Renvyle House is a four star, historic country house, family owned and family run. It first opened as a hotel in 1883 and is spectacularly located on a 150 acre estate on the shores of the Wild Atlantic Way (midway point of the longest car touring route in the world). Renvyle House is known for it’s “air of otherwordliness” which we believe is a strong and unique selling point and something of which we are very proud. Our emphasis is on customer service “friendly combined with professional” and we believe this plays a large part in why Renvyle enjoys over 55% repeat business. The hotel resort grounds include a private lake, a beach, woodlands, gardens and numerous activities on site including tennis, croquet, outdoor heated swimming pool & Canadia Hot Tub, fly-fishing, canoeing and more. Renvyle House is also well known for it’s good food (Tim O'Sullivan is our award winning Executive Chef). Renvyle House always has a warm welcome guaranteed for every guest.

After visiting Renvyle House Hotel on two previous occasions, once in Spring and once in Autumn, we decided to try a New Year break at the Hotel. The 1st 2 visits were perfect, but how would it be in the middle of winter we wondered! Well, we need not have worried because this magical place still cast its spell even in the dark days of late December/early January. The location, the ambience, the food, all incredible. But its the staff that really make this place so special. Andy and his bar team and Thomas and his restaurant team have created a warm, welcoming but highly professional environment for guests. Jacob, Duty Manager around to answer questions and chat with great charm and humour. But of course the staff are only as good as their leader! AnneMarie, what a leader. Always there in the background, making sure everyone is happy, chatty but never intrusive, helping to clear tables if needed, all without fuss, Keep doing what your doing AnneMarie. We debated keeping this gem of a place to ourselves, but that would be selfish. Its unique and quite magical and needs to be experienced. We are already booked for our next visit!

Life is full of difficult decisions, staying at Renvyle House is not one of them - just do it, you won't regret it. The family-owned property achieves an unexpected "other worldness" bringing one back to hotels of old via the grounds, building, facilities, service & staff. A lot of business is repeat, no surprise once you've been there. Enough! For the reader who demands more details it's difficult, suffice to say given the right life circumstances (time, money) you could write a book here. Where to begin? Where else do you get turf fires with the smell of burning peat wafting throughout the lobby lounges (multiple), not just the head waiter but the GM (detail oriented) wander through breakfast & dinner checking with each table if all is good & what else might one reasonably want etc., the outdoor pool is open & heated in winter (never heard of such in Ireland), where amazing theater shows (very interesting), harp recitals, traditional music are all included, complementary Port available throughout the evening, hot tube right on the Pebble beach, rowing boats in the large pond well stocked with fish, croquet lawn in the summer, tennis courts, incredible grounds/walks, wonderful food (breakfast till eleven...). None of that touches the essence - good sleeps & chats as mum used say! It doesn't describe The chef or Plant Lady (staff, they know who they are) and how approachable they are. It doesn't convey the fact it's dog friendly, and kid friendly (where is that now). Mere words compared to the reality of designer family with designer dog, or chatting with a family having their dog as an ice-breaker who later turn out to be the owners, or the gorgeous Bearnaise flopped on the floor belonging to a guest. The empty telephone room, the room signal board with four bathrooms then for the entire hotel (house dates back to Oliver St.John Gogarty. After the plays W.B. Yeats will never be the same to you again, and I'm not even into plays! Thus overall you should already have gotten the point: there's no point talking details. Sure you find rough edges if you look but that defeats the purpose - you'll forget about checking emails or being rigorous on your list of things to do in this peaceful part of Connemara - just enjoy.

Staying at Renvyle amid January rain and wind, my wee dog and I found an exceptional welcome, comfort and space to relax and contemplate. Such truly lovely people work here, nothing is too much bother and always a smile and a kind word for everyone. A fabulous array of food morning to night, entertainment laid on, great aromatic turf fires and an ambience reflecting the care, committment and professionalism of the lovely staff team. Walks, theatre, music, and plants so well tended to they were flourishing happily. Can't say enough good about this one-off home from home. Thank you all, may your kindness return to you a hundredfold. Renvyle House stays alive in memories that comfort and cheer. Bravo!

Thank you to all in Renvyle for the warm welcome to me and my dog. The very best of Irish hospitality - beautiful historic hotel with parquet floors, open turf fires in the most fabulous setting at the end of Renvyle peninsula. Breakfast cooked to order, exquisite dinner in the dining room with local produce. Attentive, friendly staff who made me feel most welcome. Look forward to my next visit. Hope all the Renvyle team have a well earned break after the Christmas/New Year.

We have visited Renvyle a couple of times and this stay was just as magical and enjoyable as all the others. Everytime we visit we fall in love with the place a little bit more. Annemarie, the hotel hostess, looks after everyone impeccably with a quiet, understated warmth that lasts for the duration of your stay. This is a hotel of extreme comfort where every little detail is attended to in an almost invisible manner to ensure that your stay is a perfect one. From beautiful breakfasts in the morning, walks on the peninsula, cosy hours spent reading a book by the log fire to a dazzling New Year's night spent dancing into 2023 to "Strictly Sinatra" a band which matched the ambience of the hotel perfectly. Andy looks after the bar with a gentlemanly presence and Tomas runs the beautiful restaurant to precision. We had some of the nicest meals I've ever had and I would drive the three hours all over again just for another bowl of the apple, onion and chestnut soup. This really is fine dining at its very best. Please don't ever change Renvyle. We look forward to next year already.

This is our 3rd stay at Renvyle. We stayed for the first time over Xmas, where majority of families are repeaters and have been coming for years. Although we were newbies for Xmas , everyone was really friendly and many a conversation had over a wine or a whisky. Accommodation was good, just need coat hooks for outdoor coats in the room. The hotel is just by the Atlantic, so beach walks , early morning dips are the order of the day and plenty of other walks to do. The hotel is also dog friendly. Only place they are not allowed is the restaurant and the bar. Drinks and food can be served to you in the lounge area, just by the peat fire with your dog, our usual spot Xmas time - they have a timetable of events - musicians, theatre or guided walks. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and a mobile sauna. Outdoor Jacuzzi has a lovely view over the Atlantic Food, well get ready to add a few notches to your belt. Dinner is 4 courses and exceptional quality. Breakfast is a leisurely affair, mix and match things on the menu. Lovely way to start the day. Staff are really good and are always trying to ensure your stay is as good as possible. Our dog loved Andy, who seemed to have bits of chicken for the dogs staying. As dog owners, and not staying at Xmas, we would eat our meals in the lounge. You can decide how many nights you want to eat in the restaurant and other nights in the lounge or somewhere else The hotel is a stress free zone. We will be back for another 4 nights sometime. Love to repeat Xmas break again in a few years time. Pre booking a year in advance is advisable, for Xmas - I am not joking

I had a wonderful two day stay in Renvyle House Hotel. Very comfortable room, truly delicious food, highly professional staff, exemplary service and excellent value for money. Honestly I could not find fault with anything. On top of all that, my dog Persi received the warmest welcome ever and he was delighted to meet so many other furry friends. The set up is very suitable for dogs and they are allowed in the hotel (on a leash) but obviously not in the areas where food is served. He had some wonderful walks in the grounds and the environs and after receiving lots of admiration and hugs from the other guests, he slept soundly in his bed every evening. He cannot wait to return (and he promises to bring me with him). For those of you who might be nervous about dogs in hotels, please don't be in the case of Renvyle. All the dogs were extremely well behaved and well controlled by their owners and I am sure that the wonderful staff would have been very quick to sort any issues if they had arisen.

We went for one night and it was so good we booked in for another night!! The food, as always, was delicious. The service and attention to detail throughout the hotel was second to none. The staff were brilliant, extremely friendly and so professional. In particular Ann-Marie and Andy. I can't wait to book my next visit!!

We booked in for two nights, but extended to four nights when we were there. The hotel is an oasis of luxury in a tranquil and beautiful countryside. Open turf fires in the main hall and lounge to relax by. The staff are so attentive and the food is superb - you cannot miss having dinner there. There is an outdoor heated swimming pool - surreal in a cold December. Overall it is a place to come back to again and again, and again ……..
