large meal in the evening so ate the same food in the bar while, at the same time, going thorugh our route schedule. Breakfast was superb and once again, Anne Marie was going from table to table wiching guests good morning and just having a chat and making them feel welcome. Later in the day, I noticed steam coming off the outdoor pool, the water was warm and in I went. For the more hardy at this time of year there is a beautiful bach nearby. Overall a terrific and worthwhile experience and we shall go back again.
